yeah, I should be losing 6lbs a week, but I seem to hold onto my blubber!

WideWebWitch · 15/06/2005 20:43

I have had an ok day:

1 piece toast, marmite, olive spread
5 mini marmite rice cakes @ 7cals each
small handful grapes
hummus and roasted veg sandwich, 256 cals
50g smoked salmon
3 cloves of roasted garlic left over from last nights roasted veg and a couple of roasted carrots
1 wholemeal pitta filled with turkey breast, green pepper and lettuce, cooked in v small amount of olive oil
1 lemon biscuit dp made this pm, ingredients were flour, lemon zest, egg, sugar, small amt olive spread so not too terrible

Once I've lost another 3lb I will have lost 2 stone in total. But still a looooong way to go. I bought a GI diet book today and it seems more or less to be what I'm doing anyway except I have to forget about sesame snaps and raisins. No booze since Sunday.

motherinferior · 15/06/2005 20:50

Oh, I have been a BAD BAD BAD MI, swigging wine and finishing birthday choccies. I do seem to have lost a pound or two, back to nine stone (am a real shorarse btw, of the sort that 'should' weigh about eight according to some of the more sadistic charts) but would like to lose more and dip well below nine stone. Which isn't exactly likely, is it, in current regime.

Off swimming/cycling again tomorrow.

motherinferior · 15/06/2005 20:51

The exercise is helping the general clothes-fitting, though

Puff · 15/06/2005 21:02

I have not had one bar of choccy this week

Puff · 16/06/2005 22:31

Jools, I need to lose another 4lbs by the 25th June to hit my self imposed target for my holiday. I've been dieting for months now, so every pound is hard, despite being good and exercising!

marthamoo · 16/06/2005 22:32

Cod I'm having wine!

JoolsToo · 16/06/2005 22:34

good on you - well done!

I can only try and emulate you - but I love me toast!

Puff · 16/06/2005 22:34
Envy
JoolsToo · 17/06/2005 10:00

I have lost 2 lbs

am very happy with that - onward and upward!

Puff · 17/06/2005 10:44

Well done Jools!

aloha · 17/06/2005 12:12

Ok, I need a bit of inspiration before I go out and get myself two bottles of Chardonnay and a big cake. I haven't lost an ounce since I lost 4lbs early on. I am half salad, half breastmilk atm (a lovely image for you all. I do hope you aren't having an early lunch.) yet the weight Is Not Shifting. Feeling v v demoralised. I am HUGE. DD is also massive but in a good way - 99.6 centile for height so she is clearly thriving but I wish I wasn't also so bloody thriving. This is getting downright depressing. Today's intake so far - one bowl of Just Right cereal with semi-skimmed and three cups of tea.

bundle · 17/06/2005 12:16

the only time i've ever lost a significant amt of weight was by eating loads but just things like rice (lots of water to puff it up) with unlimited amounts of veg, no alcohol, no fats (just lemon juice on salads) and also only small amounts of meat. wouldn't recommend this for you aloha, wot with dd being so wee. (pity i don't practise what i preach )

aloha · 17/06/2005 12:34

I do feel obliged to eat healthily and not starve myself - I take vitamins and fish oils etc as I am her only source of nutrition atm. But a sensible diet is simply not making me any thinner and frankly, I feel so upset about it, esp with the warm weather coming.

bundle · 17/06/2005 12:37

ikwym aloha. there was a point after having dd1 when i reached my goal weight (well goal "look" as don't weigh myself, it's more how i feel really) she was probably about 5 mths old and my boots were baggy on my calves but that is but a dim and distant memory. I never even reached that point with dd2 despite exclusive bf etc

Puff · 17/06/2005 13:51

aloha, have you tried cutting wheat out of your diet - I discovered that this stops me from losing weight big time.

motherinferior · 17/06/2005 15:43

Oh Aloha, honey, I do sympathise. I got so low after DD1 - nothing shifted at all for months, while women from my antenatal group were swanning around saying 'oh, he feeds so much it's just dropped off...' (GRRRRR ).

hang on, honey, it WILL shift. And I have to say you are looking incredibly blooming and glossy in any case, you really are.
