I've been lookinf around for the big day and you lot are a motivated bunch aren't you!

I'm not going on a frenzy before 2009, but know I won't make commitment beforehand.

Is there anyone else waiting for the new year?

If so, what method are you thinking of using?

Hello All!

Well my 1st week on SW and 3 pounds gone! Don't feel any different yet, but I'm always full and if I get peckish, I can eat some more. I'm enjoying unlimited fruit and veg. I've just started looking after a friends 5 month old ds, which is a major change! My youngest dd is nearly 6, so I've got achey arms from carrying him round! Though I have to say, I'm loving having a baby to cuddle, then give him back at the end of the day, I guess it's like being a Grandma!

My eldest dd broke her arm last June. When she had the x-ray there was a cyst which had caused the weakness, which is why it broke. It's a long story, but it's benign, which is the main thing. She had a follow up x-ray today and the consultant looked at the new x-ray and told her to avoid dangerous sports like trampolining. Then he read her old notes where another consultant said it would be OK for her to ride and surf (which she has) then he changed his mind and said it WAS OK. Now I don't know what to believe. She's due to ride on Tuesday, but I don't know if she should. Argh.

I'm sorry, this is about healthy eating, not health, I'm just venting. You're all Mums after all!

Summerfruit · 10/01/2009 11:23

Hi everyboday !

Had a bad day yesterday...didnt eat a lot but what I ate was crap and I had some wine too...

Stress always affect my eating !

Be strong this week end !!

bessiebighead · 10/01/2009 11:55

Ambi - hope you had a fantastic birthday!

And mixedmama - have a lovely birthday weekend with ds2! Well done for getting back to your pre-festive self!

Wintersun, at least when you snack, you make really good choices! It's always possible, that your body happens to need the things that you've been craving, seeing as they have high nutritional value. Today will be different for you.

Tessieb - I don't know if i'll be returning to it after a couple of years, i'd like to, but the logistics of theatre are a little difficult with tours/odd hours. But i'll probably move into something related. The mvm site is great!

Don't worry bananapaddlepop. Maybe one day i'll set the clown on you!

Undervalued- LL sounds like it's doing the world of good already. You've reclaimed your body!

Countessofmontecristo - Well done on the cravings front! Happy walking!

Rachaelsara - Well done on the loss! And you're getting some nice biceps there with the lo. Are you looking after the baby on a regular basis? I wouldn't know what to do on all that advice either. How is your dd feeling about it?

Summerfruit - Can you do something for your stress today? Long walk? Relaxing bath? Sounds like a bit of pampering may be in order!

I'm off to dimsum tomorrow - but will only eat the steamed vegetable sorties! mmmmmmm! Off to see a new mum, dad and their newborn today - very excited! So will bring something nutritious for them to eat for dinner.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi everyone. Couldn't resist an early weigh-in today, and I've lost 4lbs since Sunday!!!! (OK - this isn't through healthy eating, it's through being unable to eat much at all.)

Well done for losing 3lbs (properly) in the first week of healthy eating RachaelSara. That's a really good start. You must be worried about your DD1. It's a hard decision, especially when you have been told different things. However, it's a shame to stop her doing things she enjoys, and exercise will help her to be fit and strong, and maybe help strengthen her bones. You could always ask the hospital for another opinion, or talk to your GP about your concerns.

Summerfruit and Wintersun - sorry to hear yesterday wasn't too good for you both, but every day is a fresh start. Hope it's a good weekend for you both and you can report a few pounds gone on Monday.

Mixedmama - enjoy your son's birthday this weekend (and savour those small pieces of cake!) Have you decided if you are going to give up the diet coke?

Countess - glad things worked out for you yesterday. You do have good will-power!

Bessieb - must admit a slight craving for the diet coke this morning, but there isn't any in the house, so, your lovely crazy clown doesn't need to call round!

Take care everyone and have a lovely day. x

Wintersun · 10/01/2009 12:39

Well, so far so good today.

I've had peaches, yoghurt and 1/2 a mini croissant for breakfast today and have been to the gym (where's my halo? )

Lunch will be a bowl of Covent garden bean soup. Dh is cooking dinner today. I'm not sure what it is but I think it invloves lamb. I'll just have a bit and add lots of steamed veg.
I'm feeling much more positive today. Thanks for all your support!

Sorry I haven't got time to do personals as I need to go out (going to visit a friend so will have to resist munchies!).

Have a good day today and eat well

countessofmontecristo · 10/01/2009 13:20

Hello All

Pedometer is a load of pants. Went for a really long walk, checked the pedometer after and it said I'd done about a 3rd of a mile and burnt up 15 calories, so that stupid thing is going to end up in the bin!
We had a lovely walk anyway. I had a poached egg and a slice of grilled bacon on dry toast this mornng, so a bit of a treat but haven't gone totally overboard with it. But, hey its the weekend, and you have to have a few treats don't you. I am finding the food focus site really useful. Its great being able to keep track of what you eat, and see a date when you can reach your goal weight if you keep it up.

Tessieb Wow. 4lbs that's fantastic.

RachaelSara 3lb is excellent. I bet you're well chuffed

Summerfruit/Wintersun Don't beat yourselves up over one dodgy day. It's only a day and today's a fresh start.

Mixedmama Have a great weekend and eat the cake the Paul McKenna way, savouring every single mouthful.

Hello to everyone else and sorry if I missed you out. You all should know I am rubbish at personals!

