I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

countesscaloriecounter · 23/01/2009 18:20

Mabs, sorry to hear about your ds. I second whats been said. You are entitled to fall off the wagon at stressful times. Hope he's ok soon.

wheesht · 23/01/2009 18:35

It's the weekend!!

Well done on all the losses. Not weighing myself until next Thursday...

Mabs, sorry to hear about your ds. Hope he is ok x

Countess, enjoy your pizza! Let me know what you have

Laying flooring down in the dining room this weekend so should burn a few cals moving all the junk out of there.

countesscaloriecounter · 23/01/2009 19:03

Why oh why are there so many calories in pizza?

Going to watch telly cycling tonight to try and make up for it.Should be fun.

wheesht · 23/01/2009 19:07

hahahahahahahaha

Hope you enjoyed it! dh has bought me a bottle of wine...

countesscaloriecounter · 23/01/2009 19:10

Well Wheesht I hope you enjoy the wine and what will come after...........hahahahaha.

I should mention to the rest of you that Wheesht and I are old friends and there's only ever one reason her dh buys her a bottle of wine. Just think of the calories you'll burn up later Wheesht.

wheesht · 23/01/2009 19:13

Thanks mate

lol

Anyway, have to drive children around to dancing classes so unfortunately will probably be too knackered to drink (or do anything else) by the time we get back home.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I was going to add up the weight lost on this thread but I seem to be very tired in the brain department today!!
I think winersun makes a good pint about these fad diets, it is hard to keep the weight off after a good loss. I decided to do LL to 're-educate' my body and mind about food. My portions had become too large and I used food to mask all sorts of trauma I have suffered emotionally - and even put so much weight on to punish myself.
I like being able to control what I 'eat' now, so good to decide you are not going to cheat because you don't actually want to. Who'd have thought I could do that?
LL is brilliant Whyme2, but it's not for everyone and not a cheap option. I added up what I spent on food, takeaways and booze and LL is saving me a fortune!
Thanks again ladies for letting me pop in and out, I'm not rude or all about me, I'm a little bedazzled. I have read all the thread but it moves too fast!! You're a chatty lot!!

tessieb · 23/01/2009 19:30

Good evening everyone! I've had a few treats today - someone's birthday at work and I just couldn't resist the delicious chocolate fudge birthday cake. Only a small piece though! Oh, and I was so tired when I got home that I phoned for a Chinese to be delivered - first take-away for absolutely ages! I'm really slipping aren't I?

Anyway, fresh start tomorrow (again). I really don't want to put on any weight I've lost so far.

Wheesht - enjoy the wine!

Mabs - hope your DS is feeling better.

Countess - enjoy the pizza!

Take care everyone. Hope I can post tomorrow saying how healthily I've been eating and that I've done lots of exercise!!!

wheesht · 23/01/2009 19:35

Thanks tessie hehe. Speak to you tomorrow.

MABS · 23/01/2009 20:04

sorry is this brief, ds still quite poorly, take care all

SilentTerror · 23/01/2009 20:48

Have weighed myself and am now 10 st 6 from 10 10 two weeks ago.
Am pleased, thought a bit had gone!

LisaLessLumpy · 24/01/2009 08:07

I've stayed the same this week but no great surprise there, I must have had at least 2500 calories more than usual last Sat night and I have done sod all exercise all week due to this blasted cold.

So onwards and upwards, I am going to be extra good this week and aim for a 3lb loss next week which will make half a stone lost in Jan. I MUST do my exercise, my cold is getting better thankfully I'll just have to work through it

Good Luck for the coming week ladies and well done to those that have had good losses this week.

Wintersun · 24/01/2009 09:44

I've lost 1lb!
Am now 10st6, same as you Silentterror. Well done btw.

Lisa, I was thinking of doing this next week since I seem to need quite a strict regime.

