Well done lastorders that is brilliant loss, put me to shame with no loss this week. Hope everyone's doing OK getting back on track .. keep us posted with weigh in progress.

beanie you can still have a nice evening and just maybe up the exercise tomorrow if you can. a small blip shouldn't cause too much damage to your routine.. enjoy your evening, you're probably out now whilst I am in the kitchen slurping my way through a glass of wine before putting kids to bed so I can do the ironing whilst watching launch of Big Brother. sad existence I know

yes well done last orders

Thanks Ducdo. I was relatively contained last night, although i did consume quite a large amount of red wine. but the food i ate included a big spinach salad to start so wasn't too bad, will enter it today.

WEighed myself this morning and I put on a pound, which i'm disappointed about. Brings my total loss so far to just one pound. But then my period is due... still not good enough so.

I've just changed my targets on FF, so my new goal is 1.5lbs per week, which gives me calorie allowance of 1149, which might make me lose a bit quicker.

ducdo hope you had a nice evening - how was BB? I wont be watching this year but still like to be interested from afar...

Annner · 05/06/2009 18:09

Arse. No loss this morning. Period is here, though. Well done to everyone else who has, though! (lost weight, that is, not got their period...)

I've been nearly as good as gold, so something should have gone, but no. I've come within my nett calories on all but four days of the last fourteen, sometimes well under, and overall I am well in: target is 1464 with average actual 1322, so some should have gone. And if anything, I am underestimating my exercise.

Yesterday was the most manic day, ever. My poor little pedometer was frenetic with its 15,500 steps that I did. Playschool sponsored walk/run at the athletics stadium in the morning (DD did SEVEN laps, running most of the them with water stops in between. Blimey. 2.8K!) and then to the park for an hour or so. Then off to town for her swimming lesson before cycling to my Pilates class in the evening. I was bushed.

However, I would have featured highly on the smug-ometer as I jogged comfortably ish nround my seven laps and even zoomed parts of it. It makes me very determined now to start Couch to 5k once term is over. It will give me a good project for the holidays as there is no Pilates then and I am useless about practising it at home.

But I still didn't lose even half a blimmin pound. I really hope that it is all period bloat and extra heavy duty uterus lining. Have a good weekend, everyone. We are going to Ask with the kids tomorrow evening. What do you think: a salad (risky dressings) or a tomato based pasta dish? I can't find any nutritional information on their menu online.

Lucifera · 08/06/2009 07:26

Morning all and a big BUMP for this thread! I wondered where you'd all gone this morning; I've been away over a week. Staying at a riding school in Cornwall, full board and the food offered was stupendous, lunch on our first day (in 26 degrees) thick soup, big garlic and herb rolls, jacket potatoes, grated cheese, coleslaw and mixed salad, followed by brownies and Viennese Fancies (is that what they're called? those shortbread-y biscuits sandwiched with butter cream). I was there with a friend who eats very abstemiously at all times so we had to talk them down gradually to offer a reasonable amount so we weren't wasting too much. I can't believe anyone would eat all that and then get on a horse!
Anyway it was a brilliant week and this morning when I got on the scales, ta-daaa, another 2lb off so I'm only 1lb off my target weight of 10.3.
I'm not going to enter on FF any more but will obviously be trying to lose a tiny bit or at least stay where I am, and will carry on looking in here for moral support.
Happy Monday to all!

beaniebaby25 · 08/06/2009 12:08

Wow Lucifer congrats on your fabulous loss, despite having a wonderful, food-filled week You must be so chuffed! Sounds like a great week away, glad you had a nice time.

I haven't lost much more, weighed myself this morning and I've lost a further 0.5lb. Woop di doo. I feel like I've really stalled, I can't understand why I'm not losing. I've even started a thread with a shameless plea for appetite supressants, I'm that desperate.

Mind you, I did a mammoth session at the gym yesterday (on a Sunday, get me ) and I think I am feeling and looking slimmer, but the scales aren't reflecting that. I guess it's the age-old adage of muscle weighing more than fat, blah de blah. Still got a weigh way to go though before I'll be happy in that bikini...

Lucifera · 08/06/2009 12:31

Thanks Beanie! Congrats to you on gym sessions; exercise is something I really need to get to grips with, as although I'm thinner, I'm very flabby.
Hope the scales do justice to your efforts soon.

