lucifera i think sometimes it can be some kind of evil trick when you eat just a little bit and you put on more than you expect. i believe if you haven't been eating many carbs and then you eat them you may retain water which could explain the extra weight which you can easily lose again. it is disappointing though when you've been working so hard. what was you goal weight and how much have you lost?

Hi daisylula 1 pound is a good loss. It is in right direction and they do say if you lose it gradually you are more likely to keep it off.

Congrats ducdo on another pound lost and for getting to your goal and now passing it! you must be pleased. I suppose the longer we get into it the harder it becomes to stay motivated i think it's particularly hard when you have lost some weight and are feeling better and then the incentive is slightly less than before.

had my first successful day in a week with ff and have stayed within the calorie limit and also went for a jog this eve. 4.2 miles which i'm pleased about according to walkjogrun and burnt approx 400 cals etc I've been exploring the website this eve and trying to work out possible routes.

lilianfox · 23/06/2009 00:28

p.s. i did weigh in today but no loss but as I have eaten so much am not surprised just pleased i haven't put weight on! Lets hope for a loss next monday though. Although... I am away again for the weekend but I've really got to stick to ff while away as I have quite a few breaks coming up and I can't just lose the plot every time!

daisylula what is your goal?

Lucifera · 23/06/2009 12:51

Lilianfox, thanks for message. I started at 11.3 and am now 10.3 (but yesterday 10.4). You are probably right and I know it's silly to fret over the odd lb, but I would be v upset if I started regaining all that weight so soon. I'm not really trying to lose any more as I know I'd never maintain it and god obv didn't mean me to have thin legs (wistful emoticon).

lilianfox · 24/06/2009 07:46

Morning

Wow Lucifera a stone then that's fantastic.

I can't wait til I lose a stone... at the moment I can only imagine as I have been stuck at my current for a while as I lost my motivation after holiday.

Had a good day monday, reasonable day yesterday although i think i went over my cals and couldn't get out for a run in the eve. Going to give it another try today.

Good luck today to us with ff.

Lucifera · 24/06/2009 08:35

yes indeed, good luck to all! It's lovely and sunny here in London.

ducdo · 29/06/2009 16:53

well another week has passed and I have stayed the same - kind of expected so not too bothered.

Hope everyone else is doing OK. It's boiling in London so all this hot weather is making we want lots of chilled glasses of wine and snacks! Not ideal but oh well!

beaniebaby25 · 30/06/2009 14:41

I'm boiling hot too Ducdo... but all the skinnie minnies out and about is giving me extra impotus to be good. Getting boring though, I've hardly lost anything. I've changed tactics and am now measuring myself... not change yet though since last wednesday. Scales haven't moved either, although I'm trying to keep up the exercise.

Too hot to do exercise now though intit

drlove8 · 30/06/2009 22:23

ive not posted here for a while, but have been sticking with the focus! And ive got down to 8 stone 12 pounds WOOO HOOO! .... another 6lb to go and ive hit target! .Best thing is im not really dieting, just cut out the junk tbh - so i still get to eat . (i was 9st 10lb back in april)- has it shifted too fast? and how do you keep at a stable weight when you reach it? im thinking thats the hard bit.

Lucifera · 03/07/2009 11:40

drlove8, big well done to you! You're right, keeping stable after weight loss is hard. Perhaps someone should start a weight loss maintenance thread ...
I just had a few days in Denmark and was offered cake every day, would have been rude to refuse .... but I tried not to go overboard and have only gained 1lb.

ducdo · 04/07/2009 20:21

I'm the same, not posting on here as often but feeling on top of things with food focus and seem to be maintaining my weight loss which is great.

i say that as I'm slurping my way through a glass of wine and munching on pringles oops and yes it is far too hot to go out running with this heat in London but I've got a 5k run to do Wednesday evening in Battersea Park so need to get atleast one more training session in before then me thinks.

everyone seems to be doing really well and yes it is hard to stay on track but if we really don't want to go back to old eating habits and that extra weight, we will stick with it ... keep it up everyone

beaniebaby25 · 05/07/2009 14:38

hi everyone

Thought I'd check in, not been on this thread much. I've started slim fast this week, which i can also enter onto food focus so i'm still using the site to log my exercise and food. Last weds I weighed myself... and realised i'd lost no weight overall in the four weeks I'd been using the website. So decided to do slim fast. they were on offer in boots so i stocked up on the milkshakes and they're pretty good. Haven't done a weigh in uyet - will report back on Weds.

I also defied the heat and went for a run this morning - five miles and felt ok. My holiday is looming, two weeks on Tuesday, so it's really last chance saloon. Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend!

lilianfox · 06/07/2009 00:36

Hi there

Yes haven't posted either for a while. I have started over again and due for a weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed. Been out running when i can and had a swim this eve.

Ducdo good luck with run on weds glad you still sticking to it!

beanie when's your weigh in?

beaniebaby25 · 06/07/2009 07:49

ooh yes ducdo good luck with your 5k on weds! organised runs are so much better than trying to drag yourself round the local park. Hope it goes well

lilianfox my weigh in is on Wednesday. Fingers crossed. Good luck with yours!

ducdo · 06/07/2009 12:25

afternoon all.. lost another pound today WOOPIE . very pleased down to 9st 10 now which would have seemed a mirable a few months ago. got quite used to seeing a '9' on the scales now instead of '10' which is nice!

