Ola!

I nearly started today after weighing myself this morning, but then remembered about the christmas pudding and cheese board still to eaten. So Friday it is!! Will add my stats then.

Will we stick to a Friday weigh in? I think that's a good day, then you can have a minor blowout at the weekend if needed, without too much damage

dixia · 30/12/2009 15:43

Sounds good to me Privet. I have started SW today, so I will get a 2 day headstart for my stats! I have already polished off the cake and cheese .

Hello
Can I join as well? I have 3/4 stone to lose and after trying weight watchers for the last 6 months and losing a total of 8lbs, and I did stick to it, no alchol, weighing food, breastfeed and exercise I'm gutted but now DS3 is nearly 7 months I need to lose this weight once and for all.

I'm not sure what diet to do SW doesn't work for me as I eat to much - even if it is good food it's like giving me a license to eat!

Was thinking of getting the diet plates and doing loads of power walking with the buggy but not sure how far I should be walking in a day and at what rate? Any ideas welcome

Nik

ModestlyglazedHam · 30/12/2009 19:34

Gwan then.
I'm going to lose 2 stone. But will start on Jan 2. I'm cutting out bread and pasta. Considering most of my current diet is bread and pasta - it shouldn't take too long.

PrivetDancer · 30/12/2009 20:16

Style - that sucks!! 6 months effort for 8lbs would really piss me off! I'm the same with sw - can tuck away a lot of baked potatoes and macaroni cheese
there is talk on another thread that dixia started about the harecombe diet, you might want to look at that? Never tried it myself but sounds interesting. Perhaps you've got one of those bodies that refuses to lose weight while breastfeeding

kissmummy · 30/12/2009 22:10

hello all, i'd like to join. I want to lose at least half a stone. i've been really indulgent over xmas, eating all sorts of rubbish, and it's time to get a grip. saw some interesting looking appetite suppressants in Boots today - am mega wary and have never used anything like that before but i might try them if good old fashioned less food/more exercise combo doesn't work.i hate hunger pangs!

PrivetDancer · 30/12/2009 23:07

Half a stone?

Lotkinsgonecurly · 30/12/2009 23:32

OK, I've got 5 to lose. There said it in public . Weight has sort of crept on since dd1 was born, was quite slim after having ds. Oh, god I want to lose weight. AM sick of eating crap. Can I join you?

PrivetDancer · 30/12/2009 23:43

Of course, hi lotkins
have you a plan? I'm going to do ww as it's worked in the past, but may try the harecombe thing for a few days boost once I've read the book. Also got an exercise bike on order!

havoc · 31/12/2009 00:01

Yep, I'm in. Before Christmas I needed to loose a good 2and a half stone, now its nearer 3 and I wasn't even trying!.

While pregnant, I was forced to go on a diabetic diet and it really work for me. I think I will try it again, its less strick than cutting out all carbs and easier to stick to.

TeamEdwardsSparklyBaubles · 31/12/2009 00:08

I'm in too.

I want to TTC DC3 in the next couple of years but would like to lose at least 3 stone before then. In an ideal world I would like to lose 4 and a half.
I've joined the gym and lost half a stone since sept (original target was 5 stone over 3 years!) but I think I lost fat but gained more muscle - I'm certainly more toned than before!

I'm going to gym at least twice a week, will try for an excercise or swim class once a week, and I have an exercise bike in the bedroom.
Not dieting (yet) but definitely cutting down on the crap!

SimpleAsABC · 31/12/2009 00:12

Please can I join?

My wii fit says I'm obese (which I knew any way).

11.5 ish stone, will update when i'm on it tomoro and i'm 5 ft 3.

I want to lose a stone to start with.

Help meeeeeeeeeeeee please

SpikySauce · 31/12/2009 01:01

Hi
Yeah it really sucks only losing 8lbs, have stopped BF now so no excuses at all, will have a look at the other thread.

Havoc - I went on a diabetic with DD2 and I was lighter after giving birth than before pregnant, if only i'd stayed on it oh well 4 years later and 3 stone on... do you have any info on the diet as i can't find mine or is it just a GI diet?

dixia · 31/12/2009 18:07

Hello all and Welcome . So pleased to have so many others to chat to about this - I have a really good feeling that we will do well together.

I totally relate to the inability to lose weight while breastfeeding. I just piled on the pounds when breastfeeding!

I think that the key to SW is maybe to have more red days than green. I really need to limit my carb intake, but feel that it is really nice to be able to have maybe 2 green days a week. My biggest problem is flapjacks anyway, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a flapjack day on SW .

Whether you have 15 stone or 1.5 stone or just a few pounds to lose, you are all welcome.

WI tomorrow! Now I know all the tricks, so no wearing big wellies and winter coats for Week 1 weigh in and then gradually removing over the next weeks and months until you are down to just your knickers!

From memory, this site is good:

www.storetour.co.uk/MenuPlanner.aspx

(sorry - can't do links), but you're right the GI diet is good.

For me its portion control, I've got to remember that I'm not a 15 stone trucker so shouldn't eat like one!

Stylelostinlabour · 31/12/2009 19:00

hehe havoc that's me as well - I have no full switch, I liken myself to labrador at buffet table...

I'm going to order the diet plate and bowl as well I think so I know what I should be eating, kind of re-educate my brain.

Roll on the new year and the new me (well the old one with the fat removed)

HNY

dixia · 31/12/2009 19:16

What is the diet plate and bowl? Is it a plate that shouts at you if you put chocolate on it? Mind you, chocolate doesn't really make it as far as the plate.

Sorry everyone, just wrote a quick message last night as I came on here late and was tired but wanted to post.

It's really good to see so many of us on here. It's really motivating.

I have bee dieting for 2-3 months now and have lost over 2 stone so far but I still have lots to go! I am doing Go Lower. I've tried different diets in the past and have been on and off of them but have managed to keep to this one at last!

moodlum · 31/12/2009 22:18

Can I be in too please? I have 3 stone to loose. Haven't decided quite how, but am determined.

Feel a bit sick because of all the chocolate i am helpfully 'finishing off', but good to go tomorrow when I can think a bit more clearly about weightloss

dixia · 01/01/2010 08:20

Welcome Moodlum, you have about the same to lose as me - glad to have you on board.

I will start the Weigh In...

Today 12 stone 12 pounds.
Target 10 stone 5 pounds.
