I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Well done everyone, this thread is really keeping my mind on the right track. And the water drinking is totally (ahem!) keeping me regular and filling me up. Sorry TMI.

I've decided every time I get snacky (which is totally my downfall) I will do a job around the house that I have put off. So today I did a charity bag of clothes and hoovered the stairs.

My DH is away in the middle east for 3 weeks so I've stacked the freezer with WW meals, easier than faffing about cooking for one.

Roll on Wednesday and good luck everyone!

bananapaddlepop · 12/01/2009 17:02

Also I got my davina dvd today. I don't think I'm going to be able to do it most days until my DD goes to bed at 7.30pm. Will it be ok if I do it (30mins) and then eat straight after?

LisaLessLumpy · 12/01/2009 18:26

I don't see why not banana, in fact your metabolism keeps on working really well for at least an hour after exercise so it will burn more calories up off your dinner . Which dvd did you get, the new one or old one?

tessieb - I am loving the wii fit, it is great fun and you don;t feel like you are working that hard either, but the first few days of doing the exercises I really ached the day after, especially on the aerobic and muscle sections. The balance games are great fun, especially if you are competing against someone else. In feb they are also bringing out a pedometer that you wear all day and can then dowload your steps to the wii fit to keep track of so that is on my birthday list. I haven't done much of the yoga section yet but will do soon.

Bessiebighead We started the same weight and have lost the same this week we can be in competition with each other, might spur us on to be super good?

Congrats to those that have had more than 2lb losses, keep up the good work. Those that have only lost a pound... ITS STILL A POUND LIGHTER than you were last week, so it is good news. Don't be disheartened, keep up the good work and it WILL show up in a week or so.

Well I didn't manage to do Davina this morning, but I did clean the kitchen from top to bottom including hoovering and mopping and that makes me feel better knowing that it is done

Today I have had

2 slices Nimble toast and raspberry jam. A handful of grapes.

2 mini pitta breads with lettuce, cucumber and tomato with low fat mayo.

1 thorntons choc at MiL's and a banana

Dinner will be chilli but will be having veg with it rather than rice.

3 cups of tea, 1 black coffee, 2 pints of squash and a diet coke

bananapaddlepop · 12/01/2009 18:51

I got the davina 3 x 30 min work out one. I must say she looks a picture of health on the cover.
Is that the one you have Lisa? Any good?

SilentTerror · 12/01/2009 19:46

Am disappointed!
Don't seem to have lost anything at all.
Admittedly, was out to dinner twice over weekend though.
Need to up the exercise I think.
Have to say I felt better though,as if I had lost some, and noticed some clothes very slightly looser.

me23 · 12/01/2009 20:08

Thanks for all the supportive messages. I'm feeling more upbeat about it now. 1lb is still a loss. I haven't been doinf any exercise apart from walking.
I've only been doing this for a week, so lots of time to see the weight come off.

Wintersun · 12/01/2009 20:13

I feel your pain, Silentterror. I've not lost anything either even though I was good most days. Had 2 days where I had a lot of food but I thought I may lose a lb. Grr.

However, very strangely, my work trousers were much looser this morning (and have grown longer too ) and dh says I've lost weight (and he wouldn't say it if he didn't mean it) so I'm not too disappointed. Hopefully, it'll show up on the scales next week.

Don't worry, Me23. Keep at it. I'm sure you'll show a loss next week.

Today;

fruit, yoghurt
large salad with some chickpeas
1 ryvita, thin slice of cheese
Small portion of left overs of roast lamb and vegetable rice

Exercise - 30mins brisk walking.

Well done on your loose clothes SilentTerror. Very nice! I find dinner out is very difficult. Anyone got any tips?

Oh goan then Lisalesslumpy. Now, you do realise that i'm aiming for 1 lb a week - so if you're looking for something a little more spectacular to spur you on, i'm not sure i'll be much good. But happy to play!

Good housekeeping Banana! Maybe that could help all the flyladies!

Counting you're metric! My brain is too sore to understand! Well done on the 2g!

MABS my favourite class used to be the hilarious 'combat' class, where i would imagine i was a ninja or pirate depending on the instructor.

Good on ya mixedmama for walking through your lunch and getting organised for tomorrow. I can tell you mean business!

ALL I've gone back a couple of pages to help fill in the stats sheet - but my eyes have gone wierd. If i've made a mistake, or you'd prefer not to be on the stat sheet or i've plain stoopidly left you off, please make the adjustments. In future, i'll leave it to your fine selves to update your stats.

I bet undervalued feels pleaesed to only weigh a stone now!

