hi all

caykon, you're right, rice isn't a Healthy Extra, but as I don't usually use many syns (I save mine up for if I'm going out or there's something special coming up when I'm likely to go over) I tend to count it as one. Tbh, rice is pretty low syn-wise so you're safe with it. Hope I haven't made things complicated, are you doing ok with the plan?

I've got the curry on the go at the moment as Friday nights I take my ds to cricket then I go to morrisons so by the time I get it I'm ravenous so I thought I'd be organised and have it ready, just put the rice on whilst I put the shopping away! Hopefully it'll stop me picking at the biscuits!!!

ladymariner · 22/01/2009 19:25

I'm going for a bath now and then I'm going to watch that program at 8pm about what's really in cheap food and whilst I'm watching it I'm going to try one (or maybe two if they're good - purely in the interests of research, doncha know ) of those new chocolate mullerlite yoghurts. The choc & vanilla one and the choc & orange one are free, and the choc and cherry one is 2 syns but according to loads of the members at my class its well worth it, so I shall let you all know!!!

ladymariner · 22/01/2009 22:16

Just tried the new Mullerlite yoghurts, and they're scrummy!!! The chocolate and cherry is 2 syns on SW, but even better, the vanilla and chocolate and the orange and chocolate which is my favourite now, are free and they really are lovely!!! I'm going to buy some more tomorrow and put some in the freezer.

(I've posted this on the othr thread aswell, spreading the word!!! )

kid · 22/01/2009 23:57

I received the EE details from a friend in the post. I haven't actually been to a SW group so I only know what I have read.

With EE, you start by chosing your free foods first. There are quite a lot to choose from. The part I love about it is, you can mix red and green foods in the same meal, as long as you have some SS foods. Some examples of SS foods are baked beans, carrots, cod, garden peas, mushy peas, grapefruit, melon)
You need to fill your plate with approx a 3rd of SS foods.

Then you chose 1 HE A and 1 HE B. Then you chose your syns (between 10-15 per day)

If something is worth 8 syns on a red day and 2 syns on a green day, you take the green day syns.

I started it on Monday and so far, I have lost 5lb and I haven't felt hungry at all. I really do recommend it.

ladymariner · 23/01/2009 07:08

That sounds reawlly good, kid, and mega well done on our weight loss, 5lbs is huge

My friend at SW does EE and enjoys it, but I prefer the usual REd or Green approach, I find it works best for me.

ladymariner · 23/01/2009 07:09

That should be your , not our!!!! Sorry xx

kid · 23/01/2009 16:28

Does anyone have the PW please?

caykon · 23/01/2009 17:03

kid · 23/01/2009 19:05

sugarlumps · 26/01/2009 19:06

hi guys not been on here for a couple of weeks, i've lost 10.5llb since jan 5th so im quite impressed with that, however since weigh in this morning i have had a bit of a pig out session lol!

password this week is shrimp

did i read right earlier in the thread that there are sausages that are free???? as in realy meat sausages???? i need more info on those bad boys ;)

caykon · 26/01/2009 19:19

I think there are some morrisons ones that are free, but I don't shop there so get the weight watchers ones that are 1/2 syn each which I don't think is too bad

Well done on the loss, that is great

Earthymama · 26/01/2009 21:20

Can I join please? I'm new to SW this will my 3rd week and I think I've got it.

Anyone a pudding person? what would be your top tips?

kid · 26/01/2009 22:45

I really don't enjoy the quorn sausages, so if there are sin free real sausages, I would love to know more!

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 12:05

kid, trying to rack my brain right now....because there is a website that sells properly butchers sausages that are all free on SW....
I will try and find the site for you and post a link

OP posts:
FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 12:10

Oh there is more than the one site my SW-Leader mentioned, because this one isn't the one she tod us about...but can't find hers...so here:

hi all - couldn't get to weigh in thisweek as DS3 has chicken pox. I weighed myself on my own scales which shows about a pound and a half off which is good news.

That website looks good Fairlady - pity this is a meat-free household

The Cauldron veggie sausages are about 1 1/2 syns each and they are much nicer than the Quorn ones

lisalisa · 27/01/2009 12:48

Well I'm weighing in to say hello.

Joined SW last night and feel very motivated.

Have had on my first day ( red):

Brekkie - quorn sausages ( cumberland flavour which are free ) x2, baked beans ( as syns - don't ask why - made a mistake!!), fried egg ( with frylight - not bad but doesn't go crispy ) and plum tomaotes . Was yum.

Mid morning had banana.

Lunch - home made butternut squash soup followed by salad ( using one tablespoon olive oil - I like proper salad drsseings - as healthy extra) and smoked salmon. One low fat fruit yog for desert as syns.

Supper will be fresh salmon and salad and jacket potato as healthy extra.

Can all this really help me lose weight? sounds to good to be true really?

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 13:18

The Quorn Chilli sausages are quite nice and the apple ones...

OP posts:
Tommy · 27/01/2009 13:21

are the apple ones free? I thought they had syns - I may be wrong. They're not too bad

FairLadyRantALot · 27/01/2009 13:24

I am not totally sure...if they have syns it's something like 1/2 a syn each...

OP posts:
kid · 27/01/2009 22:58

I've only ever seen the quorn bangers in Sainsburys. Never seen any other version of them.

I do like cumberland sausages (think they are Sainsburys be good to yourself) and they are only 1/2 syn on red or EE.

fairydust · 28/01/2009 13:08

well 11 pound off so far so feeling good

does anyone know of any super noodles that a re free as well don't have them very often but there good for a quick lunch with some peppers chucked in ????

Jael · 28/01/2009 14:48

Hiya, My DP has been going to SW for the last 12 weeks or so, and has so far lost just over a stone. I however, haven't been sticking to his SW diet with him, I'm almost 6 months pregnant, and all food restrictons have gone out of the window due to my body craving weird and wonderful things. Including creme eggs by the boxes. I've been doing my reading up though, around 9 syns an egg I think I will however be joining SW when baby's born, as I'll need to lose around 3 stone.

My DP has been having those new Muller light Yoghurts, didn't know that cherry one was 2 syns though, howcome?

Am also very interested to know where they stock other varieties of quorn sausages, someone mentioned chlli ones?

Jael X
