I am starting tomorrow - am currently munching my way through all the cr*p in the house as anything that is left at bedtime tonight is going in the bin!!

I am going to weigh myself on Sunday nights and am ashamed to admit my starting weight is 15st 9lbs .

My target weight is 12st so only 3 1/2 stone to lose........tis going to be long-haul I feel.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/01/2009 16:59

great link dozy......at 500 calories a day reduction, it'll be 294 days before I reach my target weight....yikes!

I've registered now and even childcare counts as exercise; I like it

juanitad · 05/01/2009 17:46

Thought I would join this thread too. I need to lose a stone and a half to get back to pre-pregnancy weight. BMI calculator puts me at 25.71 which I know isn't too bad but still is overweight and I would love to get back to what I used to be. Maybe that's just an impossible dream! I'm going to try to cut out the crap from my diet. Exercise will mainly consist of walking with the pram plus dance mat! When the dance mat first came out on the ps2 a few years ago I loved it but it has been sitting unloved in the loft for a long time now. Time to resurrect it I think!

OblomovOYeFaithful · 05/01/2009 18:55

I am same height as Daisy and Buzz at 5' 2''.
Tonight we had roast chicken. And for tomorrow I have prepared beef casserole with dumplings. Not exactly 'diety' are they ?
I don't think I should participate in the listing what I eat thing - I think you all might be horrified, AND puzzled as to how I have lost ANY weight in the last couple of months.

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 05/01/2009 19:14

Evening all - obs please keep posting, if only to keep my taste buds active! Tonight I am having chicken breast marinated in fresh ginger, spring onions and teriyaki sauce with a portion of rice and spinach (no butter {sob})

May also treat myself to a yog!

Dsaisy I just knew you would love the fact you can burn of the cals by looking after kids!

In fact, I am not going to do WW or anything else, but just use this website to track what I eat, as my problem is portion control - I like a BIG portion (oh, eh missus

It will take me until the 9th November to get to my target weight of 9 stone 8lbs. That will be AFTER Tiger's 1st birthday and just in time for next Christmas to pile it all back on again.......DULL DULL DULL

Yorky · 05/01/2009 19:43

I love this thread already - had a really frustrating/don't swear in front of DCs challenge morning - but now you've all reminded me that it may not have achieved what I set out to do but I did go for a 45 min walk with 2DC in a silver cross pram (NOT a jogging buggy!) in the snow
And I won't tell DS off for finding my chocolate orange because he's just helping me, bless!
But apart from that I'm not boasting about sausage and mash, asda delivery tomorrow so will eat veg when we have some!

Ceebee74 · 05/01/2009 19:59

I started this thread and am sturggling to keep up already

Dozy unfortunately I can't find my WW calculator but will try and look properly tomorrow - but I see that you are not going to do WW anyway. If you still want to know the points of what all those foods, let me know as I know some of them and can probably guess the rest from years of experience

Thanks for that link - according to that it will be next Christmas before I lose my 3 and a half stone

Posting food diaries is a good idea I think as it might give us all other ideas of food to eat!

Today, I have had:

Porridge and a banana

2 crumpets with a tiny bit of butter on

1 and a half pitta breads with light philadelphia on plus packet of low-fat crisps

Small bowl of cornflakes

Apple

Popcorn (handful)

Pasta and pesto with a little bit of parmesan on

I know it looks a lot but I have to snack in between meals - I am definitely a 5 small meals a day person!!

Dh also needs to lose a lot of weight (about 4 stone) so he is with me on this - but he goes away a lot with work so will be tempted by nice restaurant meals and alcohol much more than me!

dingdongDOZYMAREishigh · 05/01/2009 20:50

well done ceebee Funny how you can't find your calculator and mine is broken - we must be pros eh

Check out the website I posted.....it is so bloody good....

www.foodfocus.co.uk

LackaDAISYcal · 05/01/2009 21:18

I was doing sooooo well.....and then we took the Christmas tree down so I ate six chocolate decorations; bad luck to have them haning around otherwise .

