Ta Jodie (( ))

JODIEwantsanewname · 22/07/2009 07:13

Right, Today is the first day to the rest of my life

I'll weigh myself in a min, when I get dressed (so I'm naked ) And thats it, diet, diet, diet! My birthday is 3 weeks on Friday, so I aim to have lost 1/2 stone (abit more than the recommended 2lbs a week, but it seems like a round number!)

Rumpel · 22/07/2009 09:59

Morning Jodie - are you taking into account AF etc? I know I can put on about 4lbs when due/on. My 2 at nursery today so am going to get stuff done - my treat for today will be 2 digestives with a cup of tea this afternoon.

I need to have a treat everyday or I would just give up

Will do some ab work and weights later too and if time get on the exercise bike

No idea what FF or WLR mean - can you enlighten me? Not got time to read through the whole thread.x

missnatalie · 22/07/2009 11:27

Good luck jodie Rumpel WLR is www.weightlossresources.co.uk its a calorie counting diet plan that most of us on here have been following for a while now. FF is [www.foodfocus.co.uk]] the same as WLR (maybe not as good) but free. Have a look for yourself it might be able to help you with your diet. I think WLR is fab. Ive tried every diet going. Weight watchers, slimming world, atkins, juicing etc, etc but WLR is the only one that ive stuck to and lost on.

Rumpel · 22/07/2009 20:45

OMG!!! I just got the free trial and it recommends I stick to 1100 cals a day to lose 1.5 st for 5th October. After lunch I had 97 cals left! Obvioulsy I am eating far too many calories and that doesn't even include the wine argggg! This is going to be harder than I thought.

missnatalie · 22/07/2009 22:18

I was on 1100 for about 5-6 weeks and hovered between 12st 4lb and 12st. I contacted the help team this week and after telling them about my daily routine etc they told me to change my activity level to moderatly active as id put it at moderatly sedatary. This has put my cal up to just over 1400. I hope that it works and i get out of the 12st area by next weigh in (sat). They basically said that my body had gone into starvation mode and thats why i wasnt losing anymore.

JODIEwantsanewname · 23/07/2009 07:28

You'll get there rumpel!!! A big plus is exercise, even it's going out for a quick stroll for 30 mins, you said on the other thread that you painted all day, well that will count i reckon, and when you get out in that garden of yours that's loads of calories!!!!! Just look at portion control and carbs hold alot of cals too.

Missn, how are you feeling now? Did the doctor manage to get your meds sorted? When's your weigh day?

Ceebee, dozy, five, lady, how are you all???

Oh yeah, I was exactly 11 stone yesterday

Ceebee74 · 23/07/2009 10:11

Hey ladies

Rumpel welcome to the thread How much have you set yourself to lose a week? I think we all started off at 2lbs a week loss but realised how few cals this gave us so most of us adjusted it to 1 1/2 lbs a week and it is much more realistic.

My main tips are to watch your portions (that has def been the key for me) and do as much exercise as you can as you can eat so much more I have lost 2 1/2 stone so far and have had chocolate/cake everyday

I thought this thread was dying tbh

I am ok - had a sh*t week last week - it was DS1's birthday so had 2 bad days (but they weren't really bad - just cake really) and I managed to put on 3lbs I hav eno idea why as I honestly honestly was not that bad - put it really put me back and I was v upset. Anyway, got over it and am making a real effort this week but it is starting to feel like a slog now to shift this last stone and a half. My pattern is definitely lose 2lbs, stay the same, lose 2lbs, stay the same and so on (although I eat all/under my cals each week) - very frustrating and can't see how I can break the cycle.

Anyway, sorry for the me me me post

missnatalie · 23/07/2009 10:55

Hi Ceebee thats just how i felt (upset) with my hovering. Id exercise like mad, eat all or most of my cals, not go over and gain a couple of lbs. Im hoping that the help teams advice is gonna pay off this week

Jodie im off the steroids. Just gona take tthem when and if needed. My consultant has put me on a trial drug now but i havnt started taking it yet . He gave it to me in May but there are so many side effects tthat im too scared to take the tabs. They've got alot of male hormones (along with other things) in them. He told me that i will probably grow uneven body hair, have a deepening of my voice and be extremally moody. The worst one is liver rot. If i take too much or for too long, my liver will rot and ill basically need a new one. Given the fact that im 26 with a DS and want more DC i dont really think that im ready for all of that. Plus after my EP in 2006 my consultant (gyne) recommended that i stay off the pill and anything else hormonal.
Ive suffered and coped so far without the the new meds, just worried about what the consultant says when i go back in Dec.

