I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Feel for all those with ill / non sleeping kids. DS has been off nursery for two days - very peaky, just wants sleep all day - so have been tied to the house and have missed the gym . DH is going to have the kids while I go to aerobics tomorrow, though, so will be back on track hopefully.

I had a great day food wise yesterday. I've managed to keep my cravings under control for the past 3 days which is a big achievement for me. usually I get terrible sugar cravings at night that put me in a foul mood (worse than giving up smoking!). Had cereal for breakfast, eggs and wholemeal toast + fruit salad for lunch and a chicken and salad pitta bread + fruit for dinner.

Weighed myself yesterday morning, too, and am 12 stone 10 lbs (yay!). So have lost a total of 10 lbs since beginning of the month. Soooooo happy .

What is it with these little fellas? Are they taking it in turns? My one must have been reading this thread because he woke up three times and cried his little lungs out for half and hour at a time. Anyway, i've been useless today. He's asleep now, so i've had my lunch and will have a nap also until he wakes, and then will go for a nice walk and weekly shop.

Mixedmama, i'll add you on facebook - i've another psuedonym on there as meimango.

Great going MrsMattie and SilentTerror.

Argh! he's awake...

bananapaddlepop · 29/01/2009 13:24

Well done silent terror and mrs mattie - mrs mattie what is your goal weight? just wondering as we're the same weight...i'm 5ft7 and aiming for about 11st7.

Hope all the dcs feel better. I just took my dd swimming and she's passed out on the sofa, it really takes it out of them.

Going for a walk later down to the post office. I ordered a new sports bra from bravissimo and it's arrived. I totally need it!

Anyway, well done all you skinny minnies, keep it up.

xx

mixedmamameansbusiness · 29/01/2009 13:26

LisaLessLumpy · 30/01/2009 08:11

Oooooo, not sure I like this new layout

countesscaloriecounter · 30/01/2009 08:54

Well , weighed i and I'm thrilled that I've lost another 3 lbs. Using that exercise bike is definitely helping as I have had a couple of days where I haven't been as good as I could have been. I also measured my waist and since the start of the diet I have lost 4 inches!!

Well done countess [clap]

PollyGarter · 30/01/2009 14:25

Oh gosh.... i'm in a parallel universe where everything is the same... but slightly different! Funny how small things can completly throw your perception!

Mixedmama, I've had a butcher's at your pics too and say that you have beautiful, beautiful children! And your not arf bad either! And Yes, tomatoes are one of the wholly great things in life.

Ah, banana - you'll be horse riding in that one!

That's phenomenal, undervalued! Well done! More than a stone in less than a month. Very inspiring!

You must be wearing your trousers gathered now, Countess! Brilliant work!

Countingthegreyhairs · 30/01/2009 14:29

Gosh Countess, you are really trucking ...well done on weight and inch loss!!

I'm in a bit of a bad spot at the moment - have been "incarcerated" inside all week with dd who is ill poor thing and I although I've been on a couple of walks I just KNOW that I have put on weight ... feel a bit down about it and feel really bloated and frumpy and I've eaten too much because I'm bored/frustrated ....

Got to be strong over the w/e to see if I can claw some of this back before Monday's weigh in ....

Thanks for the motivation Countess and good luck everyone else!!

Countingthegreyhairs · 30/01/2009 14:31

Sorry - feel really selfish now having posted that without reading down the thread - I see that many others here have dc who are ailing ... courage everyone and hope everyone feels better soon ....

PollyGarter · 30/01/2009 14:44

Counting, Sorry to hear your household is still indoors. It's been a long week for you. Don't feel frumpy Counting. Can you put on some music that gets you going? I'm going to do that now,to get myself started again as i can feel myself slipping into a comfy position on mumsnet the sofa instead of housework...

i read somewhere recently, that it's not so much where you are that is important in life, as the direction in which you are heading. That and the "you can trust yourself" from the scottish hypnotist, are my two 'mantra's at the moment.

Keep going everyone. Each day is an opportunity to get a little closer.

Countingthegreyhairs · 30/01/2009 17:38

Thank you for the motivation Polly!

I'm going to go out for a walk after dh gets home! I get depressed after weeks like this and think "what's the point?" but then - you are quite right - it's too easy to lose sight of one's ultimate goal ....I HAVE to keep it to the forefront of my mind ...so thanks for the reminder.