Then I was still hungry, after a reasonable sized portion of chicken curry at 5.30....so I ate the leftovers

I'm now having a large glass of port.

Someone slap me please; I'm truly crap at willpower.

Obs, I think the stress of the last weeks must be playing a part.

I think I'm eating a lot because I'm awake more; so either lack of sleep playing havoc with metabolism, or awake more = doing more stuff = needing more fuel.

must try harder.

Yorky · 05/01/2009 23:27

Forgot to say thanks to Daisy for spare tyre - will hang on to it as will hopefully make MOT less painful later this month (ducks quickly!)

OblomovOYeFaithful · 06/01/2009 08:12

Yesterday was not good for me, food wise.
I had bran flakes cereal.
A classic chocolate biscuit.
A packet of 2 minute tomato rissotto rice
2 cans of Diet coke ( like Dozy I am addcited)
Roast chicken, roast pots, carrots and peas
but then I finished it all of at about 8pm with a snickers ice cream bar = not good.

Today will try and do better. Have startedwith bran flaes again.= good start. Lets see if I can keep it up.

Ceebee74 · 06/01/2009 08:44

Dozy that website is fantastic - might be just what I need to keep track

Woke up this morning starving - normally don't have breakfast until after taking DS1 to nursery but there was no way I could do that today...so had porridge with a banana and a small box of raisins in it...yum!

OP posts:
mum2becks · 06/01/2009 09:00

morning all, gosh you all chat a lot on here too

okay, yesterday wasnt to good, i had -

Shreddies & milk (no sugar)
A cornish pasty (while in town as was so cold wanted something warm to eat )
Salmon sandwich
Roasted Veg & chicken

dont think too bad a day but then spoilt it with a snickers bar and a glass of wine in the evening

Also I like to drink tea but have to have sugar in it, so decided to try cutting it down a little bit at a time, do you think this will work??

Exercise - with 2 DC to look after full time I cant get to a gym or any classes but we have got a Wii Fit that is still in the box so intend to get that out and plenty of walks with the phil & teds (thinking the weight of 2 children should help burn some fat??) but already made the excuse that its far too slippy underfoot today

LackaDAISYcal · 06/01/2009 12:16

afternoon.

so far so not too bad today

muesli with skimmed milk for brekkie and then I had two biccies when I got back from the hospital.....170 cals each though

rice and left over curry planned for lunch
spag bol planned for tea (if I remember mushrooms)

Exercise so far....the school run this morning, and then another 20 mins at the hospital. I'm going to walk to the clinic and then pick DS up from school.....it's about a 50 minute round trip, but if i'm early for DS then I'll add a bit more distance in. It's cold here, but it's dry and clear and a lovely day. It was -5 in our garden at half nine this morning

LadyBuzz · 06/01/2009 16:32

I've had another good day here

2 slices wholemeal toast with Jam - No butter

Muller Light

Cheese and beetroot sandwich on wholemeal - No butter

Special K bar

We are having Chicken dry fried in garlic tonight with mixed veg

I will probably have a small bowl of cereal later on this evening aswell.

I have been for short walk aswell today - there is a special excersie bit on that web site for pushing a baby

Ceebee74 · 06/01/2009 16:41

Ladybuzz the website is great isn't it? It has exercise for carrying a baby aswell - so I logged the nursery run as that although as I was also pushing a 2-stone toddler in a stroller aswell, I must definitely have used more calories that it logged.

Yesterday I was 900 calories under my limit (which I don't believe can possibly be correct)

So far today I have had my breakfast, then 2 slices of toast with low-fat margarine on a couple of hours later.

Lunch - 1 and a half pitta breads with 2 hard-boiled eggs and some low-fat mayo, a bag of hula hoops and a snack size Twirl bar (in my defence, they are still in the house and I LOVE Twirls - there is only one left thankfully!)