Rumpel · 23/07/2009 15:38

Hi missnatalie and CeeBee.

I actually prefer the FF site and am using it now. I've decided to be a bit more realistic and stick to 1250 cals a day. Started properly today. Am poledancing tonight (well trying to = very badly) so that should help.

Did some ab work yesterday but lower arm muscles are quite sore at the mo' - think I overdid the weights the other day or it could have been wrestling with Calvin as he was having a major tantrum last night!

CeeBee it was my DS 1st birthday last week and I had cake almost every day - God I adore cake

missnatalie - sorry if you have gone through all this already but what's the meds for?

Can you give me a nod as to which page you may have listed the stats on? Starting weights etc so I can see how you ahve done?

Ceebee74 · 23/07/2009 16:23

Rumpel - what day was your DS's birthday (I wonder if our DS's share a birthday - DS1's was 14th - he was 3) I also have an 8mo DS2.

No idea where the stats are so I will start them again:

Ceebee - at the start of the year I was 15st 9lbs (size 18-20) - am now 13st 3lbs (size 14-16) so a loss of 2 stone and 6lbs (it was 2 stone and 8lbs before this week )

Rumpel · 23/07/2009 18:29

CeeBee - DS was 15th What height are you? You must be about the same as me as I was 18-20 and am now 16 bum 14/16 top. Pear shaped here all the way

I was 14st 10lbs after DD - aged 2 ( 3 in October) 15st10lbs after Calvin. Am now 13st 7lbs and 5'8.5".

Ceebee74 · 23/07/2009 19:32

Rumpel - I am 5ft 8 (but not that extra half an inch ) so we are almost almost exactly the same height and weight I am finding that my 16 jeans are getting slightly too big now but I can't do 14's up (damn that c-section overhang!)

I went up to about 13st 10 after DS1 was born, never shifted in between and then upto 15st 10 after DS2.

Anyway, you have shifted 2 stone already so you must be doing something right!

Jodie - forgot to say before that 7lbs in 3 weeks is completely doable and you will look faberooney for your birthday

Dozymare · 24/07/2009 20:21

Hi all - I am still here and still plodding on....am getting really bored now and disheartened as after reaching the magic 2 and half stone loss at the start of July (3 weeks ago) I have now put 5lbs on

I kinda let it all slip as was so pleased with myself and stopped tracking obviously a big mistake....was also my DS2's birthday (18th July!) so lots of naughties.

Therefore today I am 13st 9lbs so nowhere near my magical 2 and half stone loss....

Going to restart again in earnest next week although my exercise has gone out the window it being the holidays....just can't afford the childcare for 2 of them whilst I go to the gym!

Hello newbies - this deffo works....you just need to stick at it!!!

Rumpel · 25/07/2009 16:50

Hi all,

was so good the last 2 days then last night I was starving!!! Had about 12 ginat choccie buttons and a small bowl of crips - Friday night and all that. When you've got Dcs and don't get out much your method of re
laxation involves nice food and wine/drink does it not?

Took my 2 to the park for hours today (met a friend) to let DH study. Nipped into town and had to have an M&S mocha and bacon roll - so love them so goodness knows how little calories I will have left for tonight!

God it is hard isn't it?

Still it will be worth it when I feel better about myself - we just need to think that our treat is to feel good about ourselves .

Ceebee74 · 26/07/2009 13:00

Hey all

Rumpel - am so with you on the treats for relaxation - we hardly ever go out (no babysitters) so my treat is definitely on a Friday night when I crack open my weekly bottle of white wine

Dozy - long time no speak It is becoming hard now isn't it? We have been doing this for nearly 7 months now so we can all be proud of ourselves

As for me, not sure what has happened with my weight but the scales show I have lost 5lbs this week So am convinced that either last week (when I put on 3lbs) or this week's reading is wrong but what can I do? Have to record it as what it showed but suspect I will not lose any next week

Have just got my new Next catalogue and have been picking out my new size 14 work wardrobe for when I go back to work - it has given me extra incentive to shift as much as I can in the next 7 weeks!

JODIEwantsanewname · 26/07/2009 13:08

Hi Dozy You've done so well! How much is it you need to lose now, it can't be much

Rumpel It is really hard, I just wish it was as easy to lose as it is to gain! Oh well!

