I am starting tomorrow - am currently munching my way through all the cr*p in the house as anything that is left at bedtime tonight is going in the bin!!

I am going to weigh myself on Sunday nights and am ashamed to admit my starting weight is 15st 9lbs .

My target weight is 12st so only 3 1/2 stone to lose........tis going to be long-haul I feel.

evening all

You have sold me on the Claire Richards one (who is she, will google the DVD ina minute) I was also a gym junkie for around 10 years, it was only when I stopped (ie had kids and became a SAHM that I put 5 stone on. AND all in 5 years). I used to go most lunchtimes and 1x at the weekend, and ate hardly anything...Anyway, moving on....

As soon as DD is old enough (10 weeks today, 2 more to go) to go into the creche at the gym I will be back. Have started excercise this week, have been for 2 powerwalk/jog and another tomorrow. I like the idea of a DVD at home though as may have to give up my gym membership due to finances - and the creche is £5 an hour......

Off for dinner now, prawns and casesar salad.

Well done ladybuzz I too also thought you were calling me a right tit

what has everyone else eaten today???

coolkat · 08/01/2009 19:53

I had

Special K

Granry roll and Tomato soup

Packet plain crisps

Panfried diced chicken breast with veg rice and Broccoli.

Again my snacks let me down, some minstrels, a penguin and a strawberry lace sweet

I also took the dog for a good walk with Becca in the pram. Just crave choc, don't know if its cause BFing or just plain greed

Dozymare · 08/01/2009 19:56

don['t forget if you are breastfeeding you get an extra 500 calories a day!!!!!

coolkat · 08/01/2009 20:01

I consume that in Chocolate and sweets though thats the trouble, I should be eating healthier 'wholesome' (!) foods, Bah next week will try harder. . . .

Honest!

Dozymare · 08/01/2009 20:04

chocolate or a banana...no contest!!!!!! what dog have oyu got?? what diet are oyu following?

coolkat · 08/01/2009 20:09

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Troy named by DD after HSM!!

We got him November 07, lovely but feel guilty as banished to the utility room since Rebecca was born! Nightmare on his lead so I get a good walk! Is it you who has the Britax Vigour the same as me or was it Heartmum?

Re Diet, I dieted a lot when I was younger and it got a bit messy so I am just trying to be healthier,I know fat and calories of mist foods from younger days! I am thinking I should not have joined this thread

missnatalie · 08/01/2009 20:24

Yes they can be done low impact. Just dont do the constant jumping/bouncing that they do throughout. Ive been starting off bouncing but after 10 mins i cant take anymore so just do the exercise without the bouncing.

Dozymare · 08/01/2009 20:31

COOLKAT I also had issues with food about 10 years ago...have not dieted since so hoping that being older, wiser etc I can see the signs of becoming to obsessed!!

Don't know anything about HSM having 2 older boys, but ask me what you like on Star wars - I am the pro

missnatalie · 08/01/2009 20:43

Today ive had:

2 x toast with flora butterly spread
Cappachino

Honey & Mustard Chicken with Parsnip mash
5 marshmellows

Tin of Heinz tomato soup
2 x white bread & flora butterly spread
5 marshmellos
Cappachino

I really wish i hadnt had the marshmellows or cappachinos. I didnt realise how many calories there were in them .

Ive still got 33 calories left for today but think ill give them a miss. Im too full to eat anything else.

Back to my exercise again tomorrow. Im actually looking forward to doing it. Me thinks im becoming adicted again

juanitad · 08/01/2009 20:46

Was so pleased with myself that I managed to go swimming today, yipee! Was nice to spend some time on my own, I felt like the old, pre-baby me. Also burned a good few calories. On the downside though, had fish, chips and mushy peas for tea! That pretty much cancelled out my good work!!

Sounds like everyone else is doing well. I too am finding foodfocus a bit scary, who knew there were so many calories in a glass of milk? (I love milk!) Am finding I am getting addicted to the website already! Better go and log the fish and chips now. I dead to think how many calories they will be!!

Dozymare · 08/01/2009 20:52

well done missnatalie there is a seperate thread for those of us doing www.foodfocus.co.uk. Not sure how to link to it thouhg I am on both threads, as one is my post natal, the other for foodfocus, so no doubt I am going to get my knickers in a twist!!!

juanitad well done on swimming - did you manage to do some lengths??????

