Welcome giraffe and thanks for the advice Muddleduck

Had my weigh-in this evening - lost 3lbs so 10lbs altogether and I am under 15 stone - woohoo!!!

Giraffe i think you ahve found what most of us have - it seems quite 'mean' on the calorie front so I think most of us have gone for 1 1/2 lb a week loss to be able to eat more

giraffescantdancethetango · 01/02/2009 22:46

Thanks, have added you all

Went out to bingo tonight and everyone I was with had a meal in there, but was all really fattening stuff. I had something before I went and gonna have some falafel now. So much healthier. Managed to resist even tasting on of their chips cos I knew if I had one I would want more lol.

Well done Riven, so you are nearly there.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 02/02/2009 12:03

Wow Riven thats ace. Well done!

I'm very impressed. I got my pack this morning. Loving the support you get! Love the fact that you can ask for more food journals and they will just send them out! For Free!

Had a good weekend, weekends are usually terrible as DH is at home and we have bacon sarnies and big lunches and takeways etc. But I had tandoori chicken with no rice or Naan on Saturday night. which was very low in calories (alot lower than a curry!) We also were very active. Went for a big walk on Saturday to the local forestry centre and let DD1 run wild. On Sunday we took the boys swimming, was much fun! I also did 55 mins of Wii Fit last night....

I have my AF at the moment, which usually puts about 2lbs on me, but I;ve got til Wednesday to weigh in, so hopefully it should be gone by then!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 02/02/2009 12:06

giraffe Can't find you on there? My user name is Jodiemn

Dozymare · 02/02/2009 12:20

riven and ceebee well done to you both!!!!!!!!!! bet you are both so thrilled eh! I had a bad weekend but as planning on recouiping it all back with excercise as have PT booked - snow has put an end to that though can't even go for a run in this weather....may do DVD tonight though if I can get DH to go away as he just puts me off!!! Am really liking WLR.....got until Friday (my new weigh in day) to be good so hopefully can lose something, despite bad weekend!!!

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 02/02/2009 12:28

Sorry ceebee Well done you too. 3lbs is fab!

Ceebee74 · 02/02/2009 15:22

Thanks ladies - am quite chuffed although there is still such a long way to go!!

The stuff you get from WLR is cool isn't it although DH thought the journals were rather sad and I think he would be extremely if I produced one to write in whilst we are out somewhere

Dozy sorry your PT session has been cancelled - how frustrating! I managed to get to the gym for a BodyPump class this morning as the snow isn't too bad here.

It is DH's birthday on Saturday so I am trying to be really good all week so I can have cake and nice meals over the weekend - scrap that, I am having cake and lovely food over the weekend so I need to be good this week

tessieb · 02/02/2009 19:40

I used WLR 2 years ago and think it's a really good site. I started to lose weight, but was having a lot of trouble with my computer at the time and ended up having to cancel my membership.

Reading this thread, I'm wondering whether to give it another go....

I've been trying to lose weight for the last month, but haven't been very focussed at all. Since Feb last year, I've managed to put on over a stone!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/02/2009 08:49

2lbs today so 5lbs total which is perfect

Dozymare · 03/02/2009 20:15

well done five I am having a terrible week - Gym is shut, so no excercise and consequently, have been eating crap in the day.......hoping that the making of igloos and snowmen will count towards my excercise!

OP posts:
JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 03/02/2009 21:20

Evening all. Just got in from the Gym (done a BodyCombat class. Very sweaty!) I just looked at myself in the mirror and I;m an absolute disgrace, I have never looked or felt this awful in my body image Wish it was as much fun to get off as it is to put on!!!!!

Well done five I have my weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed. I have been really good, but have had my AF which does put a couple of lbs on me normally, but then I have a big drop the next week.....

Come join us tessieb! Dozy Tomorrow is another day. And I'm sure everything active counts!!!! (including snowmen!)

Ceebee74 · 04/02/2009 10:20

Dozy I totally feel for you - that was how I felt last week when I couldn't even do my DVD's. Is the gym open again yet?

Jodie I have those feelings aswell - I hate my size and often wonder how I let myself get like this. When I was 12 stone, I used to think I was fat then...ha!! I would do ANYTHING to get back to that size now - funny how your perspective changes isn't it?

Dozymare · 04/02/2009 13:31

ceebee but you still managed to lsoe 3lbs!!! How the heck did you do that??? Weigh in is Friday - I have 2 days to lose some weight....been super good today and been to the gym (hurrah!) I get so cranky if I can;t excercise. Not enough time though to get everything done.

Just had a pot of couscous and roasted veg for lunch - gotta have some toast now though as still hungry!

ceebee what cake you making??

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 04/02/2009 13:58

Dozy not sure how I managed it last week tbh...I think I was just extra careful about what I ate and, having DS1 around all day, meant I couldn't really snack as much as I normally do.

