Thought i'd set something up, as so many of us are interested in joining.

Not sure what goes on in these threads, but guess a good starting point is for everyone to state how much weight they want to lose? Then i guess we need to decide whether to just update each other on progress as and when, or whether we should have a communal weighin say on the 1st of each month.

I guess if anyone has any healthy recipes, or exercise tips, then its a good place to share them too. Also a good place to boast when you've eaten something healthy rather than heading for the biscuit tin , or when you've dropped a dress size or got back in pre-preg clothes (I've had to go and buy more clothes as i'm nowhere near my pre-pg size).

Thanks Dandy. You've just given me the excuse I need to dig into the Victoria Sponge DS made me bake today.

Ah, so if we are starting next Monday, I don't feel too bad about the mint aero i scoffed earlier.

I have the davina DVD- I asked MIL to get it me for my birthday in Jan (to do the pg workout) and not looked at it yet . Will need to make more effort...

OP posts:
Kafka · 18/06/2009 22:35

I have the Davina workout will dust it down. I am so bushed by the time I get my two to bed I just need wine but now it will be davina.

Why is it so hard to loose weight? all i have eaten today is shredded wheat with milk, soup and rice for lunch, one cup cake, mackerel and brown rice, walked for 4o mins, and drunk half bottle of wine

I do think it is sad that I have spent all of my adult life and some of my childhood worrying about my weight and that so many other women do the same, I am determined that my children will not have this issue.

SpangleMaker · 18/06/2009 23:02

Kafka I'm with you on the wine - or at least I would be if I wasn't bf-ing - that's a big downfall of mine. Also agree with you re spending so much time worrying about weight. In my early 20's I was convinced I was fat as I compared myself to skinny, willowy types. All I could see were pudgy arms and huge arse. I look at pictures from then now and can see there was nothing wrong with my figure at all, and I'm I didn't appreciate that at the time.

Can I join in too?

I would like to be to be back to my pre-preg weight of 55kg, I am 5ft6 and currently 70 kgs, was a size 8-10 am now a 14.

I am planning to cut out the rubbish I eat and use the Wii Fit, starting tomoz!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 22/06/2009 08:43

I've just eaten a Finest All-Butter Croissant .

Not the best start. I have to make cakes for DD1 later too.

Need to lose a good couple of stone. Sob!

flippineck · 22/06/2009 09:26

Well, I'm off to a good start too...toast with butter and honey. 3 slices, bah.

I want to get back to around 10 stone, currently 11 and a half, I'm 5 foot 7.

I lost quite a lot of weight 7 years ago doing Rosemary Conley - classes, low fat and calorie counting. Worked before so will try again, but can't go to the classes this time so you lot will have to be my motivators please! Does anyone know how many extra calories you get for breast feeding? I assume you do get extra.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 22/06/2009 09:36

Checking in...

I'm 5'6" and was overweight pre-pg at around 11st 10. Went up to just over 14st whilst pg and now 12st 5.

Just sharing that is quite scary - I v rarely admit my weight to anyone

Until DS is above his birth weight and gaining well, I don't think I'll diet particularly. That should only be 7-10 days though hopefully. What I do need to start now though is getting out and about for short walks more which will help.

Good luck everyone!

llareggub · 22/06/2009 10:02

Just checking in too!

I've just had a handful of peanuts to keep me going. Up at 6am this morning so I had an early breakfast. Now off to do some housework before picking DS up from school. Planning to hit the park later with the football. Anything to move around more I think!

Tummum · 22/06/2009 10:33

Hello everyone. [Smug emoticon] just done 7 minutes on the X-trainer. DS woke up so I had to stop (great excuse, eh?!). That's the first proper exercise I have done in a year . Blinking starving now though, and dreaming of chocolate and cake!

SpangleMaker · 22/06/2009 11:10

flippineck I heard it was 500 extra calories - woohoo!

Still haven't fixed scales so I haven't done a weigh in. But I've been trying on some pre-pg skirts and am pleased to be getting the size 12 stuff on although they're a bit snug and sitting high up on my waist. I must have lost a bit because I tried said skirts on a few weeks ago and couldn't do them up.

As well as weight loss I'm trying to re-vamp my image more generally. I was feeling a bit dowdy pre-pg and was beginning to feel very down about things last week. But today I'm having a cut & colour (leaving H with DH at work - yay, meeee time!) and I've ordered a couple of half price skirts from Hobbs

Dandy I did quite well with WW with DS1. I just ate too much cake in the end! I'm off for a cream tea tomorrow so I really must get some exercise in at some point.

On a better note I tried on some size 14 trews yesterday and while they were a leetle bit tight, I did them up. I cannot remember the last time I was a size 14, so I was very tempted to buy them to keep me on the straight and narrow.

I have given away my bigger clothes so now I have to carry on losing weight.

llareggub · 22/06/2009 11:33

Crikey, just noticed that there are 604 calories in a 100g of peanuts. It would be soooooo easy to eat the lot during the day. I must find something else to keep my blood sugar maintained. I hate it when I get hungry around mid-day. Any ideas for a healthy snack?

Tummum · 22/06/2009 15:25

Llare well done you on the size 14 trews. I've done the same as you and thrown out (well, given away) my maternity clothes so that I am not tempted into the nice comfy stretchy trousers.

LoobyLou36 · 22/06/2009 18:03

FiKelly · 22/06/2009 18:08

just checking in.. still 176lbs which is 12st 8 I think.. I was 163lbs before having g but I was still carrying weight from ds.. I'd love to be back to no more than 154lbs again

I'm going back to doing the low gi diet as it was working pre getting pregnant with g.

I found oat cakes a really good hunger satisfyer as a snack on the run..
