Wooo, would love to know the difference between BA and BC, I do BC once maybe twice a week and LOVE IT!

Right, measured myself today and I've lost 5.5inches since 10th Jan. It's all going the right way!

That recipe sounds lovely, might try it soon. I love any kind of cheese and really miss it whenever I diet!

Ceebee74 · 10/02/2009 20:07

Jodie I have never done a BC class but I suspect that it is very similar except that BA is basically aerobics but done at a very high level - like all of the 'Body' classes it uses different song tracks for different moves/exercises.

Our gym also does Bodystep which is fab (if you like Step) - I actually find that much harder than BA even though I keep it all low-impact!!

Dozymare · 10/02/2009 20:17

Body Combat is very high impact but uses combat style moves - such as roundhouses, punches, etc etc I LOVE it!!!!

CEEBEE I HATE step classes with a passio0n, I jsut can't get co-ordinated enough to travel across on the step!

How are we all doing today? I have just had toast for tea as DH is out - definately trying to save up my cals for vals weekend!

Incidentally, DH bought me home a box of organic thorntons truffles last night that a client had given him - I had 5 (which was way more than enough) and only 218 cals...I thought that was quite good eh!

Ceebee74 · 10/02/2009 20:58

Dozy now we obviously are different as I LOVE Step - it is probably my favourite exercise but I do find it quite hard and there is no way I could do it high impact - probably fall off the step or something

Mmm Thorntons Truffles - yum! I had a bag of Thornton's choccie buttons today - they were delicious. Have had to stock up on choccie buttons for DS1 as it is looking like we might have to start potty training soon and there was an offer on at Thorntons so they are just sat in the fridge calling to me

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 10/02/2009 21:38

Juat come back from my Body Combat class and I already ache!! this will be my third week and I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of the moves, so therefore working harder!

So whats Body Attack like?

Ceebee74 · 11/02/2009 08:24

Morning

Jodie Body Attack is just like very high impact aerobics - think moves like knee lifts, kicks, jumping jacks, hamstring curls - running forwards/backwards - there is one track where you run round the studio in a big circle. You do 4 aerobic tracks, then do a track full of press-ups/tricep dips, then another 4 aerobic tracks and then a squats track, an abs track and finally a cool-down. The music they use is fab and it is really well choreographed.

Dozymare · 11/02/2009 08:53

Jodie BA is great as well - I have to say, I prefer BC as you can really let it out with the shouting!!!!!!

Feel knackered today, am run down and Tiger woke for the first timne in the night last night since before Xmas. Got her booked into the creche at 10am and I was going to go for a 5k run, but think I might do a body balance class instead to work on my core (although I hate these sorts of classes to get my abs back I need to work on my core stability) what do you think???

Food wise - I am making your peppers definately on Sat - they are going to be our starter and then some prawn stir fry for main then CHOColate mousse!!!!!

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 11/02/2009 09:51

Dozy I think you are right. Core stability is important, but don't over do the crunches if you've not long had a CS. (I have got that right haven't I, you had a CS?)

Anyway...... drum roll please........

2.25lbs this week! whooppeeeeee

Only 3.25 to go before I've lost a stone!

Dozymare · 11/02/2009 16:32

Yay Jodie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done to you I say (and loving you still have mince pies in your name BTW!)

I am desperately hoping to get to the stone mark this week, but weigh in today am still the same (have been bloody brilliant) So, still got until Friday moring for the "official" one but not getting why I have lost nowt yet.

Really, does anyone else weigh themselves daily or is that just me?????

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 11/02/2009 16:37

Dozy I weigh myself everyday and you really shouldn't!!! I'm thinking of putting the scales on top of the wardrobe or somewhere so I can't do it!

I thought about changing my name back, but I did have too many mince pies!!! Also I really don't know what to change it to, it was Jodiehadababy, but seems old hat now Sam's 7 months!

What class did you do in the end?

Ceebee74 · 11/02/2009 17:40

Jodie woohoo for you - well done!! I have a Sam too - lovelyname - but mine is only 3 months old!

Dozy your V Day meal sounds scrummy - now I need to decide what to do for me and DH! Am sure by Friday it will have dropped off - I have often found I can weigh at least a pound less from one day to the next!

I also weigh myself everyday and I know you shouldn't - I don't like to move the scales as they are a bit funny and you can weigh differently depending on where they are - so they are always there (in fact next to the PC!) taunting me

mileniwmffalcon · 12/02/2009 08:50

morning everyone, congrats on the big loss jodie

just a pound for me this week, but i'm more than happy with that. tbh i was a bit dubious about last week's loss and i was fully expecting to not lose or even go back up this week.

i'm finding it really helpful to be doing the c25k at the moment as even if i don't see any results on the scales i can feel like i'm making progress with the running. i'm up to 90seconds running at a time now, lol you can all laugh (you and your scary sounding classes!) but it's still an achievement for me

mileniwmffalcon · 12/02/2009 08:52

btw anyone else having problems logging into wlr today? i want to add my loss damnit

Ceebee74 · 12/02/2009 09:02

Morning

Mill well done on losing a pound

I can't log in either - the log in screen keeps coming up blank! I hope it is just a blip - but I think one of the things that mde me feel better about WLR is that, as you are paying for it, you can complain etc if things are right.

