Well done pollywollydoodle for avoiding temptation. wish i was as strong as you.

ParanoidAtAllTimes hope your dp has had a nice day. And s days also include special occasions

So this weekend has definately been s days. Yesterday me and dh went out for lunch, with more wine followed by chocs at home. then today a full roast with a pud after although it was a very small portion adn a definate one off as we dont normally have puddings. (Its a good job we dont get weekends to ourselves very often )

Tonight i'm feeling hungry but instead of going for any more food, i've had an orange and i'm drinking plenty

Good luck for tommorow everyone. I just hope i haven't messed up with this weekend

spoke too soon NMonkey....dd found a cake mix in the cupboard so we made (and each ate big slices) of that....still,at least i let dd lick cake mix and icing out of the bowl...

so today

cheese on toast and chutney
salmon fishcakes and veg
rather a large slice of chocolate cake(even by my standards!

not holding out any great hopes for tomorrow really (but will post!)

where have all the starters on this thread gone?

pollywollydoodle · 10/01/2010 20:53

ps i don't think 1 day can mess up a whole week really...

northernmonkey · 10/01/2010 21:16

I'm sure the chocolate cake was nice and worth it though

Am very at the cheese on toast. That really is one thing that once i start i really cant stop.

I was begining to wonder where everyone was.

Btw i think you should hold out hope for tommorow, by the sounds of it you've had a good week and well done to you.

I know i'll just be greatfull for a loss. I have such a huge amount to lose, as long as its off, its the right direction.

pollywollydoodle · 10/01/2010 21:26

got dh to do the cheese on toast and told him to skimp on the cheese so was ok!

cake a packet mix so a bit meh...best thing about it was that it rose a lot to a point...i put the pointy bit on the bottom expecting it to squash down but it didn't...we were spinning it like a top

...my worst thing is stopping once i've started eating too much...am fighting the urge to go and attack some crisps and chocs that dh and dd have in the kitchen...i admire your water and orange approach!

northernmonkey · 10/01/2010 21:47

at spinning top

Thats why i'm doing it tonight. Its all too easy for me to spiral out of control with eating.
I am a self confessed comfort eater hense the reason i'm over 7 stone over weight. My Dad died 10 years ago when i was pregnant with ds1 and i went from a 14 to a 24 and struggled to get the weight off since
So now whenever things get me down the easiest thing to do is look in the cupboard and eat whats there, and once i start i really cant stop.
Sorry i'm waffling now

Thats why i'm trying to stick to fruit and water

Evening! Well a couple of S days have happened here but I don;t feel like it's been too debauched really...! I've been making a huge effort to stick to the three square meals a day principle and not eat much (if anything) between meals. So I've had a couple of sweet treats but they've been part of a meal, rather than snacking.

Yesterday - Toast/2 appleas/Prawn salad (yummy!) following by a crunchie/Nachos (with refried beans and half fat cheese);
Today - cereal/soup (we were out at Ikea - everyone else had meatballs, I didn't ) and finished off DS2s chips/Toad in the hole (LF sausages), veg (no potatoes - yorkshire pud = the only carbs) and homemade apple sponge pudding.

Hope I'm not kidding myself, but feel like I've managed the weekend well without any food daftness. Looking forward to the routine of the week - that's what I find throws all my best intentions at the weekends. I eat much better during the week because the routine is so set. Things can be so free and easy at the weekend that if I'm not careful all my best intentions start to unravel.

Just about to have an apple and a cuppa then off to bed! Night all! Hope you've all had nice weekends. MPD

LittleMissBliss · 11/01/2010 09:19

morning all,

I have lost the grand total of.... DRUM ROLL.....

2lb! oh well better than nothing, Must try harder, keep slipping up.

I've made some vegemince, so i have made two little cottage pies and enough left over to make spag bog, and i will add some beans and have chili and rice. So some healthy quick proper meals. I want to lose at least 3lb this week and my aim is to be 10 and half stone by the following week.

DS1 has a cold so looks like a lazy day in. Really need to work on exercising.
Will answer posts after baths.
Have a good day all.

northernmonkey · 11/01/2010 09:27

LittleMissBliss 2lb is fantastic, Well Done.

