he he am liking your joke jodie.

I also reckon it might be down to dehydration, but we shal see. Am eating what I like tomorrow - figure that as VD is once a year I should do that (although will still track).

Only another 4 stone to go!!!

Ceebee74 · 14/02/2009 09:34

Weigh in this morning and guess what....I lost 4lbs I know probably one pound of that will be because I have changed my weigh in from evening to morning but am still happy. Now lost 13lbs...which is what DS2 weighs so everytime I pick him up, I think wow this is what I have lost

Off to BA again this morning - although apparently it is Kiss Attack due to the date - hope that doesn't actually mean I have to kiss anyone

Dozymare · 14/02/2009 11:05

Go ceebee that is such good news, expecially after your weigh in last week. It all balances out int he end doesn't it and I think we all need to accept that we will have good and bad weeks. It is all about being good in the long term and making sure we stick to it.

This will make you all chuckle, after my 4lbs loss this week (and my weigh in after a night of jelly babies and wine and beer) We had a chinese last night that DH ordered. All the usual suspects, crispy duck, beef in black pepper and prawns in chilli and overnight I have put 2lbs on

My scales are super duper though so I do believe them, but am now starting to think that a lot of my 4lb loss was dehydration!

Anyway, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to you all, enjoy (as I plan to do) and good luck for your weigh in!!!

Morning Ladies, I am having a CRAP time - it all went to pot on VD and then I think I have used that as an excuse to PIG yesterday as well. I am over 2,000 cals OVER so far and have almost pressed self destruct....HELP ME GET BACK ON TRACK!!!!!

Anyone else the same?????

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 16/02/2009 09:38

Dozy - don't panic - why not just scrap the weekend and start afresh today? That is what I did last weekend. Don't ruin the fantastic achievement that you have done so far.....remember (as I keep telling myself) this is a long-haul thing so the occasional blip is to be expected!

Did you like the peppers?

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 16/02/2009 10:43

Dozy I'm just the same. Pigged out VD and then yesterday had a lovely roast, but was early then I got peckish last night and had chocolate and a bag of Squares! Today I'm really struggling to keep it together........ (Plus am going to my aunts today and she always does such lovely lunch accompanied by Yum Yums!)

Dozymare · 16/02/2009 10:53

ceebee LOVED the peppers, really, really yummy!!! mEANT TO POST THAT EARIER, but forgot, sorry!!

jodie I have got 2 hardcore excercise classes booked for this week, but no other chance of exercise due to it being half term.

ceebee your words are actually ringing very true - this is for the LONG TERM and of course we are going to have blips.

I am aiming for maintenance this friday, means i have to eat not very much but hey ho, price to pay for being a self indulgent piggy!!!

Dozy I;m booked for BC tomorrow night, but DH has asked if he can play squash, he normally plays on Thursdays, but I;m going to see my cousin in a dance show (she's 10) So I can't really say no. He's Skiing tonight so I might get my old DVD out.

I Need to start this C25K thing, but it's getting motivated, going to have a go at downloading the podcast later....

tessieb · 16/02/2009 17:07

Hi everyone

Just to let you know I've just joined WLR too. I'm hoping it will give me the motivation to lose at least 2 stone.

I've been trying to lose weight by myself since the beginning of January, lost 6lbs, then put 4 back on! I've been given an allowance of 1100 calories a day (aiming for 2lbs a week loss) but it is just such a small amount that I'll need to 'earn' extra exercise cals.

What are you aiming to lose each week? I'm wondering whether 1lb a week and a higher calorie allowance would be more sustainable. What do you advise?

Dozymare · 16/02/2009 19:19

hi tessie welcome!! When you feel brave enough, add your stats

we all started off by putting 2lbs a week in, but then all adjusted to either a 1lb or 1.5lb loss as it just wasn't enough. We are all still losing though so it really does help.

I have lost 1stone and 1lb since 6th Jan (although can almost guarantee will put on this week, if youhave been reading my previous posts )

It is a great website though, and we are all getting results!!!

Dozymare 1 stone 1 is fantastic in a month. Well done!

Just filled in my food diary for today and I'm about 300 cals over - think I will have to go for a slower weight loss as I hate feeling deprived like I'm on a diet. After all, I want it to be something I can sustain.

Ceebee74 · 17/02/2009 13:02

TessieB welcome to the thread As Dozy said, I think we all adjusted our target weight loss to 1 1/2 lbs a week as the calorie allowance given by WLR is a bit 'mean'

Am struggling today in a good way - have put in everything I plan to eat and I still have 300 cals left (not sure how ) - and if I walk to pick DS1 up from nursery I will get another 100+ calories....so by the end of the day I could have 400 spare calories and we have nothing good in the house to eat to use them on!

Dozymare · 17/02/2009 13:36

well done you ceebee On my super good week when I excercised lots and ate really well, I had a creme egg most nights! (and still managed to lose 4lbs) For me, the big difference is that i am not drinking in the week and so therefore have cals left for choc!!!!!!

did body combat today - loved it! Got PT tomorrow then body attack on thursday........am going for maintainence this week after my self sabotaged weekend. Have worked out in advance on WLR that i can manage that if I do all my excercise.

Got a whole roasted butternut squash for dinner tonight....

Ceebee74 · 17/02/2009 14:14

Dozy am of your classes - DH is away most of this week so I am stuck with my DVDs which are not even comparable to a BA class!

Lol at the creme egg - yep already had one of those after lunch and still got 400 calories spare!! Am starting to think about a late supper of cheese on toast to use them up

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 17/02/2009 15:47

just downloaded the C25K pod cast, so will start that tomorrow. Thanks MF

Am doing BC tonight, first lot of exercise for a week I too am just hoping to stay the same this week, naughty girl i am!

