Hi girls!!

Right.... the rules:

1 No big goals.
2 No failing.
3 No guilt trips.

Our goals need to be realistic. It freaks me out to think I need to lose 10 stone. That's 140 pounds - it's a WHOLE PERSON!!!!

Therefore I propose that we make ourselves realistic goals. Ignore the final hurdle; the first hurdle is my first half a stone.

7 lbs.

No failing: if you put on any weight, then IT IS ALRIGHT. It will come off again.

We will try our best to keep our weight going down, but if it has a blip, then it has a blip - no big deal, ok?

I am sick and tired of putting myself on and feeling guilt tripped by people because I put a pound or two on this week.

NEWSBREAK: it doesn't matter in the big picture!

Focus on the positives.

We will encourage each other as we muddle along together, agreed?

Here is our inspiration to keep going:

Only One Pound

Hello! Do you know me? If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat. And I am the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.

Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!

Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.

So I just stick around and happily keep you fat. Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it. That is until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.

Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.

So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound." (As if that were such a terrible thing) For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.

And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.

Happy Days!!! After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

LM, we need to keep this going even if there are only 3 of us. It's really helped to have somewhere to rant for the last few weeks. This is the best I've ever done and I'm not going to stop now.
Got a Simply Be catologue today. The clothes are utterly utterly vile. Couldn't stand it if I had to order from there ever again.
LM and MHE let's stick with it even if everyone else has deserted

ladymariner · 15/02/2009 09:50

god yes, swedish, no more "fat girl" catalogues for us!!! The only catalogue I need for bigger sizes is my Bravissimo one (I kneel and worship at the feet of the founder of that!!) because unfortunately all the dieting in the world isn't going to reduce these puppies to normal sizing!!! And I can live with that, although to be a 36c would be lovely it's just not going to happen

I've really liked having this thread, it's helped me no end, I've come here when I would perhaps have been eating, such as when I've come in from work, or when dh is on nights. No, we definately cannot let this one go!!

MumHadEnough · 15/02/2009 10:42

Thanks for the welcome back ladies . Glad to hear you two are still doing well. As you say swedish, even if there's only the three of us we can keep each other going. Dreading weighing tomorrow morning, I've been a pig yesterday too, oh well, I'll just need to behave all week.

LM I know what you mean about the puppies, I'm big chested too and I swear I could be a size 6 waist and I'd still havemy 38DD boobs. Not as bad as my wee sister though who is a size 8 waist (or at least was, but she's pregnant) and has humungous 32HH boobies

ladymariner · 15/02/2009 15:27

Crikey, I thought mine were big, I'm a 36H but I'm 5"8 tall and a size 16 so I kind of balance out a bit.
Voluptuous, perhaps?.......starts laughing and wonders who I'm trying to kid!!!

swedishmum · 15/02/2009 18:30

Strange... in the shower this morning I was thinking to myself if a strange man walked in would I cover my stomach or my boobs. Definitely my stomach.
Must get out more.....

Goober · 15/02/2009 19:59

Hi all.
Just wanted to share that I have lost a stone in 18 days.
Another 2 stone to go.....

swedishmum · 16/02/2009 08:35

That's brilliant Goober.
I need to up the exercise this week. Hope we can all avoid the half term munchies.

ladymariner · 16/02/2009 11:24

Keep everything crossed for me later, ladies, I go for my weekly weigh-in, and I shall be GUTTED if I haven't lost this week. I've walked and played badminton, and my only slip was 2 chocolate fingers and a penguin wafer, and using the juices from the beef yesterday to make my gravy!!!! And if that has meant I haven't lost I shall spit and stamp in it

I'm with you on the boobs v stomach, swedish, I'd do the same!! Me and dh sleep spoons and if he feels my boobs I'm ok, but if he feels my stomach I breathe in!!!! How sad is that?? (and perhaps TMI.....sorry!!)

ladymariner · 16/02/2009 17:04

Hurrah, I've lost 4lbs this week, ask me how happy I am!! Go on, ask me.....ok, I'll tell you!!!! VERY VERY HAPPY
That's 12lbs in 5 weeks now, feel as though I'm starting to get somewhere now!