Well i've lost 4lb and i'm happy with that
I weighed in at 17st 11lb this morning.
My main aim is to get to 11 stone and take it from there.

So for this week my goal is to exercise more and avoid chocolates at all costs!!!
Its dh's birthday wednesday so i need to try and avoid that cake too if i can

OP posts:
pollywollydoodle · 11/01/2010 11:00

well done you 2!

Well, even bigger drum roll....1lb here!

still as a friend once said to me, every lb off is 3000 cals burnt/not eaten....made me feel better anyway

repeats to self, "i'm in it for the long haul"

pollywollydoodle · 11/01/2010 11:04

ps nmonkey, i know what you mean about emotional eating, there are times when i am surprised that the cupboard doors are still there....

cakeforbrains · 11/01/2010 19:17

Hi everyone, well done on all the weightloss. I've gone from 12.7 to 12.1 yay!! Definitely helped by DS2 refusing all foods and demanding BFs all day and night. Hoping I can keep going - I felt pretty tempted over the weekend.

pollywollydoodle · 11/01/2010 21:15

well done cakefb!
BF is a good thing all round

mummymels · 11/01/2010 21:26

ParanoidAtAllTimes - You have to have a treat when you have a family birthday. Hope you all had a good day.

northernmonkey - It sounds as if you had a lovely weekend. I am a terrible comfort eater too so I get where you are coming from. Well done on the brilliant weight loss.

pollywollydoodle - That's funny about the cake spinning top. Well done on your weight loss. However much it is, it's still a loss so in the right direction.

misspollysdolly - I think your weekends eating sounds fine.

LittleMissBliss - Well done on your weight loss.

cakeforbrains - Brilliant weight loss.

I had weight in today and lost 4 lbs so am now 11 stone. I haven't been this low since pre children and it feels brilliant. I am really starting to feel better in myself now.

pollywollydoodle · 11/01/2010 21:56

Yay! mummymels

well have decided that rather than having 2 days a week when i can have s's and am likely to go mad, i'm more likely to stick to a 7 s's a week rule, so giving that a go instead

Today muesli/2 crumpets with jam/salmon and veg/
S=chocolate cake (has stopped spinning...is now leaning rather listlessly)

questions2008 · 12/01/2010 00:59

hello all, sorry to have gone awol, but still here! i've been reading your posts just had no time to post myself. i've managed to finish the week and (think) i've lost 1kg - 2lb. the think is because i've got a non-digital scale and it's a bit dodgy so can't be too exact on such a small loss, i think i need to go to a boots or something and make it more scientific . but i feel better so at least i have that!
pollywollydoodle i second that 3000kcal notion, i've certainly noticed just how many extra useless calories i usually eat without really noticing.

well done to all for making it through the week. my aim is to try and get some exercise in this week, i think the treadmill is beckoning!

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 12/01/2010 02:10

Well done on the weight loss everyone! I still have no idea what I weigh as haven't been to anyone's house with scales due to the snow!

Pollywollydoodle- 7s's is a good idea, plus you can always alter this later to more/less depending on how you're doing.

mummymels- congrats on being pre children weight! What a fantastic milestone to reach.

cakeforbrains- wow, almost half a stone How old is your ds2?

nmonkey- good luck on your 2 new goals- I'm supposed to be exercising more but can't get out because of the darn snow!

Littlemissbliss- sounds very organised, those meals sound lovely

mpd- I agree; routine= much easier. Well done on making it through the weekend!

Ok, I am in need of some weightloss advice ladies. I'm sure that a lot of my calories come from my drinks as I tend to drink highjuice squash. This is because I hate water (it actually makes me retch). I used to drink no added sugar squash (unhealthy but v low cal) but since pg I've completely gone off sweeteners, which hasn't changed since giving birth! Any ideas?

cakeforbrains · 12/01/2010 09:31

well done mummymels and questions.