DH is working from home today so I am taking full advantage and going to a BA class in a mo - and then out for lunch with a friend

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 12/02/2009 09:02

mileniwmffalcon I've got on alright today, and congrats on your loss!!! So what's that in total now? Mine's 10.75lbs I wanted to ask about your C25k as I'm running the Race for Life in May and I can't run for toffee, Scary sounding classes are far easier IMO!! so what is the deal? Can you link me a plan or something?????

mileniwmffalcon · 12/02/2009 09:39

hmmm still can't get in. i had this a while back but it didn't go on this long

i'm up to 10lb, with 11 to go. i never quite made it to target last time, settled at 3-4lb above, but i was happy with that. i wonder whether adding in proper aerobic exercise might get me right down to target this time.

i really recommend the c25k jodie, i'm geuinely enjoying it which is a revelation for a lifelong non-runner. the plan is here, there's a thread too, here's the podcast i use

Dozymare · 12/02/2009 09:47

i got in no problem and am still no weight loss depsite being brilliant this week (and I really, really have) weigh in tomorrow so I better miraculously lose weight or else I will be and .

Why is it that when you are v.v.v.good the weight doesn't come off, but when you are a bit naughty(as I was last week) you do lose weight?

WELL DONE Millifalcon and enjoy your BA class ceebee no gym for me today as toddler group beckons!!! can't stick the kids in the gym every day now can i!!

Dozy I reckon a treat every now and again boosts your metabolism. When I was on WW I used to have a 'non-diet day' which basically meant I got weighed on Weds evening and I could eat and drink what I wanted Weds night, (Takeaway and bottle of wine ) and then start again on Thursday morning. I've read somewhere (can't remember where) that your body stores fat (esp. in the cold winter) as it needs it to keep warm (comes from hunter/gatherer times) and if you are not stocking up with fat it will hold onto the stuff it already has. (Kind of like you have to drink water to et id of water retention ) Does that make sense??????

Ceebee74 · 12/02/2009 11:11

Still can't get on - have sent an e-mail to the helpdesk to ask if there is a problem!

BA class was fab - the teacher did most of my faves so I am buzzing now!

Dozy I had a week where I didn't lose anything despite being really good and then the next week I shifted 3 pounds so it may be you have a really good week next week!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 12/02/2009 12:43

I can still get on, how wierd that some of us can and some of us can't....

Ceebee74 · 12/02/2009 20:48

It started working again just before lunch thankfully!

Had a lovely lunch with my friend - and was v good! Had a steak ciabatta sandwich but asked for salad instead of fries

Dozymare · 13/02/2009 07:58

Morning All - can someone PLEASE explain the mechanics of losing weight to me??? As you know, yesterday wasw quite as scales were making me the same weight as last week....went to my Aunt's for lunch, had a big fat cheesy pasta bolognaise with salad and some jelly babies. Last night, was a school mums night out - I didn't have time for dinner, so had lots of wine and 2 pints...got on the scales this morning, expecting to be the same, and guess what - have LOST 4LBS (there are 14lbs in a stone aren't there??)

Am very [happy] but seems my excellent week has paid off, although clearly the way forward is to skip meals, eat jelly babies and have a drink or 7!!

Anyway, my new weight is 14st 10lbs (meaning I have lost 1 stone, 1lb!)

Hurrah!!

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 13/02/2009 08:27

Dozy a huge well done to you I wish I could explain it but I have absolutely no idea although a diet of jelly babies and wine sounds like heaven to me

mileniwmffalcon · 13/02/2009 11:00

woohoo dozy are you the first on the thread to manage a stone?

i think the key is to look over the long term rather than focusing on individual days - you were great all week which accounts for most of the loss. it's possible that dehydration from the alcohol accounts for some too, so maybe don't be too disappointed if you show a smaller loss next week. (sorry, don't want to put a downer on it, fact is you've made a loss that you worked damned hard for, you enjoy it ).

i get this all the time too - like i'll sneakily weigh the day before to see how i'm headed and be showing a gain, then tadaa come weigh in day its magically changed into a loss.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 13/02/2009 11:05

Well done dozy thats fab! This happens to me too, which is why I really do try not to weigh myself every day, (but I end up doing it anyway!) A stone, thats so amazing.. I can't weight to get there (see what I've done!!!
