We are all good Champs and getting ready for the hols off to the south of France in two weeks hurrah! Have pre ordered Harry Potter to be awaiting us at the ariport like a good mum. Am going to try and keep up the diet whilst away.

Puff · 08/07/2005 10:02

You are doing really well gf .

I came back from hols last week and had only put on 3 lbs, which I was OK about as I'd hit my target of losing 6 before I went.

Unfortunately, I cannot stop eating at the moment - have done something unpleasant to my leg and been referred for physio. In the meantime, given strong painkillers and diazepam to relax the muscles. For some reason, when I take the diazepam I get ravenous and am eating anything I can lay my hands on !!!

champs · 12/07/2005 14:52

have fun glitterfairy!! apparantly a lovely place to go, not been there but is on holiday wishlist. dont be so strict that you dont enjoy yourself tho hun.

puff -- hope the leg gets better soon! surely all that pain means a small diet break, or at least a few treats.

Puff · 13/07/2005 21:04

Don't ask me how, but I seem to have lost 3lbs this week - hurrah!

champs · 14/07/2005 16:07

any tips for keeping going during the horrid hormonal times?

I'm been going up and down through the same few pounds for mounths, losing a few pounds duing the happy weeks and putting them ( and sometimes a bit more) back on during the 'sod it' weeks.

I am really trying to break this pattern. I've managed to shift most of the gained lbs over last 2.5 weeks, now my hormones have dropped the challenge is that much tougher.

any ideas how to get through without gaining, or even better with a loss?

  1. don't snack instead of eating meals, it only leads to all day snack attacks. make proper big healthy meals, and if still feel snacky in the evening, have sensible nibbles ( oatcake + protein, fruit + yog etc) that won't start up blood sugar roller coaster, and the snacking cycle.

  2. keep away from choc, sugar and white processed carbs. one is never enough.

3.take it one day at a time. and one wobbly day doesn't mean it's ruined, just start over afresh the next morning.

erm can't think of any more now !

champs · 24/07/2005 22:20

hi katya!!
know those days well! hmmm tips,
choose healthy options.
supplement a banana or a low cal hot choc drink instead of choc.
If you really fancy something go for a snack size.
have an icey sugr free drink.
make up some sugar- free jelly using a can of diet lemonade instead of the cold water.....

moonshine · 24/07/2005 22:29

Oh no, haven't been here for ages, have I?

How are you Champs - you must nearly be in the 'due' zone now? Of course you are putting on weight, my dear - you have something growing rapidly in you which needs nuturing . Plenty of time to worry about diets soon, I'm sure.

Katya - I have also been there a thousand times myself so don't know if I am the best person to give advice but one month I remember doing quite well because I promised myself I would be strict but only for a bit and set a deadline. Also agree with snack-size treats or change to small bits of 'proper' dark choccy (Green and Blacks) for a 'hit' or those Option drinks. Or make sure you have to walk further to buy any treats to burn more calories? Or have a 'partner' (good friend or similar) whom you can phone or text when you are getting those bad urges?

How is everyone else?

Puff - bad leg but still losing - good on you!

I am now 5 stones 10lbs down with less than 2 stones to go now! Tummy is still a stubborn mass of wobbly fat-jelly, sigh....

champs · 24/07/2005 23:16

moonshine, ty for the talking to!! of course the little baba needs feeding, think mama has been indulging a little too!!

cannot believe your amazing loss!! well done!!! as for the tummy, sounds like you may have to do the dreaded sit ups for that.

Hi all - just checking in to say I've lost half a stone since last posting, not through virtuous dieting, but I've had flu and hence no appetite.

Not the conventional way to lose weight, but can't deny that now I feel better, I'm rather pleased about it !

champs · 03/08/2005 17:10

evershrinking as ever!

OP posts:
puff · 26/08/2005 09:54

Just adding congratulations to you champs on this thread .

I've lost 2 lbs this weeks. On hols or a week for tomorrow, must try to be reasonably good!!!!!

moonshine · 26/08/2005 10:19

Another revived thread I like - I've also posted on other thread Champs but always worth saying again - congratulations!

Still doing well Puff - well done. Are all your limbs ok now??

I'm now 6 stones 10lbs down as of last Saturday. Weigh-in for me tomorrow and hope to be less than 10lbs from target (although tbh I keep moving the goalposts so who knows. When is enough enough is what I'm asking myself atm).

How's everyone else out there then?

puff · 26/08/2005 10:39

ooh, well done moonshine!!!!!!!!

champs · 29/08/2005 01:41

HIya Champs darling and everyone. Glad to know you are ok. I have been doing well in the dieting stakes but not coming on here much as Dh and I have decided to split up and am in the middle of home crisis and feeling terrible. Diet slipping but am trying to hold it together.

ANyway sorry for the depressing post but thought I would let you know why I have been away.

champs · 30/08/2005 00:26

so sorry glitter. will CAT you. xxx

OP posts:
puff · 05/09/2005 11:40

glitter - sorry you are having such a rough time .

I've braved the scales after a weeks hol in Spain. Have put on 5lbs - could be worse I suppose. Must knuckle down and shift it. I've joined a health club which I'm hoping will help me get the last 2 or 3 stone off, plus tone up mega flabby bits!!!!!!!!!

moonshine · 05/09/2005 16:06

Glitterfairy - I'm really sorry you're having such a bad time atm.

Champs - how is life with new baby - any easier after 2 (I found going 1 to 2 hell!).

Puff - hope you had a good hols anyway - 5lbs in the great scheme of things is nowt .

Yes I too need to do some serious serious toning. I have tried but am not very disciplined atm. As of last Saturday had lost 7 stones 2 lbs, which leaves me with 8lbs to go to target (sneaky boast but have been wearing size 10 skirts for the first time. Ever. My top half and tum/bum have not been so compliant...

puff · 05/09/2005 20:22

moonshine - size 10!!!!!!!!!

WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

champs · 07/09/2005 17:01

puff -- wb! sounds like you had a good hol and hey, you'll lose the holiday weight in no time, you always do.

moonshine that's brill!! i am too, oh to be a size 10. well done.