HuffwardlyRudge · 08/06/2009 14:31

Oh dear. Fell off the wagon a bit and then got a tummy bug. Am not quite up to eating normal food yet but thought I might try a run later, and then think about recording the day's food for the first time in a while.

Am back on board, anyway.

ducdo · 09/06/2009 07:48

Well done Lucifera and you too beanie .. half a pound is better than a gain, it all helps.

I lost 1 pound yesterday so down to 9 st 12 and feeling really pleased as reached my goal. although now as I didn't find it too hard, I am thinking could I get down to 9st 8 .. we shall see. Like you lucifera, I am not entering in FF at the mo but still keeping on track and running 3 x a week so all seems to be going OK.

Lucifera · 09/06/2009 09:00

Yay for you Ducdo!! Huffward hope you feel better soon and good luck with eating and exercise!

ducdo · 09/06/2009 14:21

well I've just been out for work lunch with colleagues and consumed 2 glasses of wine, fish cakes and salad (no chips, well done me) + chocolate roll mini bite + choc cornflake mini bite from M&S (maybe around 6 of those .. oh dear). Now sitting at desk feeling little bit tiddly and doubt the wine and choc bites will be good but hey ho.

off out tonight for chinese meal with my Dad so better write off today and get back on track tomorrow! oops

reducedfatkettlechip · 09/06/2009 15:52

hi everyone, well done lastorders and everyone else with really good weight loss!! Mine has slowed down a lot and it's frustrating as I'm nearly there - 3 pounds to go, 19 down! Am exactly at pre ds1 weight which is nice. Am going to have a good clothes clear out as I probably won't lose much more now, so anything which doesn't fit, isn't staying!

I did Race for Life at the Eden project on Sunday which was brilliant, people don't normally applaud as I run by!! I managed to run the whole thing (it's a hilly route!) it in 25 minutes which would have been unheard of 3 months ago.

Hols very soon, and all the temptation which goes with it. Have stopped entering all my food on FF, as after 8 weeks I had a pretty good idea of what I was eating, but I am having a few nibbles of biscuits here and there so might do a week of FF if my weight starts going back up.

Am going to have a weight threshold of 10st 7, if I ever reach that again I'm going straight back on FF. Fingers crossed.

beaniebaby25 · 10/06/2009 07:58

hi everyone
well done ducdo for reaching your goal - great stuff. Don't worry about yesterday, you've done brilliantly.

My weight loss seems to have haltered - am still at 9 stone 1 - but my body is changing. It's weird, but i do look really different. waist is slimmer, havent got those side flanks that pop over my jeans when i sit down - well at least i can't grab them anymore! seem to have dissolved

So... i think the gym is def working and i do feel happier about the way i look so i've decided to try and go by the way i feel/the way my clothes fit rather than judge by weight loss alone. Cos my body is changing but if the scales dont show anything i gt gloomy, when really i think i am making progress. Although of course i will continue to monitor my weight and still enter my foods, which i find so useful.

well done reducedfat for running the Race for Life. It's great running in a race isn't it, completely different to running round the park. I'm entering the Run to the Beat half marathon in September and very excited!!

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday

Lucifera · 10/06/2009 08:57

Well done for the race, Kettlechip! That's one thing I'm sure I'll never do (run). And congratulations to all for weight loss and perseverance. Beanie, I'm sure you're right to go with how you look and feel rather than scales; it's not good to be weighing obsessively (and must stop doing it myself).
However am pleased to share that this morning I had lost the last lb, hurrah!
Now begins the grim task of maintenance ...

beaniebaby25 · 10/06/2009 09:52

ooh well done lucifera for reaching your target!!! (and !)

How do you plan to maintain your current weight? can you program in 'no loss' into FF and will it give you a maintenance amount of cals? Do you think you'll be eating in a similar way to now?

Lucifera · 10/06/2009 13:56

hello Beanie! thanks - I only wanted to lose a stone from the start so didn't seem too hard. From past form I will stay at this weight for a few months, then start eating for England again and put it all back on very quickly. I so want not to do that. I will try to carry on eating like I am now, but I don't think I could stand to keep inputting to FF. Wish me luck (and willpower, whatever it takes).

HuffwardlyRudge · 10/06/2009 17:39

Well done Kettlechip - 25 minutes is bloody impressive!!

