I've been on it a year, lost 10 stones and have 2 to go...

OP posts:
hsanders · 24/11/2008 09:58

Looks like we're all back on it today so let's all have a fab week.

Good luck everyone.

hsanders · 25/11/2008 10:31

So how are all the LL and CD ladies feeling today?

And how's the headaches and food cravings going?

How about the weight loss? Are you like me and always get on the scales every day for the first 2 weeks? If so, how's it going?

My DH has lost 3.5 lbs overnight so he's rather chuffed with himself (but did feel rubbish yesterday) and I've also lost 3 lbs so am really pleased too. I hope to lose a stone in the next 2 weeks so I'll be 14 stone for the first time in ages. I started at 15 st 1lb yesterday and was 14 st 12 lbs today. If I do it until end of April, then I will defo lose the weight for good this time. Perhaps I'll be 13 st by Christmas - woo hoo!!

hi all

i am hoping for a stone in 2 weeks to... fingers crossed...

does any one have the porridge?

hsanders · 25/11/2008 22:43

Perfect - a stone in 2 weeks at the beginning is achieveable so good luck and keep going.

I've got one of the porridge sachets but not had it yet so perhaps will have first thing tomorrow.

LMMIAS - you home from your vacation? Hope you had a fab time.

H x

cheekysealion · 26/11/2008 05:05

i made the porridge last night but think i added to much water as cdc said hers came out stodgy so she then addded more water to make it a bit runny... mine came out like water!!!

it says on the pack to add hot water then microwave but not sure if it means boiling water? some one also told me to add tiny ammount of toffee and walnut powder to make it really tasty

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 26/11/2008 13:56

Hi everyone

Had a fab holiday in Skye - LL did go a wee bit out the window though!! Must admit that I did try to watch what I ate. Still managed to lose 1/2lb (amazed at that!!)

Anyway, back on the straight and narrow and milkshakes galore!!

Hope everyone's week is going well.

(and es, I am getting into the festive spirit early!!)

spongebrainbigpants · 27/11/2008 21:54

Hi guys, can I join you?

I lost 6 stone with LL 3 years ago. 2 m/cs and one successful pg later and I was back to square one . I have now lost just over two stone but am really struggling. Could do with somewhere to check in regularly to keep me going!

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 28/11/2008 12:02

Welcome Sponge!! I'm in a similar situation to you! I had problems TTC and had a MC before losing over 4 stone on LL last year (and by some sheer miracle now have a 9m DD)

I too went back to square one but have lost 1 1/2 stone since rejoining LL. How old is your DC?

I find this group super (polish those halos girls!!)

Good luck!!

spongebrainbigpants · 28/11/2008 13:46

Hi LittleMonkeysMummy, and thanks for the welcome. Your DD is gorgeous btw. My son is 5 1/2 mths old - photos on profile if you want to see!

Look forward to getting to know you all .

katycake · 29/11/2008 09:02

Hello,
new on cambridge and just found this site which is a big relief, have been feeling a bit isolated! Good to feel I'm not alone on this , some days you just need a bit of support and my friends don't really know what I am doing... have said I'm on strict diet and left it at that. How did other people tell their friends, or am I the only one to feel a little weird about telling others? (hmm)

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 29/11/2008 10:23

Hi Katycake

I must admit I was quite blunt and first time round told my friends and family what I was doing and most of them were fine with it. Have decided this time not to tell MIL who just gives me lectures about how I'm losing weight to quickly, must be bad for you, blah, blah, blah.... As LL needs doctors checks I just told people I was doing it through and on the advice of my doc and they were fine with it. Does feel a bit weird though especially on a night out!!

Sponge - your DS id soooo cute ( must admit the broody gene is kicking in lately better not tell DH )

H - How are you? Hope your DS is well and everything is improving!

How's everyone else doing?

spongebrainbigpants · 29/11/2008 13:04

LittleMonkeysMummy, thank you, he is a bit of a cutie isn't he?!

Have to say I am also desperate for another one/two/three hence the diet! I need IVF to conceive and my consultant has advised me that it would be much better for me and chances of pg if my BMI was 25 or under.

katy, very difficult knowing what to say to friends - first time around I got so many negative reactions but tbh at lot of it is just jealousy!

This time I'm not being totally abstinent every day so haven't told everyone I'm doing it!

PictureThis · 29/11/2008 14:17

Hi all,

I've restarted LL today, not the classes, just using the foodpacks that I didn't use last time. I plan to use them for the next 4 weeks. I lost 3 stone last year on it (but did need to lose more) and have put 2 of them back on.
We are going on holiday in the new year so I would like to be able to get into my holiday clothes.
So as I said I started it today and I've had 2 chocolate shakes so far, in fact most of my packs seem to be chocolate shakes, I don't much like any of the others. Amazing how quickly thoughts of food creep into your head isn't it? Have been out for a walk with DD in the buggy (exercise and diversion therapy )and now I'm filling myself up on water and peppermint tea.

I'm not going to broadcast being on this diet this time, I can't be doing with the negative reactions either. Hopefully this time next week I will be at least 7lbs lighter.

hsanders · 30/11/2008 23:13

Hi everyone,

Right now there's a few of us here I feel ready to combat those demons eating away at me, telling me to eat, eat, eat!

