I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

countesscaloriecounter · 15/01/2009 13:29

Lisa and Wintersun, sorry about your Dad's. It must be very difficult for you.

Everyone seems to be doing really well with their diets, and I have just let the side down. I've just eaten a Burger King Angus Burger! .
Had about 600 calories in it so guess I'll have to starve for the rest of the day!

I'm so angry with myself. I should have walked away from it, and all its done is upset my stomach so on the loo a lot now! Sorry if TMI.

MABS · 15/01/2009 13:36

was pretty good ystdy with food, and did hard hr workout in gym, swam this am 40 lengths, only had 2 low fat yoghurts tday as not hungry. but am sure i still not losing weight!!

MrsMattie · 15/01/2009 15:20

Hey all. How's tricks?

I ruined yesterday with toast, chocolate and being a lazy mare, but weighed myself at the docs while bringing my DD for her 8 wk check and I have lost half a stone in 12 days! So delighted (!)... so I am back on track today. Went for a long walk and have eaten porridge and fruit for breakfast, grilled bacon & an egg for lunch, lots of water, and having veggie chilli for dinner tonight. Going to pilates tomorrow, and will walk to and from class (30 mins each way).

It's so dark and cold and miserable out there, but we will NOT give up...will we?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/01/2009 16:53

Mrs Mattie am in awe of the fact that you are on the weight loss after 8 weeks - took me two children and 3 years to start losing some weight

Well done

MrsMattie · 15/01/2009 16:58

Oh, don't be in awe!

I ate for two all through my first pregnancy ad gained 4 stone. Took me ages to lose it. This time I only put on 2 stone, but still feel hefty and have sworn all through my pregnancy that once the baby was born I would NOT not spend months hiding indoors in my maternity clothes eating chocolate (like last time!)

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/01/2009 18:53

That sounds very much like me... but not months years!!

tessieb · 15/01/2009 19:18

Hi everyone

Sounds like things are going well.

Lisa - hope things are moving for you now and you feel much better. Have you tried Sennakot tablets?

I didn't manage to check in yesterday as a looong day at work and I was so tired when I got home! Did well, though, managed to resist the chocolate biscuits at a meeting. (Must confess, though, today after a v healthy lunch I still felt hungry and had two of the chocolate biscuits which were left over . First chocolate for ages, and I did enjoy them!)

I didn't manage any exercise yesterday evening, will see if I can summon up the energy to do a DVD tonight - depending on what time DS settles in bed!

bessiebighead · 15/01/2009 19:36

LOL - that's what i did MrsMattie!

I've had an ok day- lots of walking and stuck to plan. But the pfb has dropped his naps. I needed them more than him! Needed more protein today as seriously flagging.

Found a [[http://www.pingpongdimsum.com/menu.php healthy dimsum place] for Chinese New Year - and there's even a vegie menu for my MIL! It looks fantastic - but £ for me at the moment - but CNY comes but once a year and it's my year of the ox.

Need to cook dinner now.
brekkie: crumpets w/lemon&pepper, yoghurt
lunch: veg soup & slice of toast
dinner: rosemary colney recipe for burgers
snacks: yoghurt, apple, pear

Will post again later if i don't fall into bed!

Thinking of you LLL and Wintersun.

Well done indeed, MrsMattie. And well done to all of us. Its really good that we're all actually taking steps to improve our health (and figures!), no matter at what stage in life we are, the important thing is that we are doing it and we're doing it now

Today I think I ate a bit more than I wanted to. The marmite on toast I made for the kids this eve just looked so scrummy and the pesto for my pasta was a really delicious one from Waitrose so....

I'm going to do my tae-bo dvd right now. Here goes.....

bananapaddlepop · 15/01/2009 20:43

Evening all,

I hope you had a better afternoon Lisa....by the way 24 is fantastic.

I feel so snacky today, I've stayed under points allowance, but am feeling like I could eat a whole block of chocolate or something. thankfully I don't have any in the cupboard.

Stay positive everyone. xxx

SilentTerror · 15/01/2009 20:46

LisaLessLumpy · 15/01/2009 20:55

Evening all.
wasn't hungry this morning just had 1/2 crumpet with low fat spread, hot choc options till 3pm then got hungry and just snacked all afternoon...
2 slices nimble bread with corned beef and brown sauce, pkt skips, 1 crumpet, 2 blocks dairy milk (55 cals each)(xmas leftovers) 1 cocktail sausage, 1 custard cream, 1/2 slice wholemeal toast and spread.
Just having a bowl of leftover sausage casserole from last night for my tea.

3 pints of squash, 3 teas, 1 coffee, 1 regular diet coke from Burger King at lunchtime, DH had a meal I resisted and had nothing .

Did my body test on the wii fit, was only going to do that but I have ended up doing 45 mins, 30 mins of step and 15 mins of the muscle workouts, glad I did now as I feel a bit perkier because of it

undervalued · 15/01/2009 20:58

Wintersun · 16/01/2009 09:29

Wow Undervalued! Thats an amazing loss!
Well done.

I did my exercise dvd last night so I'm pleased about that.
Dh bought me some Green and Blacks minitures. He knows I'm not going to eat much chocolate so thought they'd be good. Very thoughtful of him and I ate one. They are small and delicious but are still 72 cals each. Oh well, extra good to make up for the extras yesterday.

I read that to flatten your tummy, you need to do these

Crunches for flat tummy

I'm going to start doing them in front of the tv. Anyone going to join me?

food;

fruit, yoghurt
bean salad
lamb casserole

Exercise - walk with the buggy if it brightens up

mixedmamameansbusiness · 16/01/2009 09:30

undervalued.... that is great.

I am weighing in at lunch so will update.

After my really good week caved last night and had 4 roses chocs. No exercise yesterday and have come on my period so dont think I will see the results I want.

Today:

Crumpets and coffee
Lunch - undecided but maybe sushi
Dinner - left over moussaka (ww recipe)

Snacks... fruit, yoghurt and ww muffins (they are so tiny, but just enough to go with tea)

Might have take away tonight as it is weigh in day and will start fresh tomorrow as a treat but will see this evening.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 16/01/2009 09:32

This morning I agreed to do 10 sit ups every evening... not sure I can manage one so I will join you wintersun. I am going to try to go joggin at the weekend even if i only get to the end of the road.

undervalued · 16/01/2009 10:36

Thanks for the praise ladies. I do feel quite pleased with myself.
Mixedmama - good luck with the weigh in this afternoon.
I have done 20 minutes on the treadmill this morning, just to show my heart what it can do when pushed. It's quite pleased so I think I will treat my heart daily
LL not so bad, I have got used to not eating and the headaches have gone. To be honest it's a lot easier than trying to work out what I can and can't eat!!
My jeans didn't feel as tight this morning and I fished my lovely size 14 jeans out as incentive.

countesscaloriecounter · 16/01/2009 11:07

Only just caught up. Undervalued what a great weight loss. I bet you are thrilled. Well done!

Everyone else seems to be doing great too, and so positive as well. We are really going to do this ladies!!!

I am back on track today after the burger I ate yesterday .
I was fed up yesterday, but after thinking about it, I have been so good on the diet that 1 slip up isn't going to make a massive difference, and I'm as determined as ever.

I can't remember who did the link to the stomach crunch's but I have started to do those now as well, so thanks.
