ok so I weighed in with you last week at 12st 11.

this week i weigh 12 stone 9.... i just ate a massive bowl of soup so i think i maybe be 1 or 2 lbs lighter but still Im very happy with a 2 lb loss.
I have been making a concious effort but have had a lot of slip ups but still if i concentrate really hard this week then hopefully next weeks loss will be more than 2 lbs.

mummymels · 12/01/2010 17:40

That's brilliant Charlotte.
Thanks PrivetDancer.

alarkaspree · 12/01/2010 18:04

I am a bit late but I'd like to join in too please. I'd like to lose 10lb by 20 March (beach holiday) and then a further 5 or so. I know it's not that much but I need some help to put in the effort - I have been trying to lose the same weight for my entire adult life I think!

Will weigh on Friday.

dixia · 12/01/2010 20:09

Hi everyone. Thanks for messages of support. Have been working away for 2 days, so haven't been on. Don't worry, I haven't fallen off the wagon. Still going strong. Have decided to give it 4 weeks before I change my plan. Which should give me enough time to see if it will work for me.

Having a bit of a tough evening as I really want quite a few glasses of wine. So have decided to just call this my first flexible syn day and have what I want.

TBH, I really don't mind if I lose weight slowly as long as I do lose it. I am so soooo keen not to put it back on and I have in the past lost weight quickly and put it back on quickly. I am trying to do something that I can sustain, so I am not depriving myself as much as I normally would. I am sticking to the rules of SW, but it is not as restrictive as some diets.

I will just give it 4 weeks and if I have lost a few pounds, well, that is a few pounds less than I was to start with.

I'll keep you all posted.

Welcome to alarkaspree

Hi everyone, weighed in today at 11st 9.5lb so thats a 2.5lb off this week.

Like you,Dixia, had my period (to my surprise: never know when it'll come because of my Mirena) and so finding it easier to resist this week. I definitely retain fluid premenstrually (mind you, that probably means I haven't lost ANY actual weight, just water!!).

I did SW before and it was erratic the first couple of weeks but then i lost steadily. I'm doing WW now because i find it more straightforward but SW actually worked quicker so stick with it

mummymels · 13/01/2010 22:01

Alarkaspree ? Welcome

Dixia ? That sounds a great attitude putting less pressure on yourself.

Jo - Well done on your weight loss.

PrivetDancer · 15/01/2010 10:05

I only lost 1 lb this week, so 13st 0. Bit disappointed but I have not felt at all deprived this week so it's not bad really. Plus I seem to have lost 2 inches off my waist!

havoc · 15/01/2010 13:42

Wow Privet 2 inches off your waist! i'm impressed.

I haven't lost an ounce this week, I can't have reached a plateau already - can I? Will work harding this week! Now the snow has gone I have no excuses to start moving more!

So still 12st 11

alarkaspree · 15/01/2010 14:42

I weighed 10st 4lb today. I have gained 4lb since this time in December. But was lazy and greedy over Christmas so not surprising really.

This week my eating has been unrestrained but I have started exercising again, will go for a run shortly too.

Privet 2 inches off your waist is fantastic - sounds like you have lost more fat than the scales suggest, which is really the point.

Dixia even though it's frustrating I think if you're losing weight slowly it's less likely to come back. You are doing great, keep going!

Havoc you lost lots of weight last week right? So it's just a glitch probably.

Well done to everyone else.

PrivetDancer · 15/01/2010 16:34

Thanks guys, yes I suppose you're right the inches do mean something. I take the weight more seriously for some reason.

havoc - no it can't be a plateau. As alarka says, must be a glitch! My weight fluctuates quite a bit from day to day - I'm sure you'll make up for it next week.

Stylelostinlabour · 15/01/2010 19:06

Hello Ladies

Well hopped on the scales this morning and another 4lb off so down to 14.0 hoping to get to 13.9 by Feb - feeling very motivated.

It's really working this time, less food more exercise! (and no bread or alchol in the week!)

PrivetDancer · 15/01/2010 20:39

wow - well done style! glad you've found something that's really working for you!

mummymels · 15/01/2010 22:08

PrivetDancer- the inches off your waist is brilliant.

Havoc ? you may make up for it next week by having a big weight loss.

Stylelostinlabour ? that?s brilliant

spookycharlotte121 · 17/01/2010 01:32

heya sounds like everyone is doing really well! I will weigh in on monday as I have done that the past 2 weeks.
Have beenr eally naughty this week and seem to be craving bread and giving into it too!

