I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Oh, and apparently you can lose up to 10lbs on it . My friend said she normally loses about 6.

Hi all.

Don't beat yourself up, Wintersun. I fall off the wagon most weekends in a major way (think pizza, chocolate, copious amounts of wine, and even cheesecake this weekend...), but the fact that I am sticking to a healthy low fat diet and plenty of exercise during the week is making a diifference.

Just pick yourself up and start again!

The 3 day diet sounds a good kick-start. I did a really strict week to kick-start myself at the beginning of Jan - no caffeine, alcohol, sugar, wheat and very little fat at all. It got me motivated, and then when I relaxed it to a more realistic way of eating it felt like I was treating myself (aahhhh, coffee! ahhhh bread!).

I've been OK today. Did an exercise class this morning, and on the eating front:

Breakfast - 2 slices wholemeal toast with marmalde & tea

Lunch - plain omelette & baked beans + fat free creme fraiche with banana & kiwi

Dinner will be - grilled salmon fillet, steamed greens & baked sweet potato + 1 glass wine & a mini weight watchers rice pudding

hi all - ds a bit better tday, but did end up back at hosp sunday. Have been eatin crap and no gym, so put on a pound back to 9st 13, v pissed off.

Back to gym tmro.............

Mabs - so sorry to hear about your DS. Who cares about the diet right now, just take care of yourselves.

Wintersun I might give that kickstart diet a shot when I get back from abu dhabi. I like having ice cream on a diet

Anyway my DH is back tomorrow (thankfully!)so I will have to actually cook real food and stop eating WW meals. Weigh in on wed so fingers crossed. I've hardly done any exercise this week.

Come on everyone, chin up...healthy thoughts.

Oh dear, I've been absolutely rubbish - on and off the wagon for the last 3 weeks. However, somehow I have managed to lose three pounds (good old breastfeeding). Started a new exercise class so that's a good way to start the week. Hopefully, truly get going this week. Once I do one good week it gets much easier as I don't want to undo all the good work I've done. So here's the tally again:

no exercise this week as yet but after the weekend did stick to points yesterday.. had 3.5 pts left at the end of the day and used it all for a "special" creamy biscuit when I could have had 7 rich tea lights!!!

Started with crumpets... battery dying on laptop will post squash recipe this afternoon.

Hello to everyone - reporting in late as usual ..

still inundated with microbes in Counting household so confined to barracks but managed to lose a bit (copious puking on behalf of dd (poor thing) put me off eating for 2 days which helped alot although I wouldn't recommend it as the most pleasant of dieting strategies :

great to see the losses continuing. I haven't been on for a few days as internet connexion was being very temperamental.

Anyway, I am resisting the temptation to weigh yet as I have changed weigh in from Monday to Friday. Have been exercising loads so hope I've lost something at least.

Lisa, hope you've had some nice walks with your boys,and you're feeling better. Has ds2 broken the night waking habit?

Wintersun, i hope ds2's fever has dropped. I can't remember where, but i've read somewhere that coconut milk is actually good for diets. I remember being shocked by it because i thought it was hugely calorific. I think i have to look further into it further. Thanks for posting the 3 day diet! I hope it's keeping you on track. That vanilla icecream at the end of each day is a very nice incentive too!

Tessieb, i hope the cold goes soon. Are you enjoying the CD? I have it on my old ipod and walk in the park with the pushchair on the first listen and head back home on the second listen. Handy, as my ipod conks out at the end of the second playing. Its 50 years old in ipod years! I like the bit wear he talks about standing and walking as you would at your ideal weight - as i perk up and do a little mince...

Mixedmama, hang in there this week with ds1. I hope you can have some downtime whilst your at home also.

MrsMattie, I love the combination of foods on your diet. It looks really healthy and tasty.

MABS, I'm glad your son is getting better and hope everything gets back to normal for you and your family soon. Don't worry about a pound. You can lose it again. It's more important for you to do the best you can for yourself and your family. I know the gym will have made you feel a bit more yourself, so hope you've had some time to do that.

Countess, good on you for holding off with the weighing. i'm wondering whether i should weigh myself less often actually. The scottish hypnotist recommends no more than once a fortnight, and it kind of makes sense, as water loss and general fluctuations would be evened out a little. So i think i'll give it a try.
Brilliant on the exercising!!!

I had a nice day walking with the pushchair, through hgate woods, the zoo and regents park. I'm trying to get my metabolism up, and imagining how nice it will be when i can walk through these places in the spring without huffing and puffing. Getting there!

Not managed any decent walks as the weather has been crap, I have been on a couple of short ones though. Still not exercised this week but I actually feel lots better from this cold today, finally! I have been crap on the food front again though, not crap as in eating lots of cake, choc or takeaways but just picking between meals I don't think I am going to have much of a loss this week either.