Hi there, I'm a late joiner only just found this thread hope that;s ok. I joined WW last monday. I'm 5'2 and 12st 2! SO I would like to lose at least 3 stone. I put on all the weight after the birth of dd shes 3 1/2 now so it's time I did something about it!

bananapaddlepop · 10/01/2009 21:16

Oh hi everyone, and welcome me. I've just joined this week and also back doing ww so we can point together!

Well done tessie and rachaels, excellent loss and it should keep you really motivated.

Good luck everyone else - I'm hopeless at personal notes, but am sending everyone skinny and healthy thoughts.

I've been really good today, well under my points total. My DH even came home with WW bread this morning, bless him. He's away for 2 weeks from tomorrow so dieting should be easy with no temptation for booze or chocolate.

My weigh in is Wednesday, so can't wait till then.

mixedmama · 10/01/2009 21:21

Well done on the losses ladies.

Tessie - havent decided 100% on the diet coke yet but dedfinitely going to try and cut back on it.

Thanks for all the enjoy the birthday messages ? Ils was today and my lot tomorrow. Am knackered.
Rachelsara ? brilliant with the weight loss. Sorry to here about your DD arm, I would definitely seek another opinion.

It's my first proper weigh-in today and I'm really pleased with a 3lb loss and I've also lost 1" off my waist! (I had lost a little more the other day but that was due to my vomiting virus, eating properly now.) I'm also very proud of the fact I've not had a drop of diet coke since last Tuesday.

Welcome to everyone who has just joined us. Me23 - there do seem to be a lot of us around 5'2 on this thread!

Bessie - enjoy your Dimsum (and keep that will-power going too!).

I think it would be interesting to know everyone's target weight. I'm aiming for 9st as my goal weight. My first goal is to reach 11st 5 by the end of January which is a half stone loss.

LuckySalem · 11/01/2009 13:22

Right ok weight goal. I'm 15st 3 (5ft 4) and I want to weigh less than 14st by June as thats what I always used to weigh but by April 2010 (my wedding ) I want to weigh 10st. - just worried about the flaps of skin that are going to be left behind.

countessofmontecristo · 11/01/2009 14:00

Lucky, I'm sure you'll reach your goal. If you do some excercise as well as diet then you shouldn't be left with flaps of skin. I hope that's the case anyway as I want rid of my saggy post CS tummy!

Having a roast today for tea, so have been ultra good so far so that I can enjoy it.

This is the first time in ages that I feel really positive and motivated to lose weight. My last few attempts were very half hearted and it feels good to be having some control over it. I hope the scales show some good tomorrow!

LuckySalem · 11/01/2009 14:02

Countess - Thanks for that. Its my saggy csection belly and I'm worried about my boobs too they're currently about a 38G adn I'm worried that if the weight goes then the fat in my boobs will go too and I'll end up with saggy bunny ears which makes me not want to lose weight (a thought with DP doesnt understand)

countessofmontecristo · 11/01/2009 14:02

I notice that you've measured yourself as well Tessieb and noticed a decrease already ( well done). I measured myself at the start too. Are the rest of you doing that, or just weighing?

countessofmontecristo · 11/01/2009 14:05

Lucky Yeah, my boobs are pretty huge at the moment and its a worry, but to be honest they've never been the same since I breast fed. I think they went south for the summer and they aint coming back!

LisaLessLumpy · 11/01/2009 14:54

Hi there, could I join all you lovely ladies please? it seems like a very motivated and chatty group and I need that

I started last week on the 3rd Jan and I was 11st 9lb. I had my first weigh in yesterday and I have lost 2lb this week I need to keep it up though. I am attending a wedding on 11th April and would like to be back in my 10 tones by then.

It will be a struggle as I always find it difficult to drop below 11 stone. Last year on Jan 1st I was 13 stone 1 lb after giving birth in Oct 07. I managed to get down to 11 stone by October 08 but then I was ill for two weeks so stopped my exercise and then never got back on track. By the start of Dec I was back up to 11st 4lb and since Xmas and drinking far too much and eating too much crap I had gone back up to 11st 9lb. Very annoyed at myself I now know it will be another long struggle to get this half a stone off again

I need a topic I can come to every day and to chat to people in the same boat, that won't peter out after a week like all the others I have joined

This looks to be it so far

countessofmontecristo · 11/01/2009 15:07

Hello Lisalesslumpy. What a great name!

Yes, this is a great place. I nearly fell off the wagon the other day but was supported through my temptations by the lovely people here,so I'm sure you'll find it very helpful.

MABS · 11/01/2009 15:53

can i join too please? am 9stone 13 and need motivation and support ! have done 6 gym classes in last week and eaten well, but not lost at all

undervalued · 11/01/2009 15:54

Excellent first week then!! It is nice to see all the support given on here. I wish I was on more often TBH to share it, but thanks for letting me dip in and out.
The trick to changing your eating habits apparently is to not think that you are not allowed particular foods - more that you choose not to eat them. I will let you know how that works...
Three days into LL and I feel quite good. The bloaty feeling I have had for months has gone, but has been replaced with a bad headache and bad breath! Usual side effects I believe.
On the up side, I have spent 15 minutes exercising today and have not cheated at all. Very hard as DH is doing the Atkins - bacon smells lovely in the morning!! It looks like I have already lost 6 lbs too!!
I will be weighed tomorrow as a one off but usual weigh in will be Thursdays.
Luckysalem - I have always had trouble getting under 12 st (well, for about 10 years) so I know the frustrations. Good luck to you, in fact good luck to all of you for the big weigh in - although I think most have already weighed themselves already

countessofmontecristo · 11/01/2009 15:59

Hello MABS
6 gym classes. Phew, that makes me feel exhausted just reading that!

Undervalued. 6lbs is amazing. Well done you!