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 20:50

Bessie - I tend to eat what I would/can cook myself when I eat out so no greasy takeouts etc. Also just make sure you have a glass of water on hand and keep supping it, The time out from eating makes you realise that perhaps your full.

Wintersun · 12/01/2009 20:50

pleased even!

Wintersun · 12/01/2009 20:52

Oh eating out - I try to have some soup or some fruit before I go out as it stops you from being starving and ordering all the carb loaded stuff you shouldn't have.
Or eating all the bread!

LisaLessLumpy · 12/01/2009 20:52

bananapaddlepop -Yes that is the one I have. Yes it is very good, I've never managed the third section it is a real killer. The second section is my favourite, fantastic for the legs, but I will warn you, your legs will really ache a day or two after the first couple of times you do it.

Bessiebighead - I am aiming for a pound a week too, I always struggle with this half a stone, I am hoping to not let it beat me this time

LisaLessLumpy · 12/01/2009 20:55

Oh and a tip, I weigh myself on a saturday morning because I am usually really good all week until Sat evening but then tend to ruin it over the weekend and am always disappointed on a monday morning. This way if I am bad over the weekend I have nearly a whole week to rectify it

tessieb · 12/01/2009 21:10

Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight this week.

Weight can really fluctuate depending on lots of different factors, eg. TOTM, what you have eaten recently (anything salty and you can retain fluid) and I'm sure there are loads of other reasons! So those who have not lost as much as expected don't be disheartened - keep going and I expect more will come off next week. All those pounds and half pounds add up. I know we all want to see rapid results (well, I do!) but medical experts always say it's better to lose weight slowly and steadily then there is more chance of keeping it off long-term.

Anyway, I did my supermarket shop today, walked past the diet coke and kept thinking 'crap and chemicals'. Managed to resist! So now it's almost a week d.c. free! I had lunch out in the supermarket cafe - jacket potato with beans and cheese and side salad (a favourite meal). I really enjoyed it, ate slowly and consciously (like Paul McKenna says) and stopped when I was full, ended up eating about half. Pleased about that as normally I would just stuff the lot down!

bessiebighead · 12/01/2009 21:23

i'll try again...

Lucky Salem WOW, very impressive loss, well done [clap]

LuckySalem · 12/01/2009 21:57

Lisa I've had a bug and didn't eat for 24 hours and only now am eating light things. It'll come back on when I eat properly again! lol

tessieb · 12/01/2009 22:01

Just done the Rosemary Conley Salsacise DVD again. Really enjoying it. Will have to look for a Salsacise class I think...

mixedmama · 13/01/2009 09:50

Morning all,

Just caught up, cant remember who said what, but congrats to everyone even those who didnt lose the weight as something must be working if your clothes are feeling better.

Had the most most fantastic day yesterday since starting in April. Meal plannign yesterday worked for me as I had 3.5 points left over... nearly had a tea and 2 bisc about 9.30, but realised that I was only doing it cos i had the points and didnt really want it. Also I have a fat and skinny pic stapled back to back on my fridge and as I was passing to get the biscuits i thought i really dont need them right now. So went to bed instead as i had been up since 4.20am with kids then work.

I even managed my exercise DVD last night, done the fab warm up which is to Eye of the Tiger so is rather a small workout. Salsa, Jive and rumba, they are about 10 mins each but the jive involves a fair bit of jumping and Lilia is sweating and finding it difficult to breathe which I find strangely comforting.

Have got my plan today as well:

Brekkie: Tortilla, one egg fried with low fat cooking spray, spicy tomato sauce and coffee.

Lunch: Undecided but I know how many points I have left as I planned tohave that for breakfast and have planned dinner.

Dinner: Soy sauce and honey chicken with two small corn cobs and salad.

I will got to toddler group with DS2 in a bit and that is about a 12 min walk each way. DH will be home today so might get in some exercise bike time.

Feeling really positive after yesterday and Bessie (i think it was bessie) i do mean business.... this is my last stone/stine and a half and i would really like to get it off well before summer, but need mega toning so need to do more than just dancing and bike.

I am so rubbish at things like sit ups and stuff though but I suspect this is what I really need.

countessofmontecristo · 13/01/2009 10:53

It's great that everyone is so upbeat and positive. It really helps me to stay on track.

tessieb · 13/01/2009 12:14

Hi everyone

Just been to yoga. I still found some of the stretches hard, but I feel really good for going. I actually feel a bit slimmer today. My jeans feel a little looser around the waist. I'm sure I'll achieve my first goal which is to lose half a stone by the end of this month - in fact, I definately will!

I just keep thinking about how I'll look wearing size 10 clothes!!!