Just had a small bowl of cornflakes

Tea - pasta and pesto again (we live off the stuff so it will feature regularly on my posts )

OP posts:
Dozymare · 06/01/2009 19:32

well done everyone 9apart from obs and her snickers!!!!

I have had a good day as well -

Porridge made with water and prunes
Jacket pot with Tuna and Sweetcorn, plus i tbsp of low fat mayo to mix
2 mugs of ovaltine chocolate light (REALLY filling and Chocolaty!)
1 fruit bar
10 pickled onions (to stop me eating kids leftover sausage and cheesy mash
chicken marinated in natural yog, lemon and garlic with HUGE portion of roasted celariac, butternut squash, celery, red pepper and onion.

will deffo have a yog for pud but later as stuffed!

who is using that website I posted? that is all I am using and reckon it is all I need - do you agree or should I be doing something else???

coolkat · 06/01/2009 19:37

Wow you guys are loads healthier than me all though not much fruit intake I see

Not posting what I have eaten as ashamed , however my walking is going great. Fed Becca at 10 then walked to town and back 1.5miles each way - up hill on way back!

Then walked across the fields to collect DD from school so another mile at least each way. Was very cold but really a lovely day here, paths icy so I donned my 'sensible' boots. My god though I can feel it in my hips now!

Ceebee74 · 06/01/2009 19:51

Dozy your tea sounds lovely - I am very Unfortunately I am not imaginative with food - particularly not midweek!

I am using that website and I honestly think it is all I am going to need - it is just like WW, in that you can see how many calories you have left in a day etc - but it does all the calculations for you.

OP posts:
coolkat · 06/01/2009 20:05

Wow I just did that website and it appears I am allowed to eat what I am eating.

Dozymare · 06/01/2009 20:19

yay for the website! ceebee honestly, it is so easy to make, it has to be with me and 3 kids under 5!

Is anyone craving things they shouldn't? I really wanted some choc, but as I am keeping a diary, I re-read that and confirmed all the reasons I want to be thin again and it got rid of th craving!

WE WILL DO IT THIS YEAR........

LackaDAISYcal · 06/01/2009 23:25

And that's all I'm saying this evening.

But I have walked, pushing 40kg of babies and buggy for about and hour and a half today; probably about 3-4km in all.

juanitad · 07/01/2009 11:21

thanks to whoever posted that website, it's great, and free! WW is something crazy like 30 quid a month, unless I read it wrong! I am still doing a fair bit of walking, but not managing any exercise vids, Patrick never gives me the opportunity! Going swimming tomorrow though, as my dad is coming for the day so I am going to leave him in chaege of P!

ruthosaurus · 07/01/2009 12:11

Hey ladies,

I just lied to the BMI calulator about my height.

How sad is that?

I think I've nearly eaten all the naughty food but our big one is takeaways. I need to realise that if I'm too tired to cook I'm probaby not safe to drive to the pizza place and should just make a sandwich...

Anyway, new year, new bum, so have had lovely cereal for brekky rather than a crunchie like yesterday.

Dozymare · 07/01/2009 13:00

hello all so far, so good today...had porridge with prunes for breakfast, 40 min run/jog/power walk and just had prawn salad and miso soup for lunch. Going to packet of hula hoops in a bit though, need some carbs!!!

Dinner - got some pork fillet, so going to make a stroganoff with low fat creme fraische and small portion of rice.....

how is everyone else doing

(I weighed myself, lost 1lb already!)

LadyBuzz · 07/01/2009 13:43

Dozy Well done you, I got on the Wii fit last night and have lost 2lb I know it will even out over the course of the week so I'm not getting to excited (honest )

I have been good so far

Toast and Jam for Brekkie again

Dairylea and beetroot sandwich for Lunch with quavers

I'm doing a spag bol for tonight so no treats for me today.
