I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Hi everyone.

Not well today - have a vomiting virus and feel awful. So, planning to just have water, no way could I manage anything else at the moment!

Take care and keep up the good work.

countessofmontecristo · 07/01/2009 21:00

Sorry you not well tessieb.

On a plus note, if you're only drinking water today you will be losing weight. Small consolation I know when you're feeling so ill.

mixedmama · 07/01/2009 21:04

Sorry you're ill Tessieb. Hope you get better soon.

Not bad day here.

Breakfast was muesli and yoghurt
lunch was soup and 3 ryvitas, plum
dinner was small piece of grilled chicken, steamed veg

snacks were grapes, carrots, slice of bread and some nibbles of the kids dinner!

Well done everyone. Keep going. We'll be slender in no time

bessiebighead · 07/01/2009 22:12

Am knackered after a brilliant day with the fam, romping through freezing fields. brrrr!

Thanks for the reminder Wintersun that it should be a small slice of cake. I probably would have talked myself into it being an occasion that would never have been repeated, therefore i should celebrate big! LOL at my warped logic. You can justify anything. But thanks to your timely reminder i only ate a small slice and enjoyed it for what it was.

Sorry Rachaelsara, i don't know about Slimming World. It seems like a very specific diet. I think there is a sw thread and i'm sure they would know the answer to your question over there. Just come back, y'hear!

Well done everyone! Sounds like everyone had a good day, except for Tessieb. Get well soon and take it easy.

Bananapaddlepop, your name takes me way back to my primary school playground! Are you sure you want such a tempting name! I could just snack on you in a moment of weakness!

Morning eveyone.

Feeling good today as I have managed to rope in my sister in law and cousin to do the Race for Life in summer so now have two goals to work towards

Today:

Big breakfast of turkey rashers, egg whites, mushgrooms and two crumpets good ww points so feel full and pleased i have stuck to decent points for breakfast.

Lunch - prob ryvita, extra low fat philli, salad and low fat coleslaw

Dinner - is lasagne and garlic bread, but as long as i dont have too big a portion i think it will be fine.

Not much to snack on today at home as a shopping trip is needed but have one low fat yog lkeft and peaches in juice so that will have to do today.

Good luck all and tessieb hope u r feeling better

countessofmontecristo · 08/01/2009 09:54

Have caved in and weighed myself. Naughty me. But so far so good. It's good motivation to stay on track.
Must try and get some excercise in today. Will dig out the Excercise DVD and have a go. I'm sure I will look a very attractive bright pink sweaty mess in no time!
I just hope no one calls the house while I'm in the middle of it.

countessofmontecristo · 08/01/2009 09:55

Forgot to add Bessieb hope you're feeling better today.

countessofmontecristo · 08/01/2009 09:56

Tessieb even . I should really get my head on straight before I start posting. Ooops

tessieb · 08/01/2009 10:14

Thanks everyone - feeling a little better today. Not been sick since yesterday evening and slept loads last night. Still just sipping water as can't face food at the moment.

Countess, I do feel a lot lighter so looking on the bright side should have lost little weight!!! Oh, and I hope you manage to do your exercise DVD in privacy with no one knocking at your door!

It sounds like you are all doing really well still. I think this thread helps to keep us all going.

Bessieb - well done for just having a small slice of cake. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday.

Mixedmama - the Race for Life is a fantastic goal to work towards. Have you done it before? A friend of mine has run it quite a few times and says it's a brilliant atmosphere.

Take care. I'll let you know when I start earing again. x

mixedmama · 08/01/2009 10:22

tessie - have never done the race before. i actually have some feet problems that i was supposed to have an op for so i think the training and actual race which i would like to run rather than walk or at least jog is really going to cause me feet problems, btu just gonna do the best i can. plus i live near hampsetad heath so we are hoping to go for runs over there.

Wintersun · 08/01/2009 10:29

Well done Bessie on your small slice of cake! Its amazing how much control we can have once the diet mentality kicks in.

Mixedmama thas a brilliant goal to work towards. I've done it before and it was really enjoyable. I also used to do other 5km runs organised through work for charites.
I'm thinking of doing the Race for life this year but haven't committed yet.

Glad your feeling a bit better Tessie. You must have that sickness bug going round? Its a bad one.

Today;
muesli and yoghurt for breakfast
soup and ryvita for lunch
lentils and veg for dinner

tibni · 08/01/2009 13:01

Well I didn't have much control last night - let myself get over hungry thinking I could wait for dinner and ended up finishing off the christmas cake and then eating my dinner on top!

But today is a new day and I have been to the gym and worked out really hard - actually set a new record in my time trial run.

