Dixia
Dont have sweet tooth at all, down to working for cadburys once while pregnant and now can't stand the smell of the stuff!

I think(hope) I eat healthly just eat to much of it and wine so SW didnt help me as you can eat so much food.

dixia · 04/01/2010 18:15

Welcome Spooky and Dinky

Spooky - I am about the same stats as you and also want to lose the same as you and also doing SW. So I would really be pleased to track your progress. Have you done SW before? I am doing it online, rather than at the groups. I am on Day 6 and actually finding it really easy!

I thought you would say that, Style. I guess if you are allowed to have everything free that is causing the trouble in the first place, then it is not particularly helpful. Still, I would have been really cross if I had done two weeks on a diet and put on half a stone.

hi dixia I have done SW before and find it does work although its more of a change in lifestyle than a diet.... you have to keep it up for the long term if you want the weight to stay off.
Mine is held in a gym so im hoping I might be able to get some exercise before or after the session to help with my weight loss. If not I will be doing dvds at home. Its a bit hard to get out and walk at the moment as everywhere is so icey!
Im not starting till weds but am looking forward to it. I really really want to lose this weight. Like you say it will be interestin to see how we both do considering we are in similare situations

Hope everyone is doing well!

mummymels · 05/01/2010 23:06

Hi everyone

I have missed loads since I was here on Friday!

My stats are. Starting weight 14 stone 10 lbs, current weight 11 stone 4 lbs, target weight 9 stone.

I am so pleased that I lost 6lbs this week. What a great start to the year.

dinkystinky · 06/01/2010 08:49

How did you manage to do that Mummymels? I'm not drinking, not eating junk, exercising - and still feel like I'm putting on weight... is almost like I'm pregnant (which I'm not by the way)

Stylelostinlabour · 06/01/2010 17:37

mummymels
wow well done you how long has it taken you to get down from 14st 10 to 11st 4lb? What diet have you been following and doing?

I'd be happy with that weight for me

dixia · 06/01/2010 19:36

I've hardly lost anything this week. i thought that the first week you were supposed to lose loads

Well done mummymels you are doing really well.

Off for another gin and slimline.... [gin grin]

I'm the same dixia, I was going to do a mid-week weigh, but daren't as I know I haven't lost anything. But to be honest, I haven't cut back as much as I should and haven't done any excerise, so what do I expect!

havoc · 06/01/2010 21:14

Well done mummymels! You'll be 9stone before you know it!

mummymels · 06/01/2010 21:51

Dinkystinky / Stylelostinlabour ? I am doing Go Lower. It?s a low carb diet and for once a diet is working for me! I?ve been on it for 3 months.

Dixia / Havoc ? I remember once reading somewhere but can?t remember where that some people have the big loss in the second week. I can?t even remember the reason now but hold on as it may suddenly catch up with you next week.

Stylelostinlabour · 07/01/2010 11:49

Thanks MummyMels I'm off to look at the Go Lower - think this may work for me as just hopped on the scales and I've lost 5lbs this week just by cutting out bread and eating less.

Is it hard to follow?

jo1958 · 07/01/2010 18:19

done my first weigh in: 4 days and lost 1 and half pounds. Unfortunately spent wednesday making bread for the first time AND cake so might be all back on and the rest next week. Good luck toeveryone

mummymels · 07/01/2010 21:19

That's brilliant Stlelostinlabour. I find Go Lower really easy because they provide everything for you. The first few days are a bit hard before your body goes into ketosis and I did have some headaches but since I got going I have found it so easy to keep to and don't feel hungry at all which is a first for me as in the past I have found it really hard to diet.

Well done j01958 on your weight loss. Don't beat yourself up over one day, I'm sure over a week it won't make too much difference.

PrivetDancer · 08/01/2010 10:19

ok - my weigh in:

13st 1 lb! I've lost 5lb

Had gained and lost again 1lb by Monday on my failed WW attempts, then started zoe harcombe monday morning and lost the 5lb since then.

Looking forward to getting under the 13 stone barrier next week

havoc · 08/01/2010 12:25

Well done Privet!

Me next:

12st 11 lb. 3 lb lost.

Not brilliant, but better than expected. I've been trapped in the house all week and not had chance to do any exercise. Well, apart from walking toddler pace in the snow!

PrivetDancer · 08/01/2010 12:49

nice one havoc! especially as you didn't think you'd lost any!

Dixia - you said you hadn't lost much the other day, but what is your official number after a full week?

Stylelostinlabour · 08/01/2010 16:31

Well done everyone, of all the months I wasted on ww and only lost 8lb I feel very motivated into my second week with a 5lb loss heres hopeing for another 4lb next week then I'll have beaten by ww result - still loads to go but little targets seem to work for me.

Keep up the good work over the weekend everyone!

dixia · 08/01/2010 19:04

Hmmm. So have been avoiding the weigh in - and as I have stuck to the diet totally I am attributing my v poor weight loss to the fact that it is that time of the month - or nearly. Is that a real reason or just an old wives tale?

I lost 0.5 lb this week, so now am 12 stone 11.5 pounds.

Hoping that week 2 will be better. Had my first session with a personal trainer (good friend of mine) today. And still feeling positive.

Well done everyone else, by the way - some excellent weight losses happening - big up the apples!

mummymels · 08/01/2010 22:35

PrivetDancer / Havoc / Stylelostinlabour - Brilliant first week loss.

Dixia - you may find that your big weight loss happens in the second week. I can't remember why but I remember reading somewhere that that can happen.

dixia · 08/01/2010 22:37

Hoping so Mummymels

OP posts:
PrivetDancer · 08/01/2010 23:00

Sorry dixia

well there a couple of options, could well be that it's your time of the month - it can make me gain a couple of pounds, certainly. Or perhaps the diet doesn't suit you, I never had big losses with sw, and it certainly didn't work for style! I'd stick with it for another week and see how you go.

Have a think about what you're eating too, I've no idea what you are doing but with me I think the problem was that I was eating a lot of things just because they were free, or to use up my sins, but the calories can really stack up if you're not careful. Or try a week without using any sins - that should get you a big loss!

dinkystinky · 11/01/2010 11:01

Hurrah - lost 3.5lbs at last. Dixia - I tend to plateau or put on weight abit for a week or two and then a chunk comes off at once. Might you be the same? Definitely worth sticking with it as it will come off eventually.

mummymels · 11/01/2010 22:03

Well done dinkystinky.

I had weight in today and lost 4 lbs so am now 11 stone. I haven't been this low since pre children and it feels brilliant. I am really starting to feel better in myself now.

PrivetDancer · 11/01/2010 22:25

Woohoo! Well done mummymels and dinky!
Dixia are you ok? Don't fall off the wagon, give it til this Friday!