I am not making the cake - am buying it. DS1 keeps asking for a Thomas one (no surprise there) so that is what DH is having Have also bought DH some lovely chocs from Thorntons which I know I will not be able to resist (it is those Choccies if anyone else has had them - god, they are just so scrummy!!)

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 05/02/2009 09:27

Hi guys. I managed 1.5lbs this week. At least thats something, esp. as I was on my AF!

mileniwmffalcon · 05/02/2009 09:37

yay losers! that's a fantastic loss riven, especially being so close to target. it's funny about eating more to lose more - i'm eating on average 1700 but losing 2lb a week (another 2lbish today, my scales aren't v accurate!) doesn't seem right does it? actually i'm sure there's something hormonal going on for me - i always suspected i gain/hold weight much more easily when i'm pg or bf and i just stopped feeding dd2 at new year which would account for it falling off now. also i'm mod active (sahm to toddler, don't drive) and i've been doing 200ish cals of exercise a day too (before you all start to hate me for finding it too easy!).

the snow is really frustrating isn't it, i haven't been doing half my usual walking this week, although i've been lucky with my c25k "running" as i've managed to schedule the days in between the snow so i haven't missed one yet.

i know what you mean dozy about relying on exercise to keep your mood up - i think running might be a real winner for me, i was in a brilliant mood all day yesterday despite being short on sleep, i'm sure it was my "run" in the morning that did it.

keep it up guys - everyone's doing fantastically. actually, anyone fancy adding up how much have we lost in total on this thread so far? i'm up to 9lbs.

Dozymare · 06/02/2009 08:29

Milium are you running 25k am very impressed if you are! i wish I could be at that....I managed 12k the other day but stopped so many times.....I managed to do a body pump class yesterday, feeling it today!!

Well today is my weigh in and have lost another 2lbs After not excersising due to snow and having a bit of a chocolate day, I am very very happy with that! Takes my total loss to 11lbs since 6th Jan!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the reason this is working for me is due to this:

  1. Weighing everything - still eating the same, just not as much
  2. Tracking EVEREYTHING even if I do have a binge on chocolate and go massively over, I know ho wmuch I need to do to claw it back so to speak
  3. I don't feel deprived...am still eating the things i like
  4. Am getting back into a good excercise routine
  5. My weigh in is a friday - this means I can pig at the weekends, and whereas before I would get disheartened, I know i have 4 days to be good IYSWIM

Am laughing at your comment ceebee the first timne I ever went to WW about 7 years ago, I weighed in at 11st 3lbs and was MORTIFIED. If only now eh

Stat Update:

Dozymare 15st 0lbs (11lbs since 6th Jan)

OP posts:
mileniwmffalcon · 06/02/2009 08:49

hahaha dozy it isn't meant to sound that impressive! it stands for couch to 5k - at the moment i'm very much at the couch end of the spectrum (hence "running" in quotes). i'm moving from 8x60sec running intervals to 6x90sec on saturday. so it's very much the other way round, i'm super impressed with your 12k

so 20lb between us, not too shabby at all

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 06/02/2009 10:45

Morning. Feeling better today. I've done Wii fit twice this week and a Body Combat Class once. So feel abit 'perkier'

I was 11st3 at my first WW meeting too, and was so embarrassed. (that was pre-kids though!) I got down to 9st3 in 9 months! Maybe I can do it again.

I have lost 9.5lbs since October (Christmas scuppered my attempts!)

mileniwmffalcon · 06/02/2009 10:53

29.5 lbs that's a sturdy toddler just between 3 of us do you reckon the whole thread could manage a teenage girl? (iyswim!)

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 06/02/2009 11:44

When you put it like that, that's ace!!!

I measure myself once a month aswell, to track inch loss, as I know muscle weighs heavier than fat so if you do exercise alot then sometimes the weight loss is deceiving. I measure the usual areas, top of arms, top of legs, waist, hips, bust, and so far Ilost 11 inches between November and January.I'm due Feb's measure next week.

Dozymare · 06/02/2009 19:10

What a good idea Jodie I measured myself at the start, but haven't done swince...shall do in the morning and report back!

fgeeling really good about things, hope you all are as well?

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 06/02/2009 20:32

Evening all - I have lost 10lbs in total so that takes us to 39.5lbs

Dozy well done on the 2lbs - see you can do it even without exercise! Have you ever done Body Attack classes? I think you would love them if you haven't tried them as you sound quite similar to me - they really are the best exercise class ever!!

Am not going to log today or tomorrow as, due to DH's birthday, eating is going to be a bit haywire (lots of goodies/cake/meals out and no exercise) - will mess up this week on WLR but intend to restart on Monday (will still weigh myself on Sunday though).