I'm actually feeling much better; my fitness levels seem to be returning and the binge on food last night actually wasn't enjoyable and I just felt a bit sick and bloated so lesson learnt!

Hope you are all having a good day.

tessieb · 08/01/2009 14:11

I couldn't resist getting on the scales today - lost 3lbs since Sunday, although it's probably a false reading due to sickness, and when I start eating again.....

Feeling a little better but rather fragile - just managed to eat some toast.

Tibni - you're doing well at the gym, brilliant! You are burning off those calories.

Wintersun - a very healthy meal plan for today. You are very organised planning your day's meals in advance.

bananapaddlepop · 08/01/2009 16:22

Oh I really struggle at this time of day not to snack. On here trying to distract myself from the kitchen. Is anyone else doing WW points?

bessiebighead · 08/01/2009 16:28

Been a good day today so far, and want to get through this afternoon having drunk more water.

So if I put it in writing, I've committed myself, right? Ok. I will drink 4 more mugs of water before dinner. There. That should do the trick!

Glad you're feeling a little better tessieb.

Setting records Tibni!

Well done for getting another person in on the Race for Life, Wintersun!

Countess, Tessieb and I have got surprisingly similar names! I regularly name change, so in a couple of months or sooner,it won't be so confusing!

Ok. Water.

bessiebighead · 08/01/2009 16:28

Want some water bananapaddlepop?

OP posts:
Wintersun · 08/01/2009 16:41

Tessieb I have to organise my meals otherwise I end up snacking while I think of what to eat or I'll end up eating loads of toast!

I struggle too Bananapaddlepop. I've just had a bowl of soup and a glass of water and seemed to have sent the craving away

Yes, keep drinking lots of water Bessie. It really does help to boost weight loss.

Its a struggle, isn't it? But we HAVE to keep going. Keep thinking of all those lovely spring and summer clothes you want to wear and how much more healthier and energetic you'll feel.

mixedmama · 08/01/2009 16:45

Tibni - love the "new day" mentality.. exactly how it should be. Well done ont he record.

Wintersun - I am quite scared as I have never been good at running and am quite unhealthy last time i ran for exercise purposes it wasnt even very far and I coughed for an hour afterwards plus I have arthritis in my left foot which is going to make it difficult. How far is it???

Banana - I am doing WW... altho tbh i normally dont count very well but just try to stick to good foods and smaller portions...it is the handing over the money and standing on their scales that keeps me there. My weigh in is tomorrow... so will see. I was 10 st before Xmas and I have posted here as 10.1 as I know I put some on over Xmas, but will see tomorrow.

mixedmama · 08/01/2009 16:46

I really dislike water tho forced myself today as we have no squash (sugar free of course).

bananapaddlepop · 08/01/2009 16:48

Just cleaned the oven for distraction and hunger pains subsided.Phew. I have drunk lots of water today, well 1.5 litres. How much are you all drinking and should this be more?

SilentTerror · 08/01/2009 16:49

Havn't re weighed myself yet.
Don't t hink there will be much difference, tbh.
Today-early morning cup of tea, skimmed milk
M id morning coffee with friends
Low fat cheese on toast for lunch
Apple
4 glasses water throughout morning.
Decaff coff this afternoon
2 glasses water
Tea will be chicken and veg casserole with small amt mash.
No wine tonight, but small choc bar
Have done workout at home and vigorous hoovering/mopping.

bessiebighead · 08/01/2009 18:40

Bananapaddlepop,I'm drinking 12 mugs a day, but i'm also still nursing. I may need to drink more. You're going to look great AND have a sparkling home!

Well done Silent Terror! You haven't had anything to eat in the morning - can you manage to have even something small to balance out your sugar levels? I'm not a nutritionist by any means, but it may make it easier for you?

Mixedmama, good on ya for the race! It could be worth your while to pop into a specialist runner's shop and see if they have any advice about your foot. It might spur you on,also... all those trainers... and the shoes too.

OP posts:
tessieb · 08/01/2009 19:49

Silenterror - well done - lots of exercise too!!! However, noticed you didn't eat till lunchtime. Any advice I've ever heard about losing weight and keeping up your metabolism is to always eat breakfast. There's that saying - "Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper." Sorry, lecture over.....

Bessiebighead, Mixedmama, Bananapaddlepop (I love your name!)- you're doing well with drinking water. I'm trying to drink plenty too.

Had some toast this afternoon but nothing else as it gave me stomach pains, then the runs. At least sickness seems to have stopped and I do feel a lot better than I did earlier, though very tired. Looking forward to getting back to eating normally (and of course healthily) and exercising again. As I only started this healthy eating and exercising on Sunday I just want to feel well and have the energy to carry on.

Oh, and no diet coke at all since Tuesday lunchtime when I decided to give it up!
