essbee, just concentrate on keeping your weight stable for now, you've had a lot to deal with. As the weather gets warmer, it should feel a bit easier to lose weight if you feel you want to .

WideWebWitch · 23/03/2005 19:00

Can I just post what I've eaten today? (for me rather than anyone else)

1 piece toast, olive spread, marmite
1 pear
1 apple
1 sesame snap
1 portion lentil hotpot (lentils, tomatoes, garlic, onion, veg stock, carrots, small amt olive oil that it was cooked in)
a few large strawberries
a medium bunch of grapes with a small amount of grated goat's cheese
2 baby sweetcorn
We're having a poussin with marinade from Fat Girl Slim tonight and baby sweetcorn
I am also going to have a couple of glasses of wine and maybe 100 cal of chocolate

so not bad I don't think. I've walked quite a bit today too.

WideWebWitch · 23/03/2005 19:01

Agree with Puff essbee, don't worry about it for now. I'm SURE I weigh more than you if it helps!

PuffTheMagicDragon · 23/03/2005 19:38

mmm, the poussin sounds good www.

champs · 30/03/2005 01:44

Oooh, hi Champs. I was terrible over easter, probably put on another half stone and won't have lost anything. I was eating chocolate and chicken WITH SKIN and was also back on the wine. So I started again yesterday:

1 piece toast
1 sesame snap
some lentil hot pot (homemade, just lentils and veg)
an apple
5 fishfingers
50g smoked salmon
a mouthful of chicken (it really was) from a carcass in the fridge
a sliver of Feta cheese
small bunch of grapes
and NO booze. I will weigh after af. Thanks for listening!

champs · 30/03/2005 14:28

www -- I have had some sneaky choc too dont even like the stuff anymore as it had been so long that I gave it up. But this pg I have such a sweet tooth and have craved choc soooo much grrrrr. right I am going to name and shame myself here each time I eat it. only way I'll stop I refuse to eat emty calories and add to my bulk when i dont even like what I'm eating. And the blooming stuff gives me horrid headache, I woke up the other day and felt like I had a hangover! Was a choc hangover am sure.
I am gonna buy some more of the sugar free boots sweeties that taste like worthers. may keep choc craving at bay and also help me teeth.

Is it easy to cook lentils? I say a soup recipe and am thinking of trying some.

BTW, I've just seen your post about pre pg trousers... well done!

OP posts:
Keane · 30/03/2005 14:39

gosh i have been useless. i am about 13st 4lb and have stayed the sameish for about a month. really need to get back to it

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2005 19:13

Champs, ooh, I forgot you're pregnant. Yes, lentils are easy, there's a recipe for hotpot if you want it, search on my name and lentils! Pre preg trews were good but I wasn't skinny then, sadly. Keane, at least you haven't put anything on, that's something. Today

1 piece toast, olive spread, marmite
1 sesame snap )165 cals)
lentil hotpot
1 pack soya bites (115 cals)
1 apple
1 pear
50g smoked salmon
5 fishfingers
bowl of peas
and I will have 2 glasses of wine tonight.

and I played football in the park this afternoon with ds and his friend, not for long though so I doubt many calories burned. I've just skimmed over this thread and there are loads of posts from me saying 'oh I was awful, I had chocolate, chicken, blah blah.' No bloody wonder I prob haven't lost any weight! It's a good wake up call.

champs · 31/03/2005 14:53

keane, agree with www, you haven't put on which is good, why not start afresh.

www, I found some choc mint sugar free sweeties. they have kept me from the dreaded choc!
are the soya bites the peanut substitute thingies? I saw them in boots and weanted to try them, are they nice? are they crunchie?

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 31/03/2005 22:48

Hi Champs, no, they're like crips but made from soya and rice flour, they're lovely and 115 cal/pack. I drank loads of wine last night and ate loads of chocolate. And today I was quite good but then went to Pizza Express for supper with assorted children and ate a pizza and garlic bread AND drank wine. Oh well, I walked a lot.

champs · 02/04/2005 10:17

count it as treat night www, you are doing so well with your food going by your food diaries.
ahh crisps, wonder what the peanutty things are called then!

Hi Guys and a special hello to Champs.

Where have I been in relationship hell but am slowly starting to get my head together. I have of course put on tons of weight having been doing so well but am going to sort myself out and not let myself go to the dogs. It is not fair to me or my kids.

If I am only here sometimes it is just that I am overwhelmed with stuff worry not though I am a fighter and will be back.