Hope you have a good work-out this evening too!

Wintersun · 30/01/2009 19:56

I've had a rubbish week. Ds2 has been ill, I've had sleepless nights and pmt. My fuse has been very short this week and some days I haven't cooked so we've had a take away.

I'm not weighing in tomorrow. I'll wait for next week.

PollyGarter · 30/01/2009 20:32

Wintersun, it'll be so much easier next week. Just get some sleep and over the pmt. Hope ds2 gets better soon. I'm not weighing in on Monday either - i'm going fortnightly now - seems a bit more sensible and stops me being so number focused.

I hope you have a chance to relax this weekend.

countesscaloriecounter · 31/01/2009 09:23

Sorry for those of you having a bad time of it at the moment. Don't worry if you've had a few days ( or week)of not keeping on track. It's understandable when you have a lot to deal with. Just keep focused on your goal and when you're ready get back to it.
I've found a photo out of me when I was slim ( and young but hey, I can't have it all can I?), and I keep it by the side of my bed and whenever I get tempted I go and look at it, and vow I am going to get there!

I'm also a bit of a saddo, and have done a detailed plan of my weight loss, including targets of how much I've lost, when I can expect to reach target, etc. Sounds a bit rubbish but it really helps me stay focused. Have a great weekend everyone.

Wintersun · 31/01/2009 11:08

Thanks Polly and Countess.
Its been hard. I know the weight is coming off slowly and everyone has their bad days/weeks. I just wish I could stick to it better.

I keep reminding myself that I have lost 2 stones and can do it but its darned hard sometimes!

I am really determined to get rid of this next stone so I'll be back on track from next week!

Well done to everyone else.

bananapaddlepop · 31/01/2009 11:45

hi ladies,

this thread is a real support line, so motivating. I'm still narked I didn't lose any weight this week but I've stayed on points and done some exercise every day. And lots of positive thinking

So we leave tonight for abu dhabi (goodbye freezing temperatures ) i've done a deal in my mind that if I come back at the same weight that will be great. I'm just going to avoid eating junk and try and eat loads of fruit veg and fish etc. Plus do loads of exercise, I'm taking Davina too for any spare 30mins. Fingers crossed.

I hope everyone has a great week, I'll most likely log on at night like a saddo.

Keep it up. x

countesscaloriecounter · 31/01/2009 12:03

Have a wonderful holiday Banana.

Wintersun, you have done so well so far. You should be really proud of yourself.

PollyGarter · 31/01/2009 12:23

Not saddo at all, Countess, you've planned to succeed, and it must make choices easier in the short and long term. It's a great and motivating idea. Thanks for letting us know about it.

Wintersun, I'd forgotten that you'd lost 2 stone already. It's so inspiring. You've done yourself proud, and you're going to drop that stone soon enough - with your determination and imagination it won't be long.

Have an amazing time banana. Warmth! Wow, be sure to drink lots of water too! Have a great flight.

I've been listening a lot more to the Pmk cd and i think i'll take the plunge and follow it fully. I've been holding back, because basically he says to fill your fridge/larder with only things that make you excited about eating - but you can only eat them following the rules laid out in the book. I trust myself enough now to follow the rules- so let's see if this works. Here goes...

PollyGarter · 31/01/2009 14:13

Just did a power search on itunes and there's loads of exercise/weightloss free podcasts to download. Lots of other things to listen to also if you walk/jog with your pod/mp3.

tessieb · 31/01/2009 15:10

Hi everyone. Not posted for a few days. Had a busy time at work (as usual!) and a really rotten cold so I've been feeling sorry for myself! Not managed any exercise as not felt well. Been listening to P MK though. I've no problem with the eating what I want, it's just the eating slowly and stopping when full! Don't feel I'm achieving on the weight loss at the moment, but tomorrow is weighing day so will let you know.

Banana, enjoy your holiday. You've picked a really good time to go as we have snow and freezing weather forecast. Enjoy the sun!

Polly, do you feel PMK is working for you? Not sure it is for me.... Oh, good news - still no diet coke!!!! It's been nearly 4 weeks now.

Wintersun, I'm sure that last stone will start to go soon. You have done so well losing 2 already.

Countess, I like doing charts too showing how many pounds and inches I'm losing. (Not really working this time though!)

Will check in again tomorrow. Take care. x