Ceebee You've done really well too, and who can blame you for indulging when there is cake around!!!

I thought this thread had died too, but I really need your support guys, I've found this week easier than I thought, I'm putting it down to having to answer to you guys if it goes tits up!!! Please be strict with me and kick my ass, I would love love love to get to 10st 7lbs by my birthday, it would be such an acheivement!

I went for a run last night, (well I say run..... ) I did the first week of the couch to 5k podcast, and in 30 mins I managed 2 miles and 215 cals! so next time I go out I will do week 2 I think as week 1 seemed a tad easy (well not easy, but I think I could push myself abit more IYKWIM) I've also been swimming with the boys today, so even if I didn't do any serious swimming I still managed to make sure I stayed active in the water, even swam with DS1 on my back for about 5 mins, so thats an extra 2stone dragging around!!!

I've also had a sneaky peak at he scales this morning [naughty dieter emoticon] and I've lost 1.25lbs since wednesday, so fingers crossed!!!!!!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 26/07/2009 13:09

crossed posts Ceebee - Well done!!!!!!!

MABS · 26/07/2009 14:09

hello girls, can i rejoin you after a very long break? still lost no weight but am going to make big efforts again now.

I don't have loads to lose but am 9st 12 and want to get back to 9 stone.

Rumpel · 27/07/2009 20:54

CeeBee - how restrained of you I have one open in the fridge at all times in case of possibility of head implosion emergencies mind you I water it down with soda and loads of ice. We're the same no sitters here either - family live too far away. 5lbs that is AWESOME as they say stateside. What do you work as?

JODIE - you are doing brill with your running - well done must be hard going.

MABS - hi - my left leg weighs about 9st!

Tried on my dress for this wedding on Friday - it fits hurrah! I bought it for DH's brothers' wedding 2 years ago wasn't sure if it would or not - bit of a wobbly bum thing going on - shiny fabric, but it is a nice unusual dress and with heels it shoudl be okay.

My week ends Thursday so I shall let you know how I've done then. DCs were in danger of getting thrown in the bin today so took them to the park - ended up with the 2 of them in the P&T and walked for 30mins up and down through the grass to burn off those cals.

Getting my hair done on Weds so am going to treat myself to an M&S bacon roll and mocha to be enjoyed leisurely for a change

Ceebee74 · 27/07/2009 21:09

Mabs welcome back

Jodie how are you doing this week?

Rumpel if I had wine in the fridge all week I would drink it every night as I love it so much so I have to keep it out of the fridge as warm white wine is just not the same I work as an HR Advisor so I will need a couple of suits for those important disciplinary meetings etc plus just general day-to-day work wear - a whole new work wardrobe for when I return to work was always one of my main aims - and I have at least achieved that as my old work wardrobe (pre-DS2) was size 16 and is just too big now and will definitely be too big in September

Ds2 is doing his 1 day a week at nursery tomorrow so am child-free all day so am off to the gym tomorrow morning and can take as long as I like....lovely

JODIEwantsanewname · 27/07/2009 22:46

Welcome back mabs

I'm doing OK, had a wobble today, had a rough night with DS2 last night, so lacking of energy (reach for biscuits! ) Everything OK though as I went for a run, I managed 2.2miles in 30 mins, so very pleased!!!

MABS · 28/07/2009 18:33

Hi all thanks very much, did a pump class and eaten carefully since i posted so think you are already helping me again! thanks

JODIEwantsanewname · 29/07/2009 07:52

Well done MABS Keep it going! You'll be there in no time at all!!!

Drum roll please .................................................................................................... ............................

3lbs this week!!!! Whoo hooo!!! Thanks guys, it's is all down to you, without your support I never would have got going again....

Ceebee74 · 29/07/2009 08:47

Jodie woo hoo - well done you See, another 2lb a week for the next 2 weeks and you will look fab on your birtday!

Mabs good on you for getting going again. I have stopped doing Pump classes and am doing weights in the gym instead (the consensus on WLR is that heavy weights in the gym is better) although the main reason I have switched is that it takes me just over 30 mins to do gym weights rather than an hour to do a class - which as time at the gym is quite precious, means I can do it more often iyswim.

All good here - although the damn rain is hampering me this week as I am struggling to take DS1 to nursery on foot - which means I am 200 cals down on my normal 'daily' allowance!!