Champs hun how are you doing? What is going on with you and how are the babes?

champs · 11/04/2005 12:21

hi glitter!!
so lovely to hear from you. sorry to hear things are not so good for you. but as you say you are a fighter. hope you feel better soon. dont worry about weight right now. get all things sorted first then you can really tackle weight with a clear head.

babes are well, got another on the way! so i have had to put diet on hold for a while, still eating healthily but obv. not loosing weight although hope that healthy eating will mean i dont put on too much.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 11/04/2005 22:23

It's been veeery quiet on here!

Glitterfairy - sorry you've been having a rough time - as far as the weight is concerned, maybe concentrate on stabilising/staying the same until your brain feels ready to tackle losing weight again.

Despite staying at a relative's house for 2 weeks with all manner of temptations (strictly food related ), I've managed to lose 2lbs. The only reason why is because I took my scales with me and kept an eye on my weight. Last time I went there I put on half a stone, so phew!

Anyway, what's happened to everyone? Come out, come out, wherever you are!

moonshine · 11/04/2005 23:11

Hello all - my computer has been broken for weeks but am now back to bother you all!

Puff - I see you are still losing so well done.

Glitterfairy - sorry don't know about your situation (or if I'm meant to??) but sorry that you have been going through a rough patch and hope it sorts itself out for you.

This whole losing weight thing has been going very badly for me. I know I probably have lots of food 'issues', as well as zero willpower, so I did go see the Lighterlife counsellor and started last Saturday! I am on day 8 and in my first week lost 9.5 pounds (sounds impressive but I did eat for England and put on loads the 2 weeks before I knew I was starting). Have got to say am finding it easier than other methods I have tried but who knows, maybe I'll be chewing the sofa this time next week....where is everyone then??

champs · 12/04/2005 00:06

hi all!!
Puff-- was very quiet, kept checking back, thought i'd killed it with all my whining. well done on weight loss!!

Moonshine -- hi (not sure who you are) glad you got pc fixed. 9.5 pounds!!! well done brill work....

Hello,

haven't posted on mn for an absolute age, but was wondering if I could maybe come out of retirement to join this thread.
After doing nothing about my weight for, well, ever, I have now decided to try to set a better example for my dd (11 mo).
Doing SW and it's been going better than I expected, but now seem to be in a lull. Lost approx 2 stone since Jan, with about the same again to go to my target and everything's grinding to a halt.
I have lots more to ramble on about (things that do/don't work for me, reasons why I want/don't want to slim down, etc, etc) but not much time atm.
So, if you can bear to listen to my navel gazing, I'd appreciate it!!

Ox

champs · 12/04/2005 14:11

hi OxyMoron, and welcome!! well done on your lose so far, keep it up.

Welcome OM

bran · 13/04/2005 16:03

I love the thought of naval grazing Champs - wouldn't you have to be very flexible to do that?

I haven't been on here for ages, and even worse I haven't been to WW for about 6 weeks. See the birth announcements thread for my reason why. However I have been weighing myself a couple of times a week and I seem to have stayed the same weight more or less, which is fine for the time being. Hopefully with summer coming I'll be out and about pushing the buggy and that'll kick start the weightloss again.

I'm sorry to hear about your relationship hell Glitter , I did wonder how you were as I hadn't seen you on Mumsnet for a while. I hope the situation starts to stabilise/improves soon.

Hi everyone else and welcome to the newbies. Fresh blood is just what we need to get everyone's enthusiasm up again. Hopefully I'll be a regular back on this thread very soon, but if I'm not around for a bit it's just because I'm run off my feet or exhausted. Once I get a routine going I will definitely go back to WW and get started on losing the 5 stone I have left to go.

OxyMoron · 13/04/2005 16:31

Thanks for the welcomes.

Navel grazing, , well fortunately I'm a yoga girlie, so I could probably manage that.

Now, sorry, but I haven't read all this thread in detail, but I was wondering if any of you had a similar conflict to me, where although you have reasons for wanting to lose poundage (for me primarily I want to be healthy and a good role model for my dd, and want to encourage better habits in her than those I grew up with), I also have reasons for wanting to stay the same (I guess this is because I hate getting attention and worry that a change in appearance will attract attention from people. Don't know why that's such an issue for me, but it is.)
I'm needing motivation top up at the moment, but don;t really know what to do about it. Going back to work hasn't helped as there's something about work that directly correlates to chocolate cravings!

cheers,

Ox

glitterfairy · 13/04/2005 16:51

Oh OM I totally empathise with that one! For me it is all about getting attention but then I know I hate being a wallflower as well and I cant hae it both ways. It is almost as though I feel unattractive fat so that is somehow better.

Thanks guys for all your support things are better since we went for counselling and I am hoping that one day in the next year we sort something more permanent out. the thing is to not go mad in the meantime and take it all out on myself by eating enough for a small army!

Champs how is champsinutero? Bran congratulations!
