My scales are like that too

mileniwmffalcon · 22/01/2009 15:22

lololol thanks to a long walk this morning and a dance class this afternoon (+walk there and back) i've consumed 1 less calorie than i've expended today woohoo

Dozymare · 22/01/2009 15:26

I prefer FF.....and it's free! Do you think they will get their websiote sorted???

GrimbleTheResourceful · 22/01/2009 22:02

Well, I was well and truly wrong, wasn't I?

I must admit I'm puzzled, I would have thought the FF site has great potential in terms of revenue from advertisers, but what do I know, except that I'm really disappointed?

I was getting on sooo well with it, and I really can't be doing with any sort of conventional pen-and-paper-calorie-counting.

Dozymare · 23/01/2009 13:35

hello all - am still v.v.peed off that FF isn't working, have resigned myself to the fact that i need to do WLM. HOWEVER, am starting today and my official weight is 15st 5lbs (still the same as weigh in on FF Monday which just goes to show that I "need" to keep tracking. Haven't done officially, just in my head since FF went down and no weight loss which just goes to show)

Anyway, am forgetting what I have done in the past 2 weeks, and starting officially today......when is everyone else starting?

Has anyone tried this?

I prefer the look of it to WLR.

mileniwmffalcon · 24/01/2009 11:32

have set myself up on nutracheck's free trial to have a side-by-side comparison with wlr. it's thrown up a few interesting things already - nutracheck has the calories for kellogg's just right wrong. not their fault i don't think, it's wrong on the side of the box! (i.e. the stats per 100g compared to the stats per 40g serving are all over the place). i realise calorie burn is mostly guesswork, but nc gives me twice as many calories for yoga and recreational swimming as wlr does, i'm more inclined to believe wlr.

i do like the layout and look of the site, and found it very easy to find things in the database so far, but i don't like the way it automatically sets you a 200cal exercise target per day with no way of changing it. what i like most about these style of sites is that there are no rules, you make it work the best way for you - this just strikes me as "we know what's best for you" bossiness which really gets my back up.

GrimbleTheResourceful · 24/01/2009 12:23

Thanks mileni, that doesn't sound right for me. I also like the "no rules" approach, and it sounds like WLR would be better.

It's possible FF may pop up again at the beginning of Feb as bandwidth usually works on a monthly basis. Not much good if it runs out again mid-month though. I'm sorely disappointed, I was really getting on well with that site.

Ceebee74 · 24/01/2009 13:26

My fave bit about WLR is definitely the way you can get a weekly summary of your calorie intake - I am -457 calories which means I can have a mini blowout this weekend

Went to my old aerobics class today just to see how I got on - and I could do most of it It was obviously worthwhile continuing to go until I was 7 months pg as it means my fitness levels haven't dropped that much! I really enjoyed it aswell

LadyBuzz · 24/01/2009 17:39

I have fallen off the wagon I'm soooo hungover and needed stodge - namely a large big mac meal with full fat coke anda mcflurry oh and a greggs sausage roll this morning and a giant yorkshire pud with roasr beef
Not to mention the alcohol last night.
Oh yeah and I'm out again tonight and tommorow is my birthday. I have no chance.
I will still weight myself tommorow and get my arse back into gear BIG TIME.

LadyBuzz · 25/01/2009 14:17

Well despite having a bad week I have lost 1lb and have hit my first half stone .
Must have been all the dancing last night.

Ceebee74 · 25/01/2009 19:57

Lost 1lb this week which I am a bit about as I have been really good (apart from lunch on Friday!) and done loads of exercise...but trying to stay positive and think a pound off is better than a pound on!

I did an aerobics class again today and did more than I did yesterday - nearly back to full fitness so am really chuffed since it has been 3 months since I did the class and even then, as I was 7 months pg, I was taking it easy
