Hi can I join your group? Had Ds2 in June and had also hoped bf would budge some weight, but apparently I've been eating too many choccies for that! I'm 5ft4 and 10ish stone...would LOVE to be 8st7 for my birthday in June Really need a massive dose of will power. I'm also contemplating going running to help budge my very saggy 6month pregnant looking belly Going to remove all junk from my cupboards tomorrow and do a very healthy shop!

LittleMissBliss · 02/01/2010 23:10

Just bookmarking and off to bed, Will be one year older tomorrow, last day of chocolate and cake.

Shall we all have a weigh in On Monday?

Then weekly Monday weigh in to track our progress? It may help me keep on track if i can see the progress on screen.

Night all.

AppleHEAD · 02/01/2010 23:57

Can I join, Monday sounds good as my house is full of chocolate, although I have been eating as much as I can - for the sake of the childrens health. Thats the kind of wonderful mother I am.
Need to shift about 2 stone asap

Please can I join...??!

I have committed the cardinal sin of buying a dress in the sale for my sister's wedding in June to 'slim into' - AAARRRGH!

I actually went back to WW in October as I was determined to get a bit of a handle on my ever increasing weight, rather than waiting til the new year whilst continuing to put on weight. I lost 6lbs, but then had a horrible bout of pneumonia (with asthma - a chronic problem), was ill for a month, couldn't do much at all physically, ate weirdly (not at all, or whatever the hell I liked) and had steroids for two weeks and ended up putting on the 6lbs I had lost .

The week before Christmas I had managed to lose 3 of those pesky 6lbs but then Christmas happened......and oh boy did Christmas happen!! Been staying with my parents in a house laden with fudge, shortbread, cake and roast potatoes. Came home CRAVING fresh fruit and salad, and feeling thoroughly disgusting and a new enthusiasm for properly losing some weight. Oh, that and the aforementioned blardy dress to 'slim into' - AAAAARRGH!

WW for me is on a Thursday evening, so if tomorrow is Day 1 (works for me too!), then I have three and a bit days to make a HUGE effort, and then I'll know exactly what's what and how much damage the Christmas force-feeding-fest has really done.

Hope you don;t mind me joining this thread, I would love to have some good humoured MNetters to ease the pain a bit.

questions2008 · 04/01/2010 00:01

Me too please!!!

DS was born in June and BF = weight-loss also doesn't work for me (or maybe its all the choc??). But hate being this size, not sure exactly but around 90kg (14 stone) arrgh, scary actually writing it down. oh and im 152cm (5ft1) so not good!! I like being around 60-65kg (10 stone) tops, so thats a good 25kgs ie 4 stone - double yikes!!! i have a whole lovely wardrobe in that size i cant wear and its really depressing me.

I'm also going to join WW online as I know it works well just needs to be stuck with long enough, and plus I'm still BF so can't do anything too drastic!!

Right, so tomorrow weigh-in. See you all lovely ladies then I guess.

veryconfusedandupset · 04/01/2010 07:40

And me too!
Today 12 st 9lb and 5'3" would like to be 2st less for end of April when I have a conference to go to where phots are taken (will neeed to stand at the back. 9 st and a bit for hols at End of July would be my final aim - so 3 1/2 stone in 7 months. I too have a wardrobe full of sizes 10 and 12s, 3 posh dresses in size 16 and lots of Asda and Matalan tat in 14/16 because I refuse to buy nice clothes when I'm this size unless there is really no other option.

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 04/01/2010 08:24

I'm another one with nice clothes that don't fit! why do we do it to ourselves?! All my clothes that fit me are horrible (and half of them still maternity wear )

gingernutlover · 04/01/2010 08:28

my healthy eating starts today! I had dd 4 years a go and went from a size 20 to a 10-12, unfortunatly I am now quite a large 14

i would be happy to be a 12-14, think size 10 would be un - maintainable for me.

I am planning to eat 3 meals a day and stop eating crap in between, especially in the evenings .

I have also ordered the wii fit plus which I am hoping will get me interested in doing wii fit again, and have ordered a weight loss hypnotherapy CD off amazon too.

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 04/01/2010 11:59

Ahh! Already finding this surprisingly hard! My only real plan is to stop eating sugary/fatty rubbish and do more exercise. I usually find the first few days of a diet the easiest but good god I'm having to employ serious willpower already!!

pollywollydoodle · 04/01/2010 12:10

right, having read about it on MN, i've decided that the No S's diet is the one for me ...I'll reassess after 4 weeks and see how i'm doing.
13 stone 6lbs this am (gulp)

ParanoidAtAllTimes · 04/01/2010 12:43

Hmm...that diet looks interesting Polly- do let us know how you get on, how easy it is to stick to etc. I'm initially being pretty strict (no cakes, chocolate, crisps etc for 2 months) although I'm allowing myself 3 'strikes' in that time. Otherwise I could see myself in a situation where I eat something to be polite (eg if someone's made a cake specially) then think to myself 'well that's today ruined! I might as well give up!'. I will record said strikes here! After end Feb I need to think of something that's more maintainable.