London is cooler today so will be getting my last training run in tonight before the big run on Wednesday evening. Well, 5k so hardly a marathon but better than nothing!

Have a good week everyone

ducdo · 06/07/2009 12:26

oops 'miracle'

lilianfox · 07/07/2009 01:04

Hi

Excellent ducdo you've done so well to get down to 9.10 you've been consistent all along so i'm sure you won't have probs keeping it off.

I weighed in this am at 9.4 so i've lost 4 lbs this week which i am pleased about but i also know it's my first proper week in ages so alot of that will be water etc but it's in the right direction.

Been out for a run this eve gonna try and do some sort of activity everyday dd permitting. I was abit picky today with food it's so easy to get complacent. I've noticed I tend to get quite hungry when I'm tired for some reason even if i've already eaten.

Beaniebaby good luck for weds weigh in.

Here's to another good week x

ducdo · 07/07/2009 07:46

sneaked on the scales again this morning and was 9st 9 .. even better. although I won't really count it as my proper weigh in is Monday. was good to see though!

beaniebaby25 · 12/07/2009 12:33

Hi everyone

Hope you're all having nice weekends? After a week on slim fast for lunch and reduced snacking I'm now down to 8 stone 10, which i'm really pleased with. Feel slimmer and for the first time have seen results and feel spurred on even more. So i'm pleased

I've also started a new regime at the gym which involves more weight training - apparently brilliant and burning more calories while not doing much. Have one week until holiday, where I think i'll feel ok about being in a bikini... for the first time in a while.

Everyone here is doing really well, it's good to see isn't it

Lucifera · 14/07/2009 13:45

hello all - not posting much but trying hard to maintain weight loss. I've actually lost a bit more over the past couple of weeks, was 9st 11 this morning which must be the least I've weighed for many years. But haven't cracked the exercise thing ... congratulations and good luck as appropriate to all.
Ducdo, how was your big run??

reducedfatkettlechip · 14/07/2009 15:15

hi everyone, have been away for weeks, 2 short breaks (one for a funeral though, so not so good) and a holiday. Sounds like everyone is doing so well, I had got within 1lb of target and then munched my body weight in croissants on holiday and have about 5lb to shift.

I've not been using FF but might go back on just to blitz this weight. Did a 5 mile run this morning which should help but have the Tesco man coming in a minute with lots of goodies so I need to try and be strong!! I know how easy it is to fall back into old snacking habits and am determined I won't as it's been lovely fitting into all my summer clothes again. I've had a massive clearout so my whole wardrobe is full of 10's and 12's. If I put on weight I really won't have anything to wear so I'm hoping that will be incentive enough as I like my clothes!

Lastorders are you still about? How are you getting on?

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 14/07/2009 15:45

Anyone out there?

Am back although slightly changed to slimfast/ff combo for at least a few weeks to give me a boost.
Having shake for breakfast, one for lunch, fruit for snacks and a calorie controlled (ready )meal with extra veg or salad and again fruit for snack in evening, which is around 1300, 500 less than I did on FF previously

No excerise other than pushing double buggy around daily. CBA and would rather watch TV and MN!

Have lost my password to FF though

Lucifera · 15/07/2009 09:03

Hello to TOMPD and RDKC - Kettle, sorry about the funeral. TOMPD, will FF not send you a password reminder? All these friggin passwords and usernames for different websites drive me crazy - do you think one day we'll all have microchip implants that we just wave at the screen?
Onwards and upwards (or downwards).

ducdo · 15/07/2009 12:44

hi there, good to hear from you all. lucifera I did the 5.6k run on Wednesday evening in Battersea Park and it was brill. Lots of runners and I came through the finish line at 30:31 mins which I was v.chuffed with as last year it took me 36:4 mins so my hard work and FF has paid off!!

kettle I am same as you, enjoying fitting into size 10/12 clothes and worry about slipping into old habits. Seem to be weighing myself every other day to keep an eye on things, as every now and again I munch through far too many pringles!

DH has bought a treadmill which is currently sitting in our lounge not sure thats the best place for it but know if it goes in the garage it won't be used! He refuses to run around the streets for fear of being spotted my family/friends so sweats it out in the lounge. My running and weight loss has spurred him on .. not that he really needed to lose weight. Anyway, a good thing as means I have NO EXCUSE now even when he's working nights and I can't get someone to have the kids ... !!

reducedfatkettlechip · 15/07/2009 21:12

Ooh I'd love a treadmill! Well done on your run ducdo, that's a great time.

I've just eaten a Tesco finest choc chip shortbread with my evening cup of coffee. God only knows how many calories
that contained, I daren't even look. I did a 3mile run this morning but I bet it hasn't eeven touched it!! Tomorrow is another day!

Lucifera · 16/07/2009 09:04

The thing is, I think we need to be able to eat the odd chocolate chip shortbread without getting too anxious or thinking it will automatically lead to the rest of the packet and putting all the weight back on (response obv to Kettle but this is a big issue for me too). A healthy attitude to food would mean nothing being taboo but mostly making healthy choices, wouldn't it? I know that when I've lost weight I'm obsessive about food as much as when I'm eating for the Olympics and thinking all the time about what I can shove in my gob next. It's a seesaw pattern and I would like to get out of it.