DS2 is nearly ten months. He had a horrible cold/cough possibly flu thing over xmas, whereby every time he coughed he projectile vomited all solid food in his stomach. So he stopped eatinh but found he could keep BM down. So he's been feeding 10+ times a day, it's been like having a newborn again.

Paranoid - can you drink sparkling water? I hate normal water, but love sparkling.

LittleMissBliss · 12/01/2010 09:45

oops didn't mean to post that hadn't finished replying or read it through. (*pepper, eating, brilliantly)

Where was I....

NM- I get where your coming from, but for me it's boredom. I eat for something to do... when stuck at home some days with two ds's i find myself drifting into the kitchen hourly....

right battery on laptop about to die. will be back.

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 12/01/2010 11:30

Sorry questions, x post if you would believe it! (started my post during one night feed and finished during the next.) Well done to you too. I love treadmills, although running isn't an option for me until I stop bfing

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 12/01/2010 11:41

Oh- sparkling water is a good idea, thanks!

LittleMissBliss · 12/01/2010 11:53

oh gosh i sound like a loon....on my computer this had posted bellow....and had typos in it...hence the random words in my above post!

Sorry i didn't come back and reply to everyone.

Firstly well done everyone! Glad we've all had a loss. Great to hear some 4lb and 6lb loses!

mummymels- you are doing brilliantly! really inspiring you are motivating me to stay away from the crap to get a better result next Monday!

DS1 was really ill with a cold he's had for a few days yesterday. Really mopey, not eating sick etc. This morning he's asking to go to nursery and seems fine and perky! still has a bit of a snotty nose, not sure whether to keep him away for a day or to let him go..... really don't want to be spreading his germs.

DS2 has caught his cold and was screaming blue murder last night because his nose was bunged up and he wouldn't latch on.
Had to sit in the bathroom with the shower running at 1 am and he eventually fed and fell asleep but woke up twice again screaming. and by then we'd run out of hot water!

Tip for unblocking a babies nose. DP likes white pepper powder with peas [boak]. So he adds the pepper to the peas water when boiling resulting in us all sneezing and coughing! So this morning i boiled some water and pepper powder and ds2 was sneezing all over the shop and seems to have cleared a bit out of his system.

LittleMissBliss · 12/01/2010 12:07

PAAT- Also maybe drinking fruit teas? I'm an avid fan of high juice too, I don't mind water but can drink pints of Hi-juice. Think I'll just have to make mine weaker.

Cake- Sorry to hear your ds has been unwell, It's horrible having a baby with a cold as there's little you can do for them.

polly- I'm like you it's all or nothing. I'm much better at dieting if i don't have treats as it often snowballs. Once i have the taste for it. I've once eaten half a (large) cake in tiny little slices through-out the course of the day. Kidding myself that i was being restrained only having little bits

question- I definitely need to get on the exercise bandwagon, do you have a treadmill at home? I'd love a mini home gym.

mummymels · 12/01/2010 15:27

Pollywollydoodle ? you have to do the way which is going to make it easiest for you. Good luck with your new way of trying it out.

Questions2008 ? good to hear how you are doing.

ParanoidAtAllTimes ? I know they?re not particularly good for you but diet fizzy drinks are low cal. Or it may be a bit vile but you could try diluting fresh fruit juices with water. I also sometimes drink flavoured water (pre Go Lower) ? probably not calorie free but lower calorie than squash. Hope that helps.

Cakeforbrains ? That must be really hard with DS2. I hope you manage to get him back on solids again soon.

LittleMissBliss ? Thanks, am pleased to help. This is the first diet ever to work for me. What did you decide about sending DS1 to nursery? What a good idea about the pepper but it sounds as if everyone are in the wars in your house. I hope you are all better soon.

LittleMissBliss · 12/01/2010 19:20

Mummymels- In the end i kept ds off nursery as his energy soon dwindled after lunch, he didn't eat much at all. He later threw up. So i am really glad i kept him off. I won't send him tomorrow either as i don't want any of the other children getting infected (although i expect that's where the cold originated) It's a bit of a PITA as he's never really ill and as soon as we pay for him to go to nursery he's ill, sods law and all that.
