As for measuring - I didn't measure myself but am going on my jeans belt - when I started I couldn't get anywhere doing it up. It is now on the first set of holes and am going to use that as a guide as to how I am doing iyswim.

Dozymare · 06/02/2009 21:02

ceebee I LOVE BA and Body Pump, i don't feel as if I am excersing if I am not out of breath and sweaty......eg hate doing weights in the gym, hate things like Pilates or Yoga...are you the same?

Enjoy your weekend, give yourself a break as it is your DH's birthday, definately enjoy as you have done so well so far. Re-start on Monday and you will be fine. A week of never hurt anyone, (mine will be valentine's weekend as plan to PIG and then get back on track!)

We are doing well aren't we all???

Ceebee74 · 06/02/2009 21:19

Dozy I am exactly the same re exercise - weights/yoga bore me senseless and I don't feel like I have actually done anything!! I am much more motivated by actual classes and since I discovered Body Attack 4 years ago, everything else seems a bit 'boring'! I have also never been as fit as I got before I got pg with DS2 - all thanks to BA! I am a complete convert I really wish I lived near you as I think we would get on really well and you could be my exercise buddy

Thanks for the reassurance about this weekend - am feeling a bit guilty but don't want to ruin DH's weekend by refusing to eat cake etc. But next weekend, I have already told DH, valentines day or not, no goodies and no fatty meals - I am such a romantic aren't I??

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 06/02/2009 21:36

I'm the same re exercise, I can't do a non-sweaty class. Much prefer to feel all hot and sweaty. I Love BodyCombat (Is that like BA I wonder? They don't do BA at my gym) And I do it on a Tuesday night. All teh other times I go for a run, unless I can get to a class (which is unlikely!)

Dozymare · 07/02/2009 12:56

Have measured myself and have lost 17 inches

On the 6th Jan, I measured the following:

Bust around nipples
Bust under nipples
Tumy around belly button
Hips
Right thigh
Left thigh
Bingo wing around BCG scar
Calf

I cannot believe it

Thanks jodie fo reminding me - am going to measure again onthe 6th March.

Dozy OMG that is just fantastic

Ceebee74 · 08/02/2009 18:19

Am gutted - have put a pound on this week . I have had 2 bad days (Fri and Sat) but even then, I haven't been ridiculously bad and I deliberately underate for the rest of the week to compensate...I would have been happy to have stayed the same but to put a pound on - how???

Please come and give me a pep talk as a bit disheartened that a 2-day falling off the wagon does this!!

mileniwmffalcon · 08/02/2009 18:38

ceebee you lost 3lb last week didn't you? does it help to think of it as still an average of a pound a week? and did i read a way back that you weigh in in the evenings? i'd avoid evening weighing if at all possible as it depends so much on what you've eaten that day and can fluctuate loads, first thing seems to be more reliable. also i tend to overindulge on the weekends and find it easier to make up over the week, so i weigh on a thursday to give me the chance to catch up.

did you enter everything in your diary? i find it helps to do that even when i know i'm way over as it can be easier to make up than i expected and it stops me going completely off the rails.

i'm sure it's just a blip and you'll be right back on track next week

Dozymare · 08/02/2009 18:58

ceebee I am sure, on balance, that if you were to weiggh yourself this friday just gone you would have lost weight - it is because you have ahd your bad days on the weekend, and this is when you weigh yourself. As you know, my weigh in is now friday morning (although if it was this morning I would have also put 1lb on) but psychologically (sp) I know I have the rest of the week to claw it back. Overall, to have lost 3lbs in a week in amazing.

What you have to do is either change you weigh in day (I can't recommend a friday highly enough, as you can eat what you like at weekends and still lose weight by being super good the following days if that makes sense??)

Please don't be disheartened, you have done amazingly well in such a short space of time, we are all going to have weeks where we put weight on or stay the same, we need to accept that, and then get straight back in the saddle so to speak.

How did your DH do?

Dozymare · 08/02/2009 18:59

just read mill post - we are saying the same thing - sorry to repeat

mileniwmffalcon · 08/02/2009 19:11

great minds dozy

Ceebee74 · 08/02/2009 20:51

Ladies - thanks, that is just what I needed

Mill you are right about weighing myself in the evening but I needed to find a time that DH was around aswell so we could weigh together (he works away quite a lot) but have now decided to change to Saturday mornings - that will still mean I can pig out slightly at weekends and make up the rest of the week and DH will be around.

I am going to change my weekly start date on WLR to Saturdays aswell.

Dozy would you believe DH lost 2lb - even though he was away for 2 nights eating/drinking in hotels plus has eaten far more crap than me this weekend - didn't make me feel any better!!

Anyway, am back on track again - the birthday cake and chocolate has been eaten and I did a Body Attack class this morning and going to do another one tomorrow (assuming I am not snowed in!!)

Thanks again ladies - that is why we need this thread

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 08/02/2009 20:59

Evening... Ceebee Sorry to hear you've a a blip, but everything the others have said is right, why don't you weigh yourself in the morning and see?

Men's metabolism is faster than womens (esp. at this age) and I get really disheartened with my DH, he puts on a little and can just go for a bike ride 3 times a week and he's trim again....

I feel OK this weekend, after my AF last week I finally feel like I'm losing something and I'm looking forward to my weigh in on Weds.....