Do you put BC down as High impact aerobics?

Sorry short and bad grammer got Sam wriggling on my lap.

xx

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 18/02/2009 09:35

Right, got a bit of time to skive!

Did BC lat night and exciting news, they are starting BA at the gym, from Summer's programme, so after all you lot talking about it, I might get to try it for myself!

I also did my first attempt at the C25K podcasts this morning, 90secs walking, 60secs jogging, and it was hard, but not as hard as I thought, so going to do that Fri and Sunday, then change to week 2 next weds.

1lb was a big shock to the system as I;ve been heading towards a 1/2lb rise all week and voila, this morning it's gone!! (Another reason why we shouldn't weigh ourselves everyday!)

I've got some friends coming over for a takeaway tonight, so it's tandoori chicken again for me, no rice and 2 poppadoms! (See, back oon the wagon me! ) I've got 2.5lbs to make that stone and I'M GOING TO DO IT THIS WEEK!

How is everyone else doing?

mileniwmffalcon · 18/02/2009 19:04

yay jodie well done on your loss and well done for starting the c25k too. i'm cos my knees have started playing up so i'm on the subs bench til friday - hoping a few days rest will knock it on the head. i've been so focused on it i feel rather lost without it, but i really don't want to risk real injury by ignoring or pushing through what my body's telling me.

i've had an ok week (weigh in tomorrow) i planned for a night out on sunday and actually managed to save cals in advance (very unlike me). i'm usually under by a couple of hundred over the week (on 1b loss so that's fine) but half term and taking a break from the running means i'm way under usual on my exercise so fractionally over on the cals.

i'm definitely not expecting a loss this week but that's not bothering me i'm just utterly gutted that i can't keep on with the c25k. lol i have such an addictive personality, i'm hooked on those endorphins already

mileniwmffalcon · 18/02/2009 19:06

btw jodie do you have proper running shoes? i got mine from a specialist running shop and judging by the state i'm in even with decent shoes my legs would probably have fallen off by now if i'd gone out in my old trainers!

Ceebee74 · 18/02/2009 20:21

jodie well done!

Exercise is a bit limited this week - want to do a DVD tomorrow but DS2 is having his 2nd jabs at 11 so it may be a bit of a push - may just do a little bit of one.

mileniwmffalcon · 19/02/2009 07:10

1lb gain for me this week

most likely that last week's loss wasn't a real one (my scales are far from high tech, any time i step on the scales i can usually pick somewhere in a 4-5lb range depending on which way i lean!) although i've been wondering about activity levels for a while. basically my loss up until now has been "easy" weight gained over xmas, so it was going at a quicker than expected rate, but now i'm into my last stone and i wasn't expecting it to shift with practically no effort.

i'm on mod active/1lb loss so i start with 1500 then eat all my exercise cals too so 200-300 extra a day, now i know that's what some people get for maintenance so i'd be surprised if i lost on it. if i reset to mod sed and a half pound loss i'd be on the same cals, which i could easily sustain but then i wouldn't reach goal till august and on a 1lb loss i'd be done by may, which would be good as i have a big night out then.

so far all i've done is up my exercise (although eating those cals, but it's an important change for me), cut out extra snacking in the evenings and stop drinking in the week. so no real sacrifice and i haven't really worked on increasing my fruit & veg, which was what worked for me last time. so looks like that's my next step - i'll stick on the settings i'm on for now, but change them next week if i'm still not losing.

sorry for rambling on, it just helps me to sort everything out in my head to write it down.

JODIEhadtoomanymincepies · 20/02/2009 11:10

Hi guys, how you all getting on? How did your weigh in go today Dozy??? I'm dying to know, I reckon you lost at least 1lb! (sending positive vibes)

ceebee good luck for tomorrow

MF I need to get some proper trainers, but waiting until Payday and will pop to the sports shop in town and ask the guys in there. I do have 'gym trainers' but they were only cheap Reebok ones and I;m guessing they aren't brilliant!

I know it dead cheeky, but here is my fundraising page, for Rcace for Life, just in case any of you feel generous!

Dozymare · 20/02/2009 13:27

Morning all - 3lbs on for me this week still, to be expected after my pig out at the weekend and then playing catch up all week. However, according to WLR, I was only 122 cals over for the week due to my excercise, so I am guessing that weighing yourself after a night on the lash (with no dinner and throwing up to boot definitely counts towards weight loss!

Still, I was expecting this, I am now 14st 13lb so going to go for a 2lb weight loss this week to get me back to losing a stone.

What I need to do is stay on track, I have a very weird relationship with food, and it is almost as if I was self sabotaging this week as I had done so well previously. Does anyone else do this or am I the only weirdo??!!! [grin']

Ceebee74 · 20/02/2009 16:12

Dozy but tomorrow is the start of a brand new week eh?? I also used to do what you say you have done....eat loads following a really good week but, so far, I seem to be able to keep on track with this.

Having said that, I am 200 calories over for the week (thanks to the weather - it is raining so I can't walk to pick DS1 up from nursery!!) now so I can either drink less wine tonight or just hope 200 calories really isn't going to make that much difference....3 guesses at which option I am going to choose

Jodie there was no link for your page.

Went to a bodypump class this morning but it turned out to be a PT just doing stuff with weights (the usual instructor wasn't there) - was actually really good as he literally didn't stop for 45 minutes (whereas with BP you are constantly pausing to change weights etc) - so it was constant weightlifting/toning stuff without any breaks - I can already feel that some muscles are gonna ache tomorrow though!!
