Group got cancelled last night cos of the snow. I think (based on my scales this morning) that I'd LOST 1.5lb which would be bl**dy amazing. They've added a group on Thursday which I'm not sure I can make. Oh well, back on track hopefully this week - I've got 2 weeks until my dinner dance and want to be around 7lb lighter. Is this realistic?

Tommy · 03/02/2009 12:54

hello everyone - haven't been to weigh in for 2 weeks now but on my scales this morning, it looks like I've out anothe pound on which I'm a bit about as I've been pretty good this week.

Do you think we are holding on to our fat to fend off the cold weather?

Have made a veggie moussaka for dinner and am just about to have syn free chips and beans for lunch. Can't believe I'm not losing - I have less than a stone to go

kid · 03/02/2009 14:25

When you have lost most of your weight and are near to your target weight, its get harder.
Maybe you need to do some exercise to help boost weight loss again?

Try adding lots of speed foods, that might help?

Tommy · 03/02/2009 16:23

yes - exercise - when the weather is better I run about 3 times a week but have only been twice since Christmas

Speed foods - good idea - hadn't thought about those in a while. Thanks kid

lechuga · 03/02/2009 19:46

aarrrgh-am back (with my sorry tail between my legs!). gave up completely over christmas. what speed foods work best for you peeps?

Franniban · 03/02/2009 20:15

Definately think the cold stops you loosing! Veggie mousaka sounds good, have you got the receipt? Have always followed the red day more than the green day before, but have to admit with the credit crunch I am vering towards veggie anyway.

Does anyone have this weeks password please?

Pwsimerimew · 03/02/2009 20:39

password Mango. Have reached half stone tonight, very pleased, but my super wonderful friend has lost another 4 POUNDS, taking her up to 1 stone 8lb in four weeks. Dead jealus!!!

Tommy · 03/02/2009 22:42

my moussaka was just made up! Onions, peppers, mushrooms, tinned toms and kidney beans (just what I had in cupboard), sliced cooked potatoes on top then a white sauce made with natural yogurt and an egg with a HE of strong cheddar - very yummy even if say so myself

I have put mung beans into soak overnight for tomorrow's interesting concoction...

(they are a super speed food - trying to do what kid suggested!)

kid · 03/02/2009 23:42

Never tasted mung beans, just the name puts me off!
Hope it works, try snacking on speed foods too if you can. I am always chopping up carrots to eat instead of crisps. Not as tasty but so much healthier!

Tommy · 04/02/2009 08:14

I don't tend to snack TBH kid - my downfall is the DSs' left overs and crusts from their sandwiches Maybe I should just give them SW suff as well

ponto · 04/02/2009 10:36

Tommy, I'm with you on the sandwich crusts! I try to count the syns though, I reckon the crusts from 2 slices of bread add up to about half a slice, so I count it as 2 syns (if you don't butter right up to the edges, that is).

I have found the Ryvita light cereal bars are a good snack, only 3 syns each and they do fill you up, especially if you have a piece of fruit with them. If you have 2 then it's a Healthy Extra. Also Asda Good for You chocolate orange crispy bars are 4.5 syns, I take one to dd1's swimming lesson to avoid temptation from the chocolate machine while I am watching her.

Franniban · 04/02/2009 20:27

I hear you there Tommy on the left overs, I heard someone on the radio tonight saying they put washing up liquid on the left overs before she could get them into her mounth. Good plan me thinks!

Did a pork with ginger, chilli and lemon grass last night, yummy I have to say. Shephers pie with swede top tonight.

Have not had a glass of wine for three days and think I'm sleeping better, but felt very groggy this morning, not good!

Pwsimerimew · 06/02/2009 15:11

How many sins in a blueberry muffin?
Do I want to Know?

sugarlumps · 06/02/2009 15:51

not really!!! lol
an average size bluberry muffin is 16 syns what a joke!!!!!

im having a goodish week so far i think, i have resisted the urge to weigh myself, and am going to try not to until monday!!!
fingers crossed for 3llb so i get my stone!!!

thunderpants · 06/02/2009 15:51

can anyone give me this week's password please? didn't get to class on monday due to snow! thanks

sugarlumps · 06/02/2009 16:54

its mango chick x

thunderpants · 06/02/2009 20:14

thanks x

Franniban · 08/02/2009 18:54

Oh disaster! I bought some fat measuring scales from Aldi today, only £15, bargin I thought. But no, I am heavier that my old scales and it won't even calculate my body fat The bastard thing!!!!!
I thought I'd been really good this week, but I've gone up! Mind you, I'm on, so I'm hoping that is the reason for this disaster, none the less, am going over my sins with the red wine. Start again tomorrow.

sugarlumps · 09/02/2009 11:17

well.... i lost 2.5llbs this week, which isnt bad, but i wanted 3lbs for my stone award so a bit miffed!

hey ho! next week eh? although it is valentines on sat? uh oh.... lol maybe just go for that 1/2llb this week then

kid · 09/02/2009 22:25

I am sticking to it quite well. I have decided to be really strict and not use many syns. I don't count my syns but am using some by adding things like mayo to my lunch, or a fun size mars bar in the evening.
I am sticking to minimum use of syns in the hope I can lose weight!

If it doesn't work well, I will go back to counting them accurately. I have an idea how many syns things are, I just don't check though. WI is on Friday so I will see what happens then. Last week I stayed the same and I was counting syns, so I am interested to see how this week goes.

Sundays are always a bit of a pain on SW as I cook a sunday roast and like to eat it too! I have a little less meat and gravy and eat more veg with my dinner so I am hoping it sort of balances out.

lechuga · 10/02/2009 19:11

was just reading on a different site that Sainsbury's be Good to Yourself egg mayonnaise sandwich filler is free on both plans, it says 1 level tbsp=free. Sounds too good to be true? I checked it on syns on line and it does says its free. Do you think it's a mistake?

jenk1 · 12/02/2009 08:27

Hello

i joined a class last night,as i had heard about the new extra easy plan and my friend has lost a stone in 4 weeks

i have done SW before and i know it works, ive got about 3-4 stone to lose but i know im going to do it.

going shopping today to stock up on all the essentials.

Tommy · 12/02/2009 16:40

lost a pound this week - but have missed 2 weeks so it's not that great really.

I had got a bit blase about it so after weigh on Tuesday I started writing everything down and again and will try to stay within my syns limit.

What's this EE everyone's going on about?

jenk1 · 12/02/2009 21:04

hiya Tommy

Extra easy is where you can eat both meat and pasta, potatos on the same plate, you have a list of free food, the main difference is that you only get 1 A and 1 B choice instead of 2, ive found it easier today doing it this way

Tommy · 12/02/2009 22:35

thanks - not sure that would work for me as we don't eat meat - I'll stick with my carbs and veg!
