....not necessarily the best kick-start to losing weight.
My Mum has just announced to my family that since I have put on weight, I am looking increasingly like my 20st rugby playing uncle. So, time to put away the pringles I fear! Anyone want to join me (after new year)

Thanks Chancellor, I'm sure I'll be better by the weekend.

Unfortunately I seem to be one of those people who eats whatever my mood; ill, happy, sad, stressed whatever. Such a pain as I have friends who go off food at such times, oh well, hey ho.

lilolilmanchester · 15/01/2009 00:08

oh poop. Just been out with a bunch of girlfriends and have had at least a bottle of wine. Have come home with the munchies and willpower hasn't stood by me. Will try to be good tomorrow... honest!!!!

lilolilmanchester · 15/01/2009 00:56

and now a stronger word than poop... have just finished off a box of Christmas biscuits. Need someone to come along tomorrow and give me a bit of a lecture. No will power, that's my problem. Plus soem very naughty friends!!!

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 15/01/2009 09:28

Nom nom, christmas biscuits!

You'll be fine though Lilo, you lost 2 pounds last week and still had treats so as long as you get back on the wagon today you'll be fine.

I was naughty and weighed myself this morning. Same weight as Sunday but hopefully by this Sunday I might see a reduction (praying).

Good luck everyone and keep at it.

NoShitSherlock · 15/01/2009 18:46

Lilo don't beat yourself up just start a fresh again.

How is doing?

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 16/01/2009 09:58

hi girls,

I cocked up yesterday! Had a blueberry muffin in town, then M&S carbonara with garlic bread, then some dairy milk. PLus white wine!

Must be good again today or I could be on a slippery slope. I'm going to Zizzi's for dinner tonight though, I guess I should have a salad or something..

lilolilmanchester · 16/01/2009 11:16

I think you're right, NSS, we mustn't beat ourselves up (and that includes you Chancellor!!) If we are being better than usual most of the time, longer term it will be more sustainable. The occasional blow-out is just living a normal life, surely? I think I'd got into the habit of drinking more and more regularly than is healthy, and then not caring about snacking (our usual food is pretty healthy to start with, it's the extras!) We're off out for a curry tonight, will just try to eat less and order a healthier option (tho am with a big group and we'll all have bits of each others).
Had a good day yesterday, weekends are my downfall!

NoShitSherlock · 16/01/2009 14:36

I have been sooooooooooo good all week and pretty much the last 10 days, rarely went over 1500 cals a day and guess f*cking what I have gained 3lb in 10days. I am sooooooo annoyed. I really don't understand it. Grrrrrrrrrr

lilolilmanchester · 16/01/2009 15:01

I bet you are NSS. Were you weighing yourself at the same time of day? Try to keep it up, it might take another week or so for your body to burn off the fat and for the results to show on the scales?

NoShitSherlock · 16/01/2009 16:02

Yeah I have been weighing myself 1st thing in the morning with nout one
Bloody body's eh!

cariadambyth · 16/01/2009 20:16

NSS, what a pain for you. Keep it up though, it has to be doing you good. I agree with lilolil about it taking a while to burn the fat and the results to show

I've been pretty good over the last few days but am sipping wine from a HUGE glass whilst I type tonight

Hope you all have a good weekend.

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 17/01/2009 16:38

Oh boo NSS! If it's any consolation I weigh exactly the same this morning as I did last sunday, even down to the 7/8ths of an ounce!

I thought I'd been doing ok but it's such a struggle to get the weight off.

Went out last night and was offered a seat, I assume because the young bloke in question thought I was pregnant . My baby is 5 months old

I'm only a size 14, didn't realise I looked that bad but I'm clearly deluding myself!!! Didn't help that I was out with my very glamorous and attractive marathon running friend.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

lilolilmanchester · 19/01/2009 09:27

morning all. Anyone else weighing in today? I've lost 1lb, which I am pretty pleased about as I've had lots of naughty things this week. That said, although my scales aren't that old, they do seem to be a bit inconsistent. I'll start to feel happier when I can start fitting in to the mountain of size 12 trousers I've kept "just incase" , regardless of what I weigh at that point.

lilolilmanchester · 20/01/2009 16:34

everyone's gone very quiet! How are you all doing? I'm finding it ok to stick to a healthy regime until temptation is put in my way. Weekends have been particularly difficult. And can never say no when offered a glass of wine.I also need to force myself to take some exercise. I do nothing at the moment so guess anything would be an improvement

NoShitSherlock · 21/01/2009 09:44

Well done lilo on your loss thats fantastic.

Well I still haven't lost a bean and still 1lb heavier than I was on 06/01/09. So bloody annoyed. I think I have platoed (?sp) at the moment.

I have taken up running now too on a Sat and Sun so I am exercising every bloody day.

lilolilmanchester · 21/01/2009 12:11

how frustrating for you NSS. Wonder what's stopping the weight loss? Any ideas? Keep going tho, if you hadn't been watching what you eat & exercising, you would have put on a lot more than 1lb. And you are definitely going to be healthier.
I think my weight loss will slow down soon, I think the 3lbs I have lost quickly are (just some of) the 3lb I put on with my Christmas excesses.

cariadambyth · 21/01/2009 16:08

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok. Weighed today and have lost 2lbs. I am pleased as I've been quite good lately.

Don't know if anyone's tried them but there's a 3 for 2 offer on M and S 'count on us' range at the moment, they are really nice, low calorie yet you don't feel you're depriving yourself. Great for me as I'm such a rubbish cook

lilolilmanchester · 21/01/2009 16:50

well done! Thanks for the M&S tip, will take a look. I bought some caramel rice crackers from Aldi the other day, they are gorgeous. Bought some savoury ones too but I didn't like those.

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 21/01/2009 18:28

HI everyone, I'm still here but doing really badly

Was good all of last week and still put on a pound.

Consequently I've been bad this week, figure that one out!

I just cannot seem to shift weight anymore, no matter how good I am.

I'm kind of hoping that it's the b/feeding that's making me cling onto it, and that when I give up b/f in three weeks the weight will magically start falling off.

Yeah right

chancelloroftheexCHEQUERS · 21/01/2009 18:28

Sorry, meant to say well done to those who've lost.

lilolilmanchester · 21/01/2009 21:29

for you Chancellor. I'm not enough of an expert to know why you and NSS are struggling when you're being good. Why doesn't one of you start a separate thread asking the question? I am sure there are lots of other dieters out there who have been through the same and might be able to advise?

kayzr · 21/01/2009 21:36

Hi,

Sorry been awol for quite a bit. I've had a hard time breastfeeding so been pre-occupied. I've decided to give up BF as it is proving to hard to do.

So I've decided to diet properly and get on with exercising. My mum is giving me her cross trainer as she doesn't use it. Also we are getting a puppy so she will need walking at least twice a day.

And I am going to do this next year so will be doing plenty of training, hoping that will help to lose weight.

I have got 5 stone to lose.

lilolilmanchester · 21/01/2009 21:42

wow kayzr, that's some challenge and will give you something to work towards. Maybe I should set some sort of target like that but I HATE exercise. Don't mind walking, have done Snowdon, but not sure I'm up to the 3 peaks!

kayzr · 21/01/2009 21:50

I am really looking forward to it. I will be of to the moors to do plenty of hill walking.

I'm hoping to lose a stone a month so by summer I should hopefully be a size 10 again.

lilolilmanchester · 21/01/2009 21:52

kayzr, wouldn't a stone a month be too quick? Thought the ideal weight loss was 1 - 2lb a week?
