Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Sazzles I could lose 3 stone and still be only at my optimum for body mass or whatever you call it. I just think 2 stone is more likely!

I feel amazing when I'm lighter and also much less likely to overeat. When I'm heavier I think Oh sod it and have another 5 Jaffa cakes.

Hooray, thanks TS you are an inspiration as ever!!

Currently 10 stone and 4lb and have the most horrendous 'muffin top' belly action going on, so:

Short-term:

  1. Lose 14lb
  2. Eat regularly and healthily but not cutting out treats altogether (otherwise I'll just crave them more!)
  3. Do wii-fit every day or walk for 30 mins every day
  4. As soon as ds2's colic has gone - get back to hockey training and playing (I'm hoping this will be in the next fortnight).

Long-term:
Maintenance

I'm in I don't weigh myself so my goals will be necessarily vague - basically I just want to get fit and toned. Am currently around a size 12 (5'3" height) and will be happy to stay a toned size 12 OR go back down to a size 10.

How I plan to achieve it:

swimming once a week
lots of walking (I can't drive yet so this is a must anyway!)
running once a week when my fitness levels are back up a bit
power pramming with a friend

I've got a place in a 10k run next June, which I'll be doing to raise money for my brother's charity, so that gives me something to work towards. Really looking forward to getting started, roll on my 6 week check (in 3 weeks' time)!

cyteen · 24/09/2008 10:51

Oh, I'm also planning to have a lot of vigorous sex once things are back to normal Best exercise ever!

ataraxis · 24/09/2008 11:00

oooh... I like Cyteen's last suggestion best!

Darling H has gone out to get me a Wii Fit package today. Guess that means that after years of not having scales in the house I will have to start being real.

Once I find out how much I weigh, will come back with a target weight too (generally around 10st 4) - and ways to TONE UP!!!

sazz if it makes you feel better I'm on about a 5 stone weight loss thing, will tell you def after next Tues when am weighed at diabetes clinic

am all in for the support etc at the moment ladies BUT (and this is terribly irresponsible of me I admit) if I'm about to find out am type 2 diabetic next week I'd like to spend this week eating in ignorant bliss and being a glutton - shall step off this healthy thread till then

if I'm NOT then health plan starts in ernest anyway, I just think there will be a difference depending on results - does that make sense or is it my usual gibbering shite?

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2008 12:22

Dizzy, you just go right ahead and indulge. Most on here are in a holding pattern right now waiting for clearance.

ataraxis I bought one for me dh's birthday yesterday too

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/09/2008 13:07

well just had healthy lunch, wholewheat pasta with tuna, tomato and cucmber.
Natural yoghurt and fresh chopped fruit with blob of honey, tbh that was more like a tea than a lunch.
But was very hungry today.
hoping it fills me up so I stay clear of the crisp cupboard, that is my one weakness.

Going to check out some recipes with lentils as I have bought some for the first time ever.....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/09/2008 13:16

Oh and my new nursing bras, have just arrived, two hot milk, the cherry bomb, as I heard some of you were pleased with it, and a pretty pink lacey one.

I risked working my size out online and on another thread, at 34f, as shops got me as 38dd, 36c etc...

They fit perfect and feel lovely.
So much nicer than the plain boring ones I had.

CaptainCaveman · 24/09/2008 16:29

When I move about, most of me stops moving the second I stop walking BUT my midriff wobbles about quite alarmingly- what is that all about? I am scared of my stomach and its many rolls...

on the plus side, have walked for 30 mins today (down to baby clinic and home via the pub!).

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 24/09/2008 16:49

lol cc

cyteen · 24/09/2008 17:17

TwilightSurfer · 24/09/2008 18:29