GMTV Diet

We can give it a go and see how we fare. If its not your thing, don't worry. I'm not 100% certain of it myself but I know I need to do something a bit more than what I'm doing.

food today

fruit, yoghurt
ryvita, salad
meal with family

countesscaloriecounter · 24/01/2009 09:59

I will do a weigh in on Monday but have decided that Monday is a rubbish day to weigh in because although I don't go crazy with food at the weekends I do relax a bit more about food, and I do have a Roast on a Sunday. So after this Monday I will start to do a weigh in on Fridays.

BTW, burned up 500 cals on exercise bike last night so hopefully got rid of some of that pizza!

Wheesht, what, no texts to me last night? I take it the wine did its magic then. Hahaha.

countesscaloriecounter · 24/01/2009 10:00

Forgot to add: Well Done to Silentterror and Wintersun.

LisaLessLumpy · 24/01/2009 10:09

Wintersun - that sounds good actually but I just did the weekly shopping yesterday I will do it next week when I can shop accordingly

tessieb · 24/01/2009 10:44

Well done Wintersun and Silentterror!

Mabs - thinking of you and your ds. Hope he is improving. Take care. x

Countess - you are so good burning off pizza calories on your exercise bike. I had a Chinese take-away and haven't done any exercise since Tuesday.

It's my weighing day tomorrow and I don't think I'll have lost anything this week. In fact, I'll be v glad if I haven't put any back on. You ladies are all doing so well and seem to be so motivated and focussed. I seem to be slipping a little.....

Good news, though. Not a drop of diet coke has passed my lips since Tues 6th Jan (2.5 weeks!!!). Quite an achievement for me. Another change that I'm pleased about is that I've started going to a yoga class every Tuesday and also been exercising at home (occassionally) to DVDs. So, I've gone from no exercise at all to doing something 2 or 3 times a week.

bananapaddlepop · 24/01/2009 11:36

Hi All,

Mabs - I hope your DS is ok.
Countess I weigh in on Wednesdays - when my ww is anyway - and I find it much easier as you can have a few days to burn off any weekend treats.

Well done silent terror and wintersun...and lisa staying the same is better than putting on.

I'm feeling a bit better so will attempt davina again today, stupid cold. I can't wait to get to some sunshine..

Fingers crossed for a good weekend to you all..healthy thoughts.

x

mixedmamameansbusiness · 24/01/2009 14:08

My weigh in day is fridays which is the perfect day as i feel i can be a bit naughty on friday night and start again on saturday.

I lost two pounds this week which makes me 10st 11 and a half.

I had a massive inidan takeaway last night and was really greedy BUT it was friday so have started fresh today. will try to get some exercise in.

countesscaloriecounter · 24/01/2009 14:13

Yeah, the more I think about it the more it makes sense to weigh in at the end of the week.

Great news on the weight loss mixedmama. Well done.

I was wondering why each of you have decided that now is the time to lose weight.

My reason is that I will be 40 very soon. Eeeek! In fact incrediby soon! I have a 1 year old ds and can't do anything about being an older Mum but I can do something about my weight and I am not going to be picking him up from school being the fat old frump!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 24/01/2009 14:22

That is a good question and certainly spurs me on.

I went out for dinner for a friends bday and her tactful SIL basiclly just loked at me and went OMG you have put on sooooo much weight.... honestly I just wanted to run away.

Felt frumpy and ugly really and just really unhappy. That week I went to my first WW meeting and weighed in at 11st 12.5 almost 12 stone at 5 ft 2.

When she made that comment something just clicked in my head and that was in April 2008 and now i am just 11 pounds from goal.

I did write a whole longer life story and then just thought how irrelevant but notice i have still waffled.

countesscaloriecounter · 24/01/2009 15:01

Awww Mixedmama that was a mean comment from your SIL especially as you had a child in Jan 08 like me!

I was actually thinner in the Spring of last year than I am now! I think the sleepless nights and general knackeredness of having a lo just made me do zero exercise and eat lots of stodgy crap food which felt good at the time, but now I could kick myself for eating it!

countesscaloriecounter · 24/01/2009 15:02

Your friends SIL I meant.
