Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

TS

Doing well, and have finally got round to having a look at that food focus site. It's fab, although was shocked when I weighed the actual amount of cereal I am having and it's double the normal portion . One large simple bowl of rice crispies was over 350 calories but I suppose if it keeps me going till lunchtime and I can still keep within my allowance then that's fine.

Just need to find some more fibrous foods to eat...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/07/2009 22:00

Doing really well I think I seriously can not believe that the tummy rumblings and allinthemind cravings have stopped already [shock.] I realise I may be speaking too soon here.

I can't believe that half a grapefruit can see me till lunch either. How is that????????
Seeing as I eat this around 7/8 ish. I would have had couple fo rounds of toast between this and lunch, but I am ok without it.
Very strange.
I am trying to squeeze some pilates in and around the dcs. Either before they wake or while they nap. When I was doing them yesterday morning in the lounge dd kept glaring at me and then started throwing stuff. strange child.
I then tried to get her to do some bits with me. I had to lol at her trying to do the 'superman'
I am doing the race for life on sunday, looking forward to that without children .
I am waffling on now

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/07/2009 22:02

I should add that although I say I am doing well, weighing myself will tell.
Do you do friday or sunday.
I am lucky that the scales are kept in our gym (garage) so I can never be bothered to go get them everytime I feel like jumping on.

VintageGardenia · 02/07/2009 22:17

Tis great when rumblings stop.

TS thank you for your praise heapings! Let's hope we still deserve em come Friday OH NO that's tomorrow!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/07/2009 22:24

Do you weigh first thing, before breakfast?

hotterpotter · 02/07/2009 22:38

Of course! Don't want to weigh the breakfast too . Get up, have a wee (v important), get weighed. Realise this may be a little tricky for you if you have to go to the garage. Can you get to it from the house or will you have to nip outside? Careful if you're a nudey weigher

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/07/2009 22:42

Will leave a note for dh to fetch scales in in the morning. Will have to be nudey weigher as did that when weighed myself last.

hotterpotter · 03/07/2009 06:37

Well after a week of being good I am...still the same I think that actually the new scales do weigh a bit heavier , in one place on the wonky floor I managed to weigh 3lb lighter with the old scales. The new ones do seem more reliable though so will stick with them and anticipate a lower reading next week I must say, even if the weight is coming off slowly, I can actually feel my ribs a lot more under my matronly bosom.

Hope you all get fab results this morning.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/07/2009 08:51

hotter glad you are happy to 'feel' different. That is the most important thing to me, not what the scales say. I have just weighed in t 10lb 5 and half. Not sure about that as I don't feel lighter.
Moaning dcs already, back later.

alittlebitshy · 03/07/2009 10:45

Am going to weigh on Monday. I am still having the hunbger pains. ugh. But it is becomign a bit more natural not to nibble.... we'll see though.

Glad you feel different hotter and good luck with the weigh in no1.

I presume my brekkie cereal is a bigger portion than stated but I figure i need it, esp as I am getting hungry as it is. been on the sultana bran but had some fruit and fibre today. yummmmmmy.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/07/2009 08:03

I got a few hunger pangs last night for first time. About 9ish. I have not being eating after about 6 at the latest.
The water was not cutting this time so went for a bowl of special k with dishwater skimmed milk.
Was very satisfied and went to bed.

I am now having to share my half grapefruit with ds as he is no longer satisfied with what he has for breakfast

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/07/2009 17:24

Had a lapse today, been to a summer fair at the school where dd will be going.I bought a slice of fruit cake, which I was about to tuck in and enjoy, when my fil sneaked up and grabbed half.
Oh well I suppose that was best. Still doing well on the breasd front, it is making me thin of other things for lunch other than sandwich, and because of that I have had no crisps for 5 days. Ladies this is a big deal to me.
I am currently having a huuuuge sald with some steamed chicken, and had meditteranean veg and couscous for lunch which was left over from last night.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/07/2009 17:27

obviously that is meant to say 'making me think' See I have thin on the brain already.

hotterpotter · 04/07/2009 20:54

You're doing really well No1, and half a slice of fruit cake isn't going to do you any harm

I am using the food focus site, am very pleased with what is shows Monday -Friday, but today... I had cereal and toast for brekker, and pizza & chips for tea. That plus the anticipated wine and crisps which will be coming in a minute, means I am 700 calories over my maintenance calorie level for today Thank feck for exercise - I traipsed to the supermarket this morning then spent a couple of hours tidying up in the garden this afternoon, so that's knocked 500 off and I will only be 200 over. Apparently that equates to a weight gain of 30g - think I can live with that Will be back on the straight and narrow after breakfast tomorrow.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 04/07/2009 21:11

you gotta have a treat.

After my hellish bed time routine I could do with a drink but don't have any in anyway.

Well done ladies!
I remember last time i was doing this when dh and i were away with the yoof from church - a camping diet is not a very compatible one with a dieting diet.

We had takeaway o firday. I have decided i need to do things like this els eI will crack and go back to my old ways.

Yesterday we had bil, sil anddnieve and dnephew for lunch. we did a salmon salad with olive bread (breadmaker om nom nom). In the eve i felt really sick. i a ham salad sarnie with some sald o the side.

Today for lunch (guests again) we did a chciken in th slow cooker, boiled new potatoes and salad. still feleing sick i i barely ate half.

I had about 1/4 of a danish at church (ready chopped - not me being crazy) and 2 little baclava thingys; and a small slice of birthday cake at the party dd went to but i think that if i don;t lead a "normal" life round healthy eating and no snacking i'll go crazy and lose motivation and become obsessive!!!!

hotterpotter · 06/07/2009 07:56

ALBS you are doing great, don't worry about one take-away or a few bits of pastry . It sounds like you were eating loads of biscuits/cake/chocolate/crisps before you decided to shape up, so I'm sure cutting most of the bad stuff will have an effect, just not quite so quickly as Sazzles' amazing transformation. Have you got weighed this morning? Any progress?

Well done Sazzles you are really doing an amazing job 12 stone something will be pretty impressive. Once I have broken that barrier (3 more weeks I reckon), my next target will be DH's weight. In 15 years he has always weighed loads less than me, as although he is very tall he is also much thinner, well he was but he's put a few pounds on over the last 5 years so he's deffo catchable now

VG* you never showed up for weigh-in Hope all is ok.

I know I shouldn't but I got weighed again today and I am up 1lb on Friday although actually that's not too bad considering the lard I shovelled in I reckon it's one third excessive eating, one third premenstrual water retention and one third new muscles from gardening . Roll on Friday...

alittlebitshy · 06/07/2009 19:25

i think i may have lost more weight that i thought. have not weighed today (felt really rough so dh let me lie in till 11 ; did the school run and had ds this morn(tis his day off). However i weighed on fri i think and was under 12st - so at least 2lb had come off. Plus my size 16 trews and really really baggy - i can pull this partic pair down way below my hips, poss off, without being undone....

Considering joining the gym! that is a big thing for me as i never do proper exercise. there is one at the swimming pool, so if i joined on a casuyal basis (ie pay by session) i could do 30 mins while dd has her swimming lesson. 30 mins isn;t much but it is a start and a lot more than zero mins.