The thing is its actually quite simple to follow this whole low carb thing if you put your mind to it but my belly has been greedy this week and there have been meals out with family and meetings with friends which have resulted in naughty food!

Im not too worried as I know I can do this. I just have to behave from tomorrow onwards.

Keep up the good work everyone. Just think how amazing we are going to look by the summer! Very of the 2 inch loss too!!!

dixia · 17/01/2010 14:57

Hello all, sorry am late with the weigh in...

Right, well I lost 1 lb this week, so still going the right way. I had lost 2 lb in the week before New Year so I have now lost 3.5lb in 3 weeks, which I am happy with. If I carry on losing about a pound a week, then I will be very happy - and by christmas I will be like Kate Moss (well, maybe not...).

So current weight is 12 stone 10.5 pounds.

Well done to all - very good results all round. Oh and I have now had 2 sessions with my personal trainer (who is a friend of mine) and she says that if you are exercising as well as dieting then your weight loss will be slower, but your inches loss will be faster. I am exercising - so that is my excuse! Maybe that is what is happening with you Privet?

Anyway, at the end of the day, weight really means nothing - it is how you look that counts. So I think inches are more important than pounds.

dinkystinky · 18/01/2010 20:02

Hmm managed to lose all of 0.5lb last week - but hey, at least it means am now just under 11 stone so heading in the right direction.... Hope everyone else is doing well.

mummymels · 18/01/2010 23:17

Sorry on here quickly today as I'm tired but just wanted to let you know that I lost 3 lbs on weigh in today. Not wonderful but ok!

mummymels · 19/01/2010 19:46

Ooh quiet in here today. How are everyone doing?

I still feel really tired for some reason. I'm going to have my Go Lower beef chilli this evening with a peppermint tea afterwards and an early night.

Have a good evening everyone.

PrivetDancer · 19/01/2010 22:14

Well done dixia dinky and mels! All going in the right direction!

Dixia nice thought but I haven't done a bit of exercise, but that could well be the problem too exercise bike hopefully being delivered tomorrow and I have high hopes for actually using the thing!

dixia · 20/01/2010 17:57

Ah well, maybe your brain is exercising Privet?

I have had a good week this week and feel strong. Had another session with my trainer today and she beasted me through an hour of sweat. But as she is a friend and we have lots to chat about, it goes pretty quick.

Mummymels, 3lb is excellent! I don't know why you aren't pleased with that? I would be very pleased.

Hope all are well.

jo1958 · 20/01/2010 18:08

mummymels- 3lb is brilliant, well done. Everyone seems to be doing pretty well. I've only lost 0.5lb this week but happy with that. keep it up, folks.

mummymels · 21/01/2010 00:30

PrivetDancer - good luck with the exercise bike. DH got one a few months ago and I am ashamed to admit I haven't sat on it once, I really should as I see it sitting there every day.

Dixia - Well done on your good session with the trainer today. A personal trainer is a good friend to have! I know I am being silly, there is nothing wrong with 3lbs. I think cos I had a couple of weeks with good losses it sounds not much but really I can't have massive losses every week as that isn't realistic.

Jo - well done on your loss.

PrivetDancer · 21/01/2010 13:45

But 3lbs is a massive loss in a week if you ask me, that's half a stone you've lost in the last 2 weeks! How much more do you want to lose?

I finally got my bike yesterday and did half an hour on it watching the apprentice :-) it measures body fat too and apparently I am 39.6% fat iirc. Will be interesting to see if it goes down!

mummymels · 21/01/2010 18:17

Grr, just typing a message and DD deleted what I wrote.

You are right PrivetDancer, it is a good loss and I was being silly. When you put it like that I realise how silly I was. I am actually very pleased with how I am doing on this diet.

Your new bike sounds great. Half an hour on the first go is brilliant.

spookycharlotte121 · 21/01/2010 20:02

just so you know (forgot to put it on monday) i put 3lbs on this week

Im trying to be good now. Im off on holiday in a few weeks time.... nowhere exotic but it will still require me to wear a swimming costume and Im dreading it.

Its centre parcs so we are going to be in the pool every day and I have very chunky thighs which are covered in stretch marks

Im hoping that If I can lose a few lbs each week then by the time I go I will have a bit more confidence.
