I want to be a size 12 by Chrimbo

And then eventually an 8.

But I need motivating.

I have been farting about on a diet for the last 3 weeks, but I keep cheating. Keep me on the straight and narrow, and in return, I can offer swift kicks up the harris for all of you what need it

Ok, interim target for me.

Dh is home on 29th Aug, I aim to be 10st7 (thus 7lbs, ain't maths useful?)

Have been good today

Greek yoghurt w/rasps for breakfast
Salad, hummous, bit of cheese for lunch and pack of prawn cocktail crisps

an apple and some cherries

chicken stir fry with noodles later

Slouchy · 27/07/2008 16:41

Oh no, what happened to my strike-through?
Now you all know

SheikYerbouti · 27/07/2008 16:45

Actually, that's a bloody good challenge for us all isn't it?

Right then, we ALL have to lose 7lbs by the end of August. That is v easy to do.

Come on in Cappy, don't be shy now.

lolololol at "self basting"

I'm hoping my wii fit is deliuvered tomorrow. Is it good stormy?

OP posts:
Slouchy · 27/07/2008 16:57

We have a wii fit, it's better than merely exercising your thumb on remote control or five fingers mnetting, but I'm sorry to say it won't give you buns of steel. More like buns of marmite.

Great fun though!

YeoValleyGirl · 27/07/2008 17:20

Can I join? Baby coming up on 6 months now and although he's still bfing I have little excuse to keep gorging on chocolate.

5'4 - 11st 11 at the moment . Size 14. Feel like a total lardarse. Want to get below 10st but 7lb by end of August sounds manageable, just about.

Have just eaten big salad of spinach, tomato, beetroot and feta. And an orange. Unfortunately it was a Terrys chocolate one

RBH · 27/07/2008 18:15

7lbs by end of August sounds good. Agree about being fat sucking in this weather!

PootyApplewater · 27/07/2008 18:20

Have been playing in the paddling pool with the children this afternoon.

Thankfully our garden isn't overlooked - I'm sure I must have infringed some byelaw or other!

Drinking lots of water.

Just about to make hot roast beef sandwiches for dinner, but had a sensible lunch.

Banana sat waiting seductively in the fruit bowl as my evening snack.

jofeb04 · 27/07/2008 19:31

Not the best day today!

Had a BBQ, so loads of meat and stuff! Did have strawberries though (and ice-cream!).

7lbs by end of Aug? I'll attempt that.

I'm not going to weigh myself though, going to go off my clothes instead.

Muscle weighs more than fat - well, that's my excuse anyway!

righto chaps. Not having best start to week as am locked out of the farking office. Cafe Nerro opens now and I really want a big pastry. However, I am holding on to the fact that I can have some yummy water when the MD finally shows his face.

Good luck all for today. No slacking, drink some water and Sheik Yerbouti!

Jahan · 28/07/2008 09:30

Can I join please?

I'd like to lose 1.5 stones. I've lost 20lbs since Jan but the thread I was posting on has withered away and I've gained 4lbs in the last 2 weeks. Grrrr.

My mat leaves end at the end of Sept so need to be able to get into some work clothes by then!

I'm up for your August challenge

TigerFeet · 28/07/2008 10:01

Well somewhat shockingly my appetite seems to have taken a dive with all this warm weather... but then last night the the ice cream van came round.. and the rest, as they say, is history. It is fabulous ice cream though - not yer standard Mr Whippy but locally produced proper ice cream that's all soft and yummy. [happy sigh]

I reckon that if I'm good all week I can have a small ice cream on a Sunday evening, can't I?? {TF wonders why she is a size 22)

LisaLessLumpy · 28/07/2008 10:10

Can I join too please

I was on the same topic as Jahan. I have lost 26lb since Jan 1st but still want to lose at least another 10lb. This hot weather is mucking me about a bit though, perhaps it is the same as you Jahan? I am showing 4lb heavier this morning (normal weigh in day for me is wednesday) than I did last week and I know I haven't eaten enough to warrant even a pound of it, I think it is water retention because of the heat. Lots of water for me today to try and flush my system out a bit

Fanella · 28/07/2008 10:12

Oh for a miniscule Bouti (and hips, and boobs and the rest)

I'm in..

I've lost nearly 2 and half stone since the beginning of the year and need to lose the same amount again.

I eat well in the week and then it all goes to pot at the weekend (booze, takeaways, big sunday dinner). So then I fight to make it all up in the week, then undo it all again at the weekend.