Hello, sorry haven't been on. I went away last week for a couple of nights on my own, was bliss but ate too much and drank too much so very pleased that I have stayed the same.

Dozymare · 10/02/2009 07:57

oh riven any reason why do you think?? TOday is a new week - stick with it as it really does work.....

I am off for body combat today - however, WLR says 980 cals for an hour....surely not?

Ceebee what do you think?

Well done five did you have a nice time away? where did you go??

Anyone got any idesa for a luxurious low cal valentines dinner????

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 10/02/2009 08:51

Morning all

Riven I completely sympathise with you as I had a sh*t weigh-in aswell but have managed to motivate myself again this week. Besides, I put my jeans on this morning and they felt baggy and I pulled my belt and it went straight to the second set of holes - I have only just been managing to get it into the first set of holes so I guess I am losing inches, if not pounds!

dozy the calorie count may be right - if I put in an hour of Body Attack, it gives me 800+ calories - but I am entering it as high impact aerobics at the moment as I am still not doing all the jumping jacks! I was a bit by that aswell - but it may be because we weigh so much (sorry!) that we burn more calories than your average person iyswim?

Five ooh how lovely to have some time to yourself - that is my dream - a night in a hotel by myself (easily pleased I am!!)

No exercise for me today (apart from walking DS1 to nursery) as having my hair cut in a bit

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 10/02/2009 08:52

Riven keep at it, didn't you have a good loss last week? maybe it's just evening out?

Five I'm going away to see my mum and dad in Spain for a long weekend in April with Best mate and without kids! I can't wait! Glad you had a nice time!

Dozy re V. Day, I'm going to be super good during the day and we are having Fillet Steak and Herby potatoes with a bottle of Rioja (what DH wants). I'll probably go to the gym on Sunday aswell. I don't think one meal will make a whole lot of difference? You could do a nice pasta dish and use fresh veg or low cal sauce, if you use prawns, chicken or extra lean mince, it shouldn't be that bad. (chopped tomotoes have hardly any calories in them) with huge crunchy salad as a side.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 10/02/2009 08:54

ceebee Glad to hear you're back on track.... (and your jeans are getting baggy)

Reminds me I need to measure today.

Dozymare · 10/02/2009 08:59

well done ceebee you really should measure yourself - the best motivation for me, was the 17 inch loss since 6th Jan......Am always going to measure ont he 6th of the month.

WEnt to gym yesterday, think I may have muscle fatigue as just could not run at all.......really, really hurt. I stopped after 10 mins and concentrated on weights and sit ups....does anyone else do the plank? If so, how long can you hold it for??? I am bloody useless and wonder it is because my tummy muscles have not knitted back together since 3rd CS? Am having a post natal assesment next week with a trainer so shall see.....did you haveg oneceebee?

Good ideas re Valentines, I think maybe a shellfish option as prawns/scallops are low cal.......DH does want a big fat steak though, in a creamy sauce.....

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 10/02/2009 09:11

Dozy no I haven't had an assessment - have just thrown myself straight back into my usual routine . As for the plank, I can't do it as I can feel my cs scar hurting - I can just about manage the modified version done by Claire from Steps on the DVD (resting on her knees). I am just doing normal situps etc at the moment but, then again, I think I had my cs 3 or 4 weeks after you so I am a bit behind you in recovery terms.

As for the meal, I have a lovely recipe for stuffed peppers (pepper halves baked with cherry tomatoes and garlic and then you put goats cheese - which is relatively low-cal - and breadcrumbs and basil on top and bake them a bit more. The goats cheese goes lovely and creamy and it goes really well with steak. A steak and 2 of those pepper halves is quite filling and very tasty! Can post the proper recipe if you want.

Dozymare · 10/02/2009 09:21

cor that sounds lovely - I LOVE, LOVE goats cheese, but haven't had any since starting WLR as thought to high cal....please do post!

Such a shame you are on the other side of the Country as you are very, very similar to mme!

I was doign a body pump last week and got told of for lifting more than 1kg - apparantly not meant to lift anything more than that for 6months after a CS......hence why I have now decided to get a proper post natal assesment as like you, I have just thrown myself back into it, but obviously the muscle fatigue yesterday proves I am overdoing it.........by the way, what did you weigh this morning??? Bet you have lost eh...are you changing your weigh in day???

OP posts:
Dozymare · 10/02/2009 11:55

I'm back.....and BUZZING! loved my body combat class, but so, so difficult.,,,had to do mty own improvised low impact version in places, but my God did I sweat! HUGE jacket spud with tuna and cheese for lunch now......

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 10/02/2009 13:08

Dozy is Bodycombat harder than Body Attack?

Right the recipe is:

2 red peppers - cut in half lengthways and scoop out the insides. Place in a roasting dish and put some slivers of garlic and 6 baby plum tomato halves in each half of the peppers.

Drizzle a little bit of olive oil on each one and bake in oven (200 degrees C) for 35 minutes.

Then put 2-3 torn up basil leaves in each half plus a disc of goats cheese, then a teaspoon of breadcrumbs and bake for another 5-10 minutes.

this is the goats cheese I use from Sainsburys - I divide it into 4 discs and put one in each pepper half - 2 'discs' is only 180 calories - and as the rest of the recipe is VERY low-calorie you are only really counting the steak and the goats cheese for the meal iyswim.
