Hi TB. I can't help you with the Red meals - although I'm not veggie I find Green days easier too.

(My sigs on the other site now, it's one I use on a different forum!)

ProfYaffle · 12/05/2009 11:39

TB - I love red days, my faves are home made burgers (having those tonight), spiced lamb meatloaf and chicken wrapped in bacon. For lunch I'm currently having a craze on sliced meat with roasted peppers, grated cheese (he a) and SW syn free mayonaise.

If any of those appeal I'll type out the recipe for you.

Snorris · 12/05/2009 11:44

I like the sound of the meatloaf and what's the syn free mayo?

ProfYaffle · 12/05/2009 11:49

The syn free mayo was a recipe on these little fridge magnets I got with my sw at home pack. I mix half a tsp mustard (orig recipe said 1tsp but I find that too strong) with 2tbsp white wine vinegar, add to 6 tbsp v low fat fromage frais and 2tsp sweetener. imho doesn't taste exactly like mayo but is a nice, light, mustardy dressing.

Meatloaf is also on that recipe list I linked to, it's 500g minced lamb mixed with
3tsp dried mint
2tsp cumin
1tsp mint sauce
1tsp garlic granules
1tsp onion or celery salt

squidge together, shape into rugby ball shape, wrap in bacon and bake in the oven at gm5 for an hour. It can be served as is, or make up a basic tomato sauce, pour the fat off the meatloaf then pour the sauce over and return to the over for another 15 mins or so.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 12/05/2009 13:40

Hi

The Spiced Lamb Meatloaf sounds nice can i have that recipe please?

Im so determined to do this, this time. My downfalls are caving tos tress with the kids, my son is on a high fat diet so my house if full of cakes and sweets which i reach for at times of stress. I had one of those moments just now but i reached for just 2 squares of Dark Chocolate and a Bannana instead which is a real impovement for me.

I have made 2 individual free on Red cottage pies for mine and dp's dinner tonight. For those of you who have evening groups do you eat dinner before or after you go?

ProfYaffle · 12/05/2009 14:24

It's there already in my previous post!

JennyPenny22 · 12/05/2009 16:03

mmm, that sounds nice profyaffle. I will give it a go when I do my food shop!

I have registered on the SW forum, think that looks great for finding out all the info, especially as I can't afford to pay to join.

Does everybody find the magazine usefull? I think I might subscribe to it, which is not too expensive if I am going to use it.

ConnieComplaint · 12/05/2009 20:04

Hey everybody

Sorry I've been AWOL for a couple of days

Hiya TB, how did weigh in go tonight?

MAmaG... I think I welcomes you on the sparkly place...I am a scary biscuit.... and if it's not you then some other newbie is going to wonder why I'm winking at her....

HAven't done too bad yesterday or today though I don't feel like I've lost weight!!

I have had EE days all week & always panic when I reach the scales incase I have gained. I made myself a promise this week I would stay away from the scales before Wednesday, but now I wanna know...............

ConnieComplaint · 12/05/2009 20:08

I never eat dinner before I go. But that's simply because I finish work at 5.30pm & my group starts at 5.45pm in the same town!!

So I go, get weighed, buy a packed of healthy extra bars (their name totally totally escaps me & I am waaay too lazy to walk to the kitchen & see!) & make a cup of tea and stay for class.

On the nights DH is working I go, get weighed in, stay for a bit of class then leave to enable him to be at work in time.

A lot of members don't weight before class but I guess it's an individual thing.

ConnieComplaint · 12/05/2009 20:20

MamaG....I think I'm chatting to you on the sparkly place...but you seem to think I am a tortoise....

Chloe55 · 12/05/2009 20:41

Hi, can I jump in? Connie - you have named changed I do believe [Chloe55 dons fake moustache and French accent] Have been shouting for you in chat

fuzzypeach · 12/05/2009 20:43

jennypenny i find the mags useful, they have some good recipes in and some inspirational stories for days when im lacking the inspiration!

does anyone know this weeks password? i have had a holiday again this week as was unable to get to the meeting

just had lamb & turnip rogan josh out of the one-pot cookbook i bought at the class, it was lovely!

Chloe55 · 12/05/2009 20:43
  • have just seen your response - you really did confuse me then!! So, you're not Tortoise? Shit, had better try and get rid of my CHAT thread
fuzzypeach · 12/05/2009 20:45

Oh, and I weigh at lunchtime and dont eat until after the class - but when i went to a night one i would eat lunch (but a light one!!) and wait til after before having my dinner!

ConnieComplaint · 12/05/2009 20:51

PMSL @ Chloe55!!!! No, never was a tortoise...was a firefly at one time though

I don't be around much anymore though Stupid life came & took over....

Chloe55 · 12/05/2009 20:52

That's what I used to do Fuzzy, was always starving by the time I got home. I am doing it without a class this time though, am determined to be just as disciplined though as have a hen do due in 4 weeks.

Lilyloo · 12/05/2009 20:53

i cannot believe it 2.5 off this week!!
Even with the really bad day on Sat
The meatloaf is nice especially with a tomato sauce on or i make a creme fraiche , mint , cucumber and onion dip and sw free chips with it!!
Have just had lovely dessert and only 3 syns a portion!
1 hartleys lime sugar free jelly
juice 1 lemon
250ml diet lemonade
1 33g sachet low sugar dream topping
120ml skimmed milk

dissolve jelly in 250 ml boile water. Add lemon juice and lemonade leave to cool. Whisk dream topping with milk (reserve 4 heaped tbsp to decorate) whisk into jelly. divide between 4 glasses. Set in fridge for 2 hours. Spoon topping on and serve with lemon wedge!!
mmmmm

Anyone know how many syns sw chips are on red day please ?

oh and password is TURNIP!

MamaG · 12/05/2009 21:43

Connie I don't think you are talking to me on sparkly forum ... I can't see any scary biscuits!

JennyPenny22 · 12/05/2009 21:52

Do you know if tinned fruit is free at all? I am thinking that tinned fruit and mullerlight would make a nice pudding if it is free?

Lilyloo · 12/05/2009 22:14

tinned fruit not free sorry , which type ?

JennyPenny22 · 12/05/2009 22:22

. Not fussed which type, it's just that I am a very "pudding" person and I am already soo bored of just plain mullerlight! I just had tinned fruit salad mixed with drinking yogurt (I haven't started the SW plan yet) and really enjoyed it. And it was actually filling, unlike just a mullerlight on its own.

ConnieComplaint · 12/05/2009 22:42

Is MamaG and Chloe55 two different people? Oops..............

annoyingdevil · 12/05/2009 22:55

Can I join you too? I joined last week and first weigh in on Thurs - eek.

I made some jerk chicken tonight and it nearly blew my head off!!! I was very disappointed to see that brown rice is not classed as a H/E. Does anyone know why that is? I bought a sack load of the stuff for red days, and fear it may go to waste

I was hoping to make lots of curries and spicy meat dishes, and they just don't taste as good served with potatoes

JennyPenny22 · 12/05/2009 23:13

annoyingdevil - Can you not do an EE day? I think rice is free on EE - or have I got that wrong?

So no tinned fruit is free then? Do you know why? Obviously the ones in syrup are free, but what about the ones in their own juice?

nikkid21 · 13/05/2009 06:46

No tinned fruit at all is free. It's because of the volume that you can eat - ie you could easily eat 5 peaches tinned but you wouldn't do that if it was whole untinned peaches.
You can have some tinned fruit as a Healthy B choice but there is not a lot of choice.

If you like sweet things you can have unlimiter frozen fruit - so the bags of berries are good. I have them with mullerlight and a 3 syn meringue nest.