misspollysdolly · 04/01/2010 13:21

I like the look of the No S diet, too - that is precisely how I would like to live (i.e no Weight Watchers, no public weighing in, no silly rules, counting etc etc) but just now, I know I would cheat, play the system and not have the willpower/strength. My aim is to lose 1-1.5 stone with Weight Watchers and then maybe employ the No S lifestyle with its sensible rules and positive attitude. I am a size 20 (18 - just - on top) and mostly do not seriously dislike what I see in the mirror. I believe that good self-esteem and self worth are more important than being thin/a set of number on the scales, but I also MUST MUST MUST MUST not get any bigger and I would very much like to be a bit smaller and to feel a bit more healthy. So for me it's about getting a handle on things - oh, and getting into the blessed dress for little sister's wedding!

AppleHEAD · 04/01/2010 15:49

porridge with grated apple, soup with a slice of bread and some nuts........... ok so far. I am sure to have lost loads it has been hours.

kkey21 · 04/01/2010 16:09

Right girls-7 days until my surgery and this morning 11 st 3. Would like to be 11st by next Monday. GULP!

northernmonkey · 04/01/2010 17:49

My 1st day has gone ok so far but just ok. Instead of having lunch i was at a friends and i had 2 cookies instead

I had weetabix for breakfast then fruit as a snack.
Then this evening i've had tuna pasta with a peice of garlic bread.

I have had 10 mins on wii fit plus which i bought today so i'll have another go in a bit

I'm off to tesco's now to finally get some shopping in so no more crap in this house!!

Thanks for the link to the no s diet pwd, it looks like just the sort of thing i need too.

Hi
gingernutlover - you sound just like me - my dd was 4 2 weeks ago and I'm also a big 14, probably never will achieve a 10 but would love to be a small 12!
I'm interested to see how you get on with the wii plus, we've ordered one & I collect tomorrow - only problem for me is I can only do gentle exercise as am recovering from op & also need another next week

kkey21 I'm sure you could be 11 st by next Mon, good luck

LittleMissBliss · 04/01/2010 18:45

evening all,

11st exactly this a.m

Today has gone to pot as it has been super stressful.

missed breakfast as didn't have time as ds1 had his one hour trial at nursery. Had to give him his bath earlier which resulted in him having an accident in the bath. So i had to clean the bath disinfect all his toys and then shower him down as we didn't have time for another bath. He hates the shower so screamed the place down. Have to do it all again tomo. But think we'll just skip the bath. He starts his 4 hour proper afternoon session on Wednesday.

After nursery we came back an i had some left over birthday cake for brunch.
1/2 pot of houmous, a carrot and 3 bread sticks for a late lunch.

And some butter popcorn and a cup of tea and bit of ds1 sweet potato that he had for his tea.

so not loads of food but not a balanced diet in the slightest.

Will endeavour to do better tomo.

gingernutlover · 04/01/2010 19:11

justwhen the wii fit is pretty gentle to be honest, i like the yoga but feel guilty doing it because it isnt fat burning lol

cakeforbrains · 04/01/2010 19:39

Hi everyone I started WW online this morning. Weighed myself this morning and I was 12st 7 which gave me a shock . I've got 26 points per day (hurrah for BFing) and so far it's been ok, still got 6 points left after dinner so I can have a snack later - although snacking after the DSs are in bed has been my downfall recently. Told DH tonight and I thought he would laugh, but he's actually been pretty supportive. So far so good ...

kkey21 · 04/01/2010 21:21

Well done everyone-good luck for tommorow! xxx

pollywollydoodle · 04/01/2010 21:47

Today i learnt how often i normally stick food in my mouth! the number of times i've stopped myself reaching for something like a sweet/biscuit/piece of toast is ridiculous!

Also said no to crumble and custard for tea so, while this may not look like a traditional "dieting" day, it's good for me...no s's!

muesli/lentil and carrot soup with bread/beanburger, wedges and mixture of veg

pollywollydoodle · 04/01/2010 21:49

Littlemissbliss...tomorrow is another day!

northernmonkey · 04/01/2010 22:40

Evening everyone. Firstly can i say thankyou to you all for keeping this thread going. Even though we've all got our own personal weight loss journey ahead of us, it's really helping me LOADS

When i got on the scales they screamed get off i weighed 18st 1lb so that is scarey

Apart from my mishap of not having lunch and just eating cookies, i've done well so i'm pleased

speak to you all tommorow

right so one day done, and im all tracked in on WW online - cakeforbrain ive also got extra points for BF so not used to having so many!!

i was right and weighed in on my scales at 90kg well actually not that much of a . but today's gone well, felt like ive eaten loads but still have 3 points left over and im heading to bed now, plus i had a vodka and diet coke. of course, not planning on drinking all the way through, .

have a question for any WW people, i remember there used to be only a set number of points you could spend on alcohol/sweets per week, but i cant find any mention of it on the website. have they changed this??