So been on it one week (again) but fell apart this weekend, but now will start properly with CD and running for the Half Bath Marathon in March. Will update weight and all the stones I am losing ASAP!

LLMIAXS - thanks for your message - and DS doing sort of okay. Docs still not confirmed relapse or not at this point but DS doing okay-ish. Looks like his sight in his right eye is definitely going now which is much quicker than antipicated a it was thought that if he would go blind in that one eye as a result of the radiotherapy, then it would take years. But hey ho! He's alive and kicking, and so we'll relish every day with him......but one of the keys things is I get slimmer, healthier and fitter in order to enjoy each day with his.

Good luck every one and glad there's a few of us now, grouped together, and all pulling in the same direction.

Let's have a fabulous week ladies.

Love H x

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 01/12/2008 20:05

Hi everyone and welcome Picture!!

Just back from my class and am down 5 1/2 lbs this week - yippee!!! Only 1 1/2 lb and that's 2 stone!

Zoe started Nursery today - she was fine...I left in tears . In fact the only tears from her were when I went to pick her up

H - am sorry to hear that you have no definate answers about your DS. Makes you appreciate every little moment! Enjoy Disneyland and I LOVE the new photos on your blog

HAve a good week everyone X

hsanders · 01/12/2008 22:00

LMMetc etc - nice one girl! Nearly 2 stone is awesome and you've not been doing it long, so you're a real source of inspiration to me, and no doubt the other ladies here too. Well done. I am really proud of you. Glad you like the new pics of our DS. Just in case you're wondering, our 3 year old DS has just finished treatment for an aggressive form of cancer and I've been writing a blog about the whole 'adventure' and so catch up with his story at
leosteam.blogspot.com

Right, back to our lovely weight loss; my morning weigh-in was 15 stone so will be a lot less than that by next Monday for sure.

How's everyone else doing?

H x

dalek · 03/12/2008 13:08

Picturethis - I am in the same situation as you - lost 3 stone in early 2007 in time for 40th birthday but have now regained 2 stone and today had to buy size 16 dress for DH's christmas do - last June I was wearing sizes 10 and 12!

At the moment cannot muster up the willpower to go back to abstience but am very worried about what I might gain over Xmas.

Good Luck everyone

x

dalek · 03/12/2008 13:09

abstinence

lunavix · 03/12/2008 15:46

hello everyone

went to my first proper weigh in last night and have lost 7.2lb in 10 days. Quite chuffed as I haven't stuck to it strictly

hsanders · 06/12/2008 00:33

Lunavix - awesome or what! Over half a stone in just 10 days. Keep going as you're obviously doing something right.

I've lost 6 pounds since restarting on Monday so down to 14.12 now (but have had a dodgy tummy for some reason so feeling quite peaky!) and certainly need to keep going if I am going to be under 9 stone for my next birthday at the end of April.

How is everyone else doing? HOrrid time of year to be abstaining from food, but just think how good we'll all feel this time next year when we're off buying lovely little dresses, and not having to shop in the shops for the larger lady - cannot wait for next year's slimmer Christmas get-togethers!

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 06/12/2008 19:41

Hi everyone. Hope you are all doing well. Have had a bit of a blip this week! Dh is now away offshore and what with all the crap weather - ah well...what's one day in the grand scheme of things

H - was reading your blog and congratulations on the good news!! So glad to hear that you DS is doing well.

HAve a fab weekend everyone x

hsanders · 06/12/2008 23:28

LMMAXF (you keep confusing me with your lovely name changes but love you're so current!) - no worries about your blip because you know you can just get back on the horse, and ride 'em cowboy!

Thanks for keping up with the blog - yes, who'd have thought we be pleased our DS has cataracts eh? Beats cancer relapse any day!!

So keep going and let's have a fab week.

H x

wheredidmyoldlifego · 08/12/2008 00:59

Hello ladies - hope everyone's had a good weekend. I am no longer hsanders but wheredidmyoldlifego as it works on way too many levels!!!

Here's to a good week...

LittleMonkeysMummysAXmasFairy · 09/12/2008 14:22

Hi everyone! Weigh in went well last night - down 2 and a half lbs - that makes 2 st 1lb in 7 weeks!! Hooray!!

Celebrated by going clothes shopping today when Zoe was at nursery. She's settled in fine there which is fab! No tears - except from me

Having lots of sleepless nights - all her teeth have decided to come through at once but at least we'll have toothy grins in the Christmas photos

H - like the new name. Also like (?) the photos of the GRIM challenge - your cousin is a braver person than me!! When is it you're off to Disneyland?

Hope everyone else is having a good week!

wheredidmyoldlifego · 10/12/2008 18:09

LMM - congrats on your weight loss - that's awesome and hope it keeps going in the right direction over the holiday period.

We're off to Disney on Monday until Friday and Leo is soooooo excited about seeing Buxx Lightyear and Mickey Mouse!

You've inspired me enough to actually join a Lighter Life class in January instead of doing the Cambridge Diet at home. I thnk I'd do better with the support of the group.