I definitely need some serious arse kicking.

Cappuccino · 28/07/2008 11:48

so here I am, tipping the scales at 10st 8 and unable to go running because I am still recovering from the last gasps of ME

yoga is not calorie burning but it is good for me

walking is better and is good for me

sitting watching repeats of Smallville all day in bed whilst eating Wagon Wheels is not calorie burning

these are lessons to be learned

dillinger · 28/07/2008 12:10

Right Im 5'3" and currently weigh 10st 5lbs, size 14. Dd is now 17 weeks old so I should be going for lots of walks but can be hard with ds 2.6 - he refuses to go on his buggy board (which makes it awkward to push buggy anyway as Im such a shortarse) which means we trail along at a snails pace when I could do with getting a stank on. In this hot weather I just want to hide away inside too

Was meaning to get up early and go for a run (prob more of a shuffle) - woke up at 6 and promptly rolled over and went back to sleep.

Maybe tomorrow.

Ideally Id like to be an 8-10 which I think would be best for my height, Ive always stayed around a 12 which Ive never been happy with. I have a cross trainer I just need to get my fat arse on it

TigerFeet · 28/07/2008 12:19

You are on the mend then Capp? That's good to hear

I can't run either - knackered back and sciatic pain in my left leg. Also I would probably end up with bruised eyes as even the most supportive sports bra struggles with my heaving bosom. If I could just shift a few stones pounds all the aches and pains would just disappear wouldn't they? Probably. At the moment I am knackered after anything more strenuous than a 10 minute brisk walk and it can take me a day or so to recover... I am seriously unfit

LisaLessLumpy · 28/07/2008 12:31

dillinger - I am 5ft 3 too and have the same problem with going for walks, ds1 is 3 and ds2 is nearly 10 months, ds1 won't stay on his buggy board either and going for a walk means at a snails pace whilst he picks up everything in sight, hardly seems worth the effort going out for exercise purposes. I do go on my cross trainer though, just need to do it a bit more often, tend to manage 2-3 times a week but need to do 4-5.

I can't believe at your weight you are a size 14 though because I am nearly a stone heavier than you and I can comfortably wear size 14's too My goal is to get down to 10 and a half initially and see how I feel. Last time I was any less than that I was 21

SheikYerbouti · 28/07/2008 12:34

Ok, for the unfitters amongst you - 10 minute walk a day this week (go in the evening/morning when it;'s cooler) Make it as brisk as possible and go without children/children in buggy if you can (whne DH/DP gets home - know this isn't always possible)

I want 10 minutes EVERY DAY THIS WEEK - NO EXCUSES. The 15 mins a day next week. Build up gradually. The first 3 or 4 days will be tough, but keep it up and you will feel miles better. If you have an ipod or similar, butng it obn.

Can I recommend everyone get a pedometer as well? I have one and it has made a difference to how much I move. they are cheap as chips. I have a fanglesd on that tells me my body fat % (Too high) and that onbly cost me £7. Buyu one instead of a bottle of wine.

FUCK ME, I am bossy.

OP posts:
TigerFeet · 28/07/2008 12:45

oooh Sheik you are such a bully

I am on the 10/10 thread and am supposed to do 10 mins a day for that... I do the fruit and veg thing very well most of the time - I do anything well that involves eating - but not the exercise

They aren't as... assertive.. as you

(If I spend 10 minutes quivering, does that count?)

Where did you get your fancy pants pedometer from [gadget envy]

jofeb04 · 28/07/2008 12:46

Oohhhhh, I'm going to buy a pedometer! As soon as foot is ok, will also do ten minutes fast walk a day - got an mp3 player so shouldn't be too bad.

I'm in. 7lb by end of August and size 12/14 by Christmas. Will have to buy scales.

TigerFeet · 28/07/2008 12:50

LisaLess - I think that different people carry weight differently - you know, apple and pear shapes - and that affects your dress size. I am a size 22 and cough stone but people often seem surprised as I carry a lot of weight on my arse and rugby player legs so it isn't so obvious. It's all behind me you see . I have learned to dress for my shape and whilst I am obviously overweight I don't always look as big as I am iyswim. A pair of wide legged trousers in a 22 will fit nicely and look OK but if I were to have some kind of sensibility bypass and buy a pair of skinny jeans I would need a 24 or possibly even a 26 as my thighs and calves are humungernormous.