Next week I am going to do my kick up the butt diet too. Last time I did it I lost 5lb in a week, I put two of those back on the week after once eating normally, but at least it will still 3lb down overall

Hope everyone else is well, and MABS I hope your ds is getting better x

Oh arse! I just got back from WW and I've stayed the bloody same. I admit I haven't done a load of exercise this week with having a cold and generally rubbish weather, but I have been really good with my points. Oh well, I will just have to exercise at full strength now I feel better. Literally not one treat have passed these lips.

So I'm going to have to be extra bloody good now and especially next week when we're away.

i might do that 3 day shock diet when I get back...

I'm getting my haircut today when dd is at nursery then will go for a long walk with the pooch and try and get some positive energy going.

banana - as ever at least you didnt put on... i cant go to weigh in this week as at home with DS and his chicken pox.

Have been very good today:

3 crumpets
ww soup and ryvita
pitta with 50g wafer thin chicken and tomatoes
pear
coffee and cereal bar
tuna steak and salad for dinner

Have also done my dvds TWICE today.. 60 mins first time and 30 mins second time... making up for the last few days.

Wow mixedmama you have put me to shame

I have been good food wise but no exercise again. DS1 has been poorly all day, even went to bed at 5.45 tonight, very unusual. I am fully expecting him to be sick in the night or be up at stupid o'clock, so I am going to have a very early night and hope he is ok tomorrow. They are both at nursery hopefully so I WILL do Davina tomorrow

Today:
2 nimble and flora light, 6oz grapes
apple, 1/2 pkt pom bear crisps, 1/2 slice toast
5oz chicken breast, tin of ratatouille and 1/2 pkt of Xpress Rice.

5 cups of tea with skimmed milk, 1 black coffee, 1 hot blackcurrant, 1 diet coke, 1 glass of diet tonic water. (more than I normally drink but had a cuppa everytime I wanted to stuff a biscuit down my neck

Mixedmama I am in awe! exercise dvd twice??!

I've just been to an aerobiking class.

I was going to start my amazing () 3 day diet today but didn't get to the shops yesterday as ds2 still poorly. He's been off his food but crying because he was hungry. I realised his back teeth were coming through so pureed his food. He ate it all, poor thing. I feel so bad at not having known and just getting frustrated because he wouldn't eat but kept asking for food.
Hopefully, we'll have a better night tonight.

food eaten today was

2 satsumas, yoghurt
toast
1 quorn burger
2 little fairy cakes
Another quorn burger, lentil soup, apple

Glad you're feeling a bit better Lisa; your body's probably been saying give me enough cals to get better! Well done for not snacking on the naughty stuff! Woohoo for sleeping through the nights! Fingers crossed for tonight.

That's one strange craving last night, mixedmama. It was vaguely nutritional... er... unlike my diversion today, which at best, could be described as an antioxidant . Well done on the dvd frenzy!
Would be nice to meet up for a buggy walk when you're off chickenpox duty . I must qualify this by saying i DO have nuttish tendancies being half a hippy/actor but i don't look it. Duly warned - but if you're willing - that would be great! Can you CAT me?

Sorry to hear ds2 is still poorly Wintersun. Hope his teeth come through soon. Aerobiking is the real deal! I tried a class once and was practically crawling out of the room. Good on you!

I think yesterday's walk took it's toll on me, and my trainers; i discovered had a hole in them today after a few puddles. Anyway, went for a short, squelchy stroll around the zoo in the morning. Didn't have lunch, and then paid double for it by snacking on silly high energy choc. I just can't buy it - afraid it's all or nothing with me. Feeling very tired now and looking forward to hitting the sack. G'night all and have a great day tomorrow.

Morning all.

Well we had another good night sleep last night, and in fact they are still both asleep now unheard of.

DS1 was poorly yesterday, barely ate anything, bit of a temperature and fell asleep on the sofa at 5.45 last night. I put him to bed, he slept solid till 5.30am, woke up wanted his bedtime story that he never got last night, had some medised for temperature and came downstairs to watch TV. He has fallen back asleep on the sofa and is still snoring now. Heavens knows whether he is up for nursery today, guess I will just have to see how he is when he wakes up.

DS2 was not poorly yesterday but went to bed at 7pm and is STILL asleep

So I will have to take them both to nursery late if indeed they go at all. I am loathe to wake them up as they obviously need the extra sleep. So as of this moment I don't know whether I will have chance to exercise today, but my shopping is being delivered at 11am so have all the ingredients for a super healthy week, after tonight as I'm going out for a curry with the girls

i have been a bit snacky again eating all manner of things.. i think it is because i know i am not weighing in on fri as i normally do it in workl lunch break...

going to take dc for a walk today as we need to get out and we need some milk etc and there is a market next to my house on thurs so will have a wonder.

polly - will try to cat you altho not sure how but will have a play.