Well done Lucifer - you must be feeling pretty good .

Well done everyone else. I wonder how much we've lost collectively?

I am happy to say my BMI is now 24.9, making me 'Normal Weight', not overweight. Not quite at goal yet though.

ducdo · 10/06/2009 21:00

Well done everyone, all doing really well and sure you will all be just fine with maintaining the loss.

After reading huffwardly's BMI is now 'normal' thought I'd have a nose at mine and even though I've done well, am still in the 'overweight' section with BMI of 24.5 which is a bit grim.

Part of me thinks the BMI thing is a load of old as even though I'm 5ft 2 and weigh 9st 12 (after losing 10lbs from start) I think if I actually was around 8st I would look quite ill. oh well ...

PS 25 mins for Race for Life is brilliant, well done beanie . I've got a 5k run next month but expecting it to be more like 35 mins .. watch this space

alicecrail · 12/06/2009 08:35

Hello, can i join you?

I was on another diet thread that seems to have fizzled out and i have been on the Food Focus site for a week now.

I am 5ft3 and i weighed 10st5 which put my BMI slightly higher than it should be, and made me feel a bit wobbly with no clothes that fit.

I am now 10st2 which has taken me about 6 weeks to get down to. I want to be 9st10 (higher end of pre-pregnancy weight)

I am quite active as i have a toddler and 2 horses but i really love my food and struggle to stay motivated.

beaniebaby25 · 12/06/2009 09:57

of course, welcome Alice!! Congrats on your weight loss so far, hopefully we can help you keep it going.

I've not been to the gym all week - and have eaten out twice - however i still seem to have lost a pound, which has flummoxed me. Haven't entered anything into FF for the last two days either.

I'm going to try on my holiday bikinis tonight, which should scare me into being good this weekend. I'm going to the gym tonight, I will, it's always good on a Friday as it's really quiet, everyone else is out having a life and enjoying themselves doing something different.

Hope you all have a fruitful (see what I did there!?) weekend!

Annner · 12/06/2009 10:45

Hello Alice! We're not all at the maintenance stage yet, but it is very motivating to see so many people getting to where they want to be.

I've just weighed in and have lost another kilo, making three in all since 6th May so now at 67.5kg. I'm averaging a pound a week at the moment with huge hiccoughs when I have my period (see my woe-is-me post from last Friday)

My aim is to get my BMI down below 25, to a safe level, so I'm only about 1/3 of the way through my journey.

ducdo · 12/06/2009 20:49

welcome to Alice

a bikini .... beaniebaby I am very jealous ... you lucky thing, my bikini days are LONG GONE!!

I seem to be doing OK this week, despite 2 nights out for dinner and a BBQ today, although did start the morning off with a nice long 40 min run .. returning with tomato sweaty face but felt great!

Enjoy your weekend everyone

HuffwardlyRudge · 13/06/2009 04:44

I'm struggling.

4 more lbs and I'll have lost a stone. I want to lose that stone. Even if I don't lose any more than that, a stone would be wonderful.

I just seem to have lost my initial zeal. I keep eating things and not writing them down and snacking and ugh. I'm going to undo everything I've lost so far.

alicecrail · 13/06/2009 08:43

Good morning

I thought i had been really good yesterday, but when i entered all my food i found i only had 50 cals remaining It just goes to show how many hidden calories there are in things.

ducdo · 13/06/2009 19:19

huffwardly I feel exactly the same. All day I have been stuffing my face doing all the things I shouldn't be doing like eating kids leftovers and snacking on the wrong type of foods.

Had the major munchies all day .. eating kids leftovers, chips, sausages, crisps, made some fairy cakes for kids with icing, then ate 6 in one go etc. etc. and will probably have some more later as there are atleast 6 on the kitchen side watching me type this message!! hee hee

Also worried I will undo everything I've lost so far but we must not lose focus. You only have 4 lbs to go and that is nothing when you think how much you've lost already. I too would like to lose a stone having lost 10lbs already so let's do the next 4lbs together. Forget today (I will after I've had a large glass of wine ) and then start afresh in the morning with a nice long run.

Maybe try re-entering in FF for next 2/3 days just to get back on track and I will do the same.

Let us know how it goes over the next few days. My weigh in day is Monday but I expect the scales to have stayed the same so will wait and see..
