Thanks emotional - inspection has gone tits up already and it's only Monday. One of the kids trashed a 5 grand touch screen computer (ICT is one of the main focuses ) and then another smashed a window on one of the minibuses so it's off the road. Oh well at least they're getting to see the kids in all their destruction glory

On the plus size was down 3 lbs at tonights weigh in (only 3lb away from 4 stone now)

Hope everyone has a good week. Sure mine will get better (can't be much left in the school to trash )

emotionalwreck · 16/03/2009 21:01

Woooo Hoooooo! Well done littleMM! How many weeks has that taken you? Its my group night tomorrow night.....

LittleMonkeysMummy · 17/03/2009 17:49

I started at the end of October so I have been on it for a wee while now.

Good luck tonight

emotionalwreck · 17/03/2009 20:36

Just got back from group and I can ecstatically report I've lost 5lb this week, which brings my total to 20lbs

I've decided to start some gentle exercise so did 35 minutes on Wii Fit this morning!

LittleMM how is the inspection going? Any more catastrophies?

LittleMonkeysMummy · 18/03/2009 11:28

Well done emotional!

Thankfully I'm only PT so I'm not in again until next week although the fire alarm did get set off 4 times yesterday and the classroom got trashed by one of the kids! Ah well at least they have seen the kids in all their glory

emotionalwreck · 19/03/2009 19:52

LittleMM - you must have the patience of a saint..

Well, its my biggest challenge yet tomorrow - my 36th birthday on LL. I have been so determined not to crumble and lapse, but as the day gets closer, I can feel a big lapse coming on.

Hows everyone else? Its gone very quiet again...

LittleMonkeysMummy · 20/03/2009 08:46

Ha!! Not sure about the patience of a saint (DH is more likely to say I'm nuts - and I must admit I usually tend to agree with him )

Happy Birthday Emotional!! It was my 30th about 2 weeks after I started LL so I know what you mean. I'm sure you'll be fine. The most important thing to remember is that if you do lapse it's only one day and it's important not to swel n it because it then ends up a whole weeks lapse (been there, done that and have LOADS of t-shirts to say so )

Anyway have a fab day - make sure you get spoil rotten!!

emotionalwreck · 23/03/2009 19:02

Birthday went okay - no lapses, phew!

But...

WHERE IS EVERYONE????!!!

undervalued · 23/03/2009 19:28

DH has been away and I lost the plot in terms of LL. Feel fat and horrid. Help me get back on the wagon please

I have lost nothing for the last two weeks - except the will to carry on [the diet, not living ]

undervalued · 23/03/2009 19:31

well done emotional No lapses on your birthday is a major achievemnt x
LMM I teach in a 'challenging' school too - never a dull moment!! Best of luck with the fallout x

LittleMonkeysMummy · 23/03/2009 19:55

Well done emotional. Hope you had a fab day

Undervalued - don't give up. I know it all seems like crap and it's disheartening when it goes pear shaped but it is sooooo worth it. After all what is a couple of bad weeks in the grand scheme of things? Just think long term - easier said than done I know. Put it behind you - after all you can't change what has already happened.

On the plus side HMI were very happy with what they saw so it looks like it'll be a good report. Roll on the Easter hols now!!

undervalued · 25/03/2009 18:09

Am back on track - being very good indeed! So far this week I have lost 6lbs (4 of which I piled on over the weekend)
Thankyou LMM your comments helped a lot. I'm glad HMI were happy. I have a very bad feeling that we will be seeing them soon; without your outcome. The Head refuses to challenge or acknowledge poor behaviour and feels that statistics and AFL will make our school succeed. sadly not.
How did you get on emotional? Have you lost a fair bit this week?

LittleMonkeysMummy · 25/03/2009 18:59

That's fab undervalued!

I have to say that all the HMI and CC (joint inspection) were lovely - couldn't have been nicer. Where about do you teach? I teach in a residential school for 5-18 year old with severe learning difficulties (most are severely autistic).

I think it certainly opened the eyes of some of the inspectors who openly said that our school was a one off so they couldn't really compare us to anywhere else - sure they still tried . A far cry from their previous week inspecting Fettes apparently .

It's amazing how some bosses bury their heads in the sand! Don't stress about it though as they're not really inspecting the teachers so much now what with the new format - most of it is focused on the senior management team (ie the Head!!)

undervalued · 25/03/2009 19:10

When I started at this school they were already in Special Measures - have been out for a couple of years now. I teach in an inner-city secondary school, a rough one.
God, I hope you're right, our senior management team need looking at!!
I congratulate you again, it must be a huge relief

emotionalwreck · 28/03/2009 08:46

undervalued keep going - you know its soooooo worth it. Not been on here too much this week as youngest one has had some sort of wierd illness that coincided with her first tooth (finally at 9 months), and I had about 5 hours sleep over a 3 day period

Lost another 4lb this week which is 22lbs in 4 weeks. Had also lost 3 inches off my bosom, 3 inches of my waist and 1 and 1/2 off my hips. People are finally noticing now which is great!

lunavix · 30/03/2009 21:23

emotionalwreck - wow!!! That's an amazing loss.

I'm trying to decide what to do now, I gave up LL just before christmas as I couldn't make any of the meetings, I recently started CD but I -really- don't get on with the shakes. Bah!

At a stalemate...

On the otherhand I have left over from both that I was thinking of selling cheaply if anyone is interested?

alibubbles · 30/03/2009 22:22

lunavix, I'd be interested in the LL, I've tried CD, but have seen several colleagues lose shed loads on LL. I'd just like to try it and see what happens, and whether I like it or not. [email protected]

lunavix · 01/04/2009 07:47

Posting out today ali

Still got cambridge bits if anyones interested!!

alibubbles · 01/04/2009 07:52

Thx.

easterchickfordinner · 08/04/2009 22:32

Hello

Was thinking about looking into Lighter Life as a friend is on it and having great success and really I could look to losing 7 stone easily.

I have started to exercise more and trying to cut down on excess food and portions.

I have 2 questions.

  1. I've heard it costs £66 per week - ok so I only can work one day a week and don'e get paid enough to cover that a week. Does anyone else have a problem with the cost and is there anyway round this?
  1. How do people get on with feeding the rest of their family. I have to cook for 5 others each evening and 2 DC for breakfast and lunch.

Thank you, I really want to lose the weight but it's finding the money from somewhere I think is the big problem. We don't do take outs, don't buy crisps, biscuits for the kids but the rest is organic fruit and veg and healthy meat/fish.

Sorry it's long. TIA

easterchickfordinner · 08/04/2009 22:34

OH thought of another question. What do you do when you go on Holiday?

gingernutlover · 09/04/2009 07:45

hi

if 66 a week is too much for you then consider cambridge (I am not a cambridge rep, I am just someone who has lost a lot of wieght using it)

cambridge is basically the same diet but you dont get the intense counselling that you get with LL

cambridge is about 38 a week for ladies under 5,8 and nearer 50 if you are taller as you have more shakes/soups.

We stopped when we went on holiday but I know other people who have just taken their packs with them and gone onto a slightly higher plan so that they can eat one meal a day (meat/fish and veg/salad only though if you want to stay in ketosis)

easterchickfordinner · 09/04/2009 09:24

Thank you I'll look at the Cambridge Diet, I'd really like the boost of getting the weight off so that I know it is possible and work on keeping it off in the future.

Thanks
