I want to be a size 12 by Chrimbo

And then eventually an 8.

But I need motivating.

I have been farting about on a diet for the last 3 weeks, but I keep cheating. Keep me on the straight and narrow, and in return, I can offer swift kicks up the harris for all of you what need it

Come on people!
Is everyone slacking??

Sheiky come back and kick arse!

And welcome piffle. You sound just like the committed dieter type we need

Sputnik · 27/08/2008 18:11

Well it's fine with me Piffle

Have you tried the Tupler technique? I have been doing that, and trying to remember to hold it in while exercising. Seems to be working, slowly.

Lots of us on here are using Fitday, you can track everything you eat, your exercise, set goals etc. it's fab.

Sputnik · 27/08/2008 18:15

I am quite stiff from yesterday's efforts, so I did cleaning today in lieu of exercise. Most unlike me.

Yes, where is the Sheik? Hope she's ok.

Piffle · 27/08/2008 18:23

h yes have tupler book and do my tummy bits when driving-not much in hols as am virtuously walking everywhere.
Committed yes for one day only this far! !
Success breeds success allegedly
I'm praying lol

Slouchy · 27/08/2008 18:28

Just sneaking in to say Piffle - december! wow, scary stuff (but great). Still waiting on my referral to PCT to see if they will consider funding it.

As for weight - harumph. Like I said, bil is VG cook...and i couldn't be rude...could I?

Will try to get back on track next week.

SheikYerbouti · 27/08/2008 19:17

Right

I am preparing to KICK SOME HARRIS

But not until the weekend, as I have got a tough day at work tomorrow, I have got a bad tummy (Which is good in a way - I haven't eaten anything but a slice of toast in the last 36 hours, due to stomach pain) I also have my friend's funeral on Friday - so to be honest, ny head isn't in the right place. But I promose I wil;l start a new therad for all of our Saturday weightlosses.

Remeber, Saturday is when we will look at hpow much weight we have lost over the month, and I will encourage folk to get out tape measures and see where we can improve for the next goal (In my case, it will be wiring my jaw )

They say between 1 and 2 lbs is good to aim for if you want to keep it off. According to my fitday target I should be losing 1.3 lbs a week by eating 1600 odd calories per day. Last week I managed 1.5blbs. It's not that difficult once you work out what foods to avoid. I'm getting 3 meals per day plus snacks, plus ocasional glass of wine/cake/ice cream.

Seems to be working.

I think it's ok to relax a bit at the weekend, anyway we are weighing ourselves saturday morning so have all week to recover

When are you off Stormy?

Piffle · 28/08/2008 12:11

I'm being ever so good with food I must say
Booze was alwaysmy downfall!
Done 2hrs bloody physical gardeni g this morning and am walking 2 miles again later with ds2 to doc for vaccinations .

Hoping I can keep it up for 6-8weeks
Then can relax and enjoy 2 weeks in Oz!!

this is a good inspirational thread if folk are finding it tough

OP posts:
Jahan · 28/08/2008 21:49

Enjoy, Stormy!

I've had a bad food day but I don't think I went over my cals (doritos and angel cake were the main culprits thanks to a friend popping over with them). I had lots but then didn't have any lunch or dinner.
Not the best diet but its not an everyday thing.

I almost always lapse over the weekends. Its just that theres always something on but then I try to make up for it on mon and tues.

Piffle · 28/08/2008 22:47

how many cals should I eat for best balance?
Been averaging 1500-1600 but have never calorie watched before! !
Is that right ortoo high/low
What do you all eat etc
Think I'm doing it right but erm dunno

SheikYerbouti · 28/08/2008 22:51

Fitdaty give ypu what your consumption should be around - if you are heavier/bfing etc, you need more calories than someone lighter. I think if you go to the weight bit, it;'s in calorie blalance

1500-1600 sounds about right, but some people need more, especially if you are active

Hobnobfanatic · 28/08/2008 22:59

I have the Tupler book too, but I'd love the DVD. I find it really hard to exercise to a book (well, exercise full-stop!). The American site has the DVD, but no UK postage. If anyone has seen the DVD in the UK, please, please let me know: I have the mummy tummy of ALL mummy tummies!

(Not helped by eating chips tonight - felt fluey, so couldn't be bothered to shop and cook )

SheikYerbouti · 28/08/2008 23:04

Hobnob, my sweet, yours is probably nothing compared to mine

OP posts:
Hobnobfanatic · 28/08/2008 23:09

I need braces to hold it up, Sheik! Believe me, if we had a 'who has the biggest mum tum competition' on MN, I would win hands (well, belly) down! In fact, losing weight seems to make it worse - the loose skin is looser!

Shudder.

I fear there are only two options: another baby (it looks great when 8 months' pregnant - no sag!), or the knife...

PinkButterfly · 29/08/2008 09:51

Hello all

It's nearly that time of the week again and I've had another pretty crap week. My motivation has just been at an all time low so I have changed my tack and I joined Scottish Slimmers last night. So Thursday is my starting day (managed exercise and stuck to my checks yesterday for the first time in a long time). 12lbs to lose. So I will be officially weighing on a Thursday evening. I will still follow Sheik's exercise and water regime and do a wee Saturday morning weight and report in here to see how we are all doing.

Hope you all have a good loss tomorrow.

(thinking of you today Sheik x)

(bye Cap - hope to see you here with us again soon x)