MumHadEnough · 16/02/2009 17:33

Wow wow Goober and Ladymariner! HUGE well done. So how happy are you LM? . What have you been doing Goober?

Well did intend on getting back on cambridge today but it just didn't happen, so I will promise to try again tomorrow. Once I'm past the first three days I'm fine, but just can't get into it.

Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow!

ladymariner · 16/02/2009 18:15

TTTHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS HAPPY, MHE [grin[

Just been singing "tomorrow" along to chris evans, mum, must have been rooting for you! Tomorrow is the day, we'll have a roll-call in the morning and get each other, and anyone else who's around, on task. We can do this!!

Goober · 16/02/2009 20:36

I have stopped drinking. Now just eating low fat foods, mostly vegetables and fruit.

RoobeeToozdae · 16/02/2009 21:17

Hi Ladies,

Do you mind if I join you? I have 3 stone to lose and need to improve my fitness (although having 11mths g/g dts I feel like I run a marathon each day!)

Am going back to work after year on mat leave and will try WW again along with Wii Fit but would also appreciate some mutual moral support.

ladymariner · 16/02/2009 21:26

Hey Roobee, come join us, we're very welcoming!!!

swedishmum · 16/02/2009 23:17

Excellent LM!!!
Welcome Roobee!
Grief today - out shopping with dcs (and checking out dd's route/timing for her work experience). Although low carb is great in reastaurants, there's a real lack of salads/soup out there for lunch at coffee places etc. Grrrr.
Plus moment - (as opposed to plus size moment) - in New Look with teenage dds 1 and 2, couldn't believe how big the plus sized clothes looked. Never for me again

ladymariner · 17/02/2009 10:05

Morning everyone, hope we're all feeling gooooooooooooood today??? Come on, MHE, this is the day!!

MumHadEnough · 17/02/2009 10:49

Morning .

Pleased to say that so far I'm in the zone. Only had a cuppa so far this morning but planning on having my first shake in about five minutes. I'm going to do this. Back up to 10st 12lbs this morning.

Hi Roobee, the more the merrier. What are you planning to do diet wise?

swedishmum · 17/02/2009 15:47

I must start taking low carb snacks out with me - felt quite light headed after 3 hours at soft play centre with nothing but black coffee and water. A Spanish friend told me she read a low carb book by an author who always carried a tin of sardines with her for emergencies . Can't see it catching on.

ladymariner · 17/02/2009 15:50

There's something a bit fishy about that, swedish. I guess you'd have to be in the right plaice for it!!

boom boom

Alambil · 17/02/2009 17:51

Hi guys n dolls... how you all doing?

Been really struggling round this way with my mental health so have not even started dieting (infact, I stopped eating - which clearly doesn't help matters!)

Anyway, just wanted to say I haven't forgot about you all... keep up the good work

Hey Lewis, great to see you, looking forward to you joining us again as and when
xxx

twoluvlykids · 17/02/2009 18:38

Hi, I'm pleased I found this one again, as it "dropped off" my threads (unlike my weight!)

Anyway, WW weigh in last week showed I have lost half stone, and 2 lbs off 5% of body weight.

Bit like Goober, I've found it's easier to shed weight without the booze.

My jeans are quite baggy, and I'm looking forward to fitting into a smaller size.

Good luck everyone - it seems to be a life long battle, doesn't it??

ladymariner · 17/02/2009 19:18

Well done, two, thats great. I love it when things start to feel loose, makes you feel its all worthwhile

swedishmum · 17/02/2009 20:13

Take care of yourself Lewisxx
Two, well done and nice to see you back.

RoobeeToozdae · 17/02/2009 21:22

Evening All,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Well not organised at all today diet wise but have worked out best time to go to WW that fits in with my return to work. I need to do some shopping to stock up on good things so thats job over next couple of days then do a meal planner.

Good news is that I did 30 minutes on the WiiFit this evening - first time in 6 months, omg I can't believe how unfit I am. I am going to start a exercise diary to check off what I do. Aim to do some swimming or power walking 3 times a week with Wii for other 3 with 1 night off!

How has everyone's day gone?