Let us know about the cals in fish and chips!!!!

Ceebee74 · 08/01/2009 21:00

Dozy Claire is out of Steps - she used to weigh 15 1/2 stone after having her DS but has lost 5 stone and looks amazing!! The soundtrack of the DVD is all Steps songs - it might put you off it

Juanitad good on you for the swimming - it is lovely to have some non-baby time isn't it?

I am going to the gym for the first time tomorrow since having DS2....there is a Step class on which I really want to do but I know it will be too much for me so soon so I guess I will just have to go and do boring stuff in the gym instead.

Been quite good today - although did have a tiny slice of lemon cake at my friend's house and have just had 3 chocolate tree decorations which are still hanging round the house - still within my calorie intake though according to the website.

well done ceebee... i think the secrfet is to keep on tracking, this is how I have lost weight in the past. I am going to have my ovaltine chocolate in a minute. Feeling a bit antsy at the moment as if I could pig out.

Then I read my reasons why i want to lose weight, plus my measurements and resolve get's stronger.

LadyBuzz · 08/01/2009 21:22

Stay focused Dozy I had a crunchie to celebrate my loss but I logged it and it is within my allowance.

I might look at that DVD too - I am was a steps fan so would probably love it.

Dozymare · 08/01/2009 21:30

am focussed again ladybzz HAVING MY chocolate ovaltine so good!!!!

Question, what happens if we have calories left (I have 42 for today) do they get carried over like WW points??!

LadyBuzz · 08/01/2009 21:45

I was wondering that, weight management was the same you could carry over or save up points for a treat.

missnatalie · 08/01/2009 21:50

OMG i have just realised that this is the Nov 08 Post-natel diet thread!! Sorry ladies didnt realise. Didnt mean to barge in

LadyBuzz · 08/01/2009 22:05

ruthosaurus · 09/01/2009 09:58

Bugger, had takeaway last night in spite of all best intentions. Now I have to go and confess all to the god of food focus.

Ceebee74 · 09/01/2009 11:50

Just been for my first post-baby gym session - god it felt good!! I have really missed it!

Have calculated on FF that I can have half a bottle of wine tonight - it was worth sweating it out at the gym just for that!!

MissNatalie please stick around... this thread isn't just for PN Nov 08 mums

missnatalie · 09/01/2009 13:23

Thanks for letting me stay ladies

Have just done my steps work out and god i feel good. I timed it and the whole work out lasts 1hr 10min. Did you buy the DVD Ceebee? DS joins in now but all he can do is the bounce. He looks ever so cute doing it. I accidently kicked him in the mouth whilst doing the combat bit . He wasnt one bit bothered though. Just got up and carried on bouncing. Good job i wasnt properly going for it or i could have knocked his new teeth out.

Hows everyone doing today?

Dozymare · 09/01/2009 16:46

afternon all - glad we are all on track, I went out for a 40 min run this afternoon as my lovely mum offered to have the DC's for an hour.....I am still so, so shocked at how unfit I am. Hated every single minute of it which is very unlike me. Need to get my fitness levels back up, although the endorphine rush at the end was good

I too will be induldging in some wine tonight!!!! My "treat" TO myself. ceebeee remind me, did oyu have a CS?? How "hard" are you working if so??

Ceebee74 · 09/01/2009 18:26

MissNat I haven't got the DVD yet - am going to see if Sainsburys have it tomorrow and if not, order it from Amazon.

Dozy yes I did have a CS so am taking it easy - today I did a 20-minute walk (I am not and never will be a runner - hate it!!) on the treadmill at a slightly slower speed than usual and not up as many hills as usual, 10 minutes on a machine that moves your legs side to side (no idea what it is called) and 20 minutes cycling at a reasonable pace. Also did some weights (but not overhead ones that might stretch my stomach) and some gentle sit-ups. Everything felt ok whilst I was there so I guess it is just a case of increasing slowly now - I am dying to get back to my high-intensity aerobics but am probably a few weeks off that yet (plus I had DS2 about 3 or 4 weeks after you had DD so am quite a bit behind you in terms of recovery).

Am SO looking forward to my wine tonight...yum!
