Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Been good the last two days, I nearly fell at the hurdle of bacon butties for lunch but DH talked me into salad instead, phew! Am just trying hard not to think how many calories are in that vanilla cake because we are definitely having some on Saturday

alittlebitshy · 07/07/2009 19:45

I was even good on the meet up. Had fruit and fibe for brekkie. At the museum i had a panini and salad (albeit not the healthiest panini - the new york deli on - yum) but I had no cake etc and had a banana with my afternoon tea.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 07/07/2009 21:04

Well done ladies. albs I hope you are feeling better.
hotter well done on resisting bacon, I like it, but I always go out of the way when dh cooks it, but more because it makes me/hair smell of it afterwards.
sazzles sorry you forgot to book the creche, hope you managed to get there in the end.

I have been very good still, in fact probably the best I have ever been, I know it is still early day's though.I am enjoying thinking of healthier alternatives and I have noticed I feel less sluggish too. I had my first slice of bread today since I started, didn't think I would cope without it, but have not really craved it tbh.
dh is off this week so we have been in the gym together which is good motivation(as can be a bit boring in there on my own) once dcs in bed.
I feel really awake tonight, despite lack of sleep these days.
I managed a good varied workout, then 30 min on the pole after that. I'm back to swinging on it ladies
pictures up soon
I am rambling again.

WOW Sazzles that is amazing.

I will (fingers crossed) be back here next week I have strangely lost some weigh but not sure how much.

alittlebitshy · 08/07/2009 10:36

yay sazzles!!!!!

am hungry but am finding that I am not as obsessed by the idea of snacking on crap. The first week was tough, but it is getting easier.

Glad to hear it is getting a littl easier albs sazzles that is great swim time, well done.

I am still doing well, but period arrived with a vengeance this morning and I feel so bloated, drained and sluggish.
It is my weigh day tomorow, but although I have been very strict with myself I will be disappointed if I have not lost anything.
I actualy didn't eat diner today, I don't agree with skipping meals and don't do it, but I arranged to meet a second cousin who I have not seen/don't remember as was very young. Met her and my sister in a cofee shop. What suprised me more was that I saw all the cakes and wasn't the slightest bit interested.(believe me they are famous for the variety) Just had 3 cups of tea while we chatted.
Was lovely to catch up but sadly sounds as though she may have cancer she will find out Tuesday. She has to have a hysterectomy(sp?)
She has a growth the size of a 16 week baby and they unsure what it is.

Sorry for doom and gloom.

cyteen · 09/07/2009 22:44

Hi girls,

So much good work going on. I have been appalling with my eating habits of late, cake cake and more cake, BUT have been to my first bikram yoga class tonight and I love it. So maybe I'll do better on Hot Mamas pt 2

See you there...

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 06:36

Sorry to hear about your cousin No1, I hope it's something benign after all Hope your period not too awful, mine arrived yesterday and has decided to be really heavy.

Cyteen ooh that sounds a bit hippified Get thee back here again if you are feeling a bit porky as under the ironrod amazing example of Sazzles we are all doing well. Except VG who has buggered off

Shit, gonna miss my train, you'll have to wait for later to hear my weigh-in

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 08:04

looks like I really am talking to myself today!

ALBS glad to hear the thinking about snacking all the time is receeding I am on a pretty strict no snack diet from Sunday teatime until 8.55pm on Friday (wine o'clock ) but pretty much eat what I want all weekend including booze, crisps, cake, sausages eggs and buttery toast for Sunday brekker etc etc. For me I think it works well - I can say no during the week because it's not long until I can say yes . In fact I have asmall one of Dizzy's vanilla Cakes in the kitchen waiting to be slathered in jam and cream cheese icing in time to celebrate my mum's birthday when she comes to see us tomorrow

So I have whittered on again when I should be working when what I came on to say is:

3 more pounds off!!!!!! only 2 more pounds and I'll have lost a stone at the sazzles school of slimming And I've gone down a bra size

Come on ladies we can do this!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS Sazzles hope you're enjoying your hols and eating some cheese but not too much!

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 09:43

Just checked back and it has taken me 7 weeks to lose 12lb, so slow and steady but if I keep it up I might even be 11-stone something by the time I go on holiday in September so that will be my next target once i've lost the next 2.0001 lb and am 12-stone something

cyteen · 10/07/2009 10:04

Well done hotter, that's great news

Bikram yoga is actually a less lentil-weaverish branch of the practice - it's a fast paced 90 minute class in sauna-type conditions, so v good for calorie burning. More info here

alittlebitshy · 10/07/2009 10:31

I seem to be somewhere just around 11 and a half stone so i have lost up to half a stone in 2 weeks. I didn't note exactly where i was when i started but somewhere just over 12 (am only 5ft2 btw). My ultimate aim is 9lb9ish....

hungry. argh.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 10/07/2009 13:39

Well done hotter that is fantastic.
I think slow weight loss is the best way.
It is better for you, and apparently easier to keep off that way.
(the cake sounds yummy btw)
albs well done to you also, I am also aiming for around 9 and a half. Bit optomistic, but if I carry on I WILL do it. Aiming for 10st for now.

So... weighed in at 10st 3 and a quarter
On wards on upwards, or should I say onwards and downwards. iykwim.

cyteen I am off to look at that site now, sounds very interesting as I tried yoga, but it is very slow. I do pilates, which is similar I suppose, and even though it is a great workout, because it is slow I feel like I am not doing anything.

cyteen · 10/07/2009 19:16

Yes, slow weight loss is apparently the right way to go about it.

no1 I know what you mean, I gave up on pilates after one session because it didn't feel like I was doing anything and so I didn't know if I was doing it right/getting the benefits. You will feel the bikram if you try it, though. It certainly gets your heart thumping, while being low impact enough that my back and aching knees can take it.

Back feels so much better today Looking forward to doing another class this weekend.
