I want to be a size 12 by Chrimbo

And then eventually an 8.

But I need motivating.

I have been farting about on a diet for the last 3 weeks, but I keep cheating. Keep me on the straight and narrow, and in return, I can offer swift kicks up the harris for all of you what need it

Dillinger, would you e-mail me? intergalacticwalrus @ hotmail . co. uk

Well, my wii fit was delivered this morning, and I have done 30 mins and plan to go swimming tonight. Some of the things on that wii fiut are impossible and the yoga kills. I* quite fancy doing the yoga class, but The only ones I can find are at the wrong time for me.

Anyway, Hope you are all having a good day - I am just off to stert the mammoth task that is cleaning my hovel. I really need to shampoo the sitting room carpet as well, but I doubt I will bother

As we are sort of half way through the 1st week, ho do you think you are doing? Think I am OK, apart from getting pissed on Saturday (am out Fri & Sat this weekend, eek! Such a social butterfly!)

Also, as well as weight, can you all do me a favour and measure yourselves? You don;t need to tell anyone your measure, menst, but you might find that you lose inches before lbs, so if you find the weight is sticking,m you can go an measure yourself to see if you are indeed shrinking

I am doing badly, already [resigned sigh]

I left my healthy salady lunch on the worktop in the kitchen after a mad panic to find my keys resulted in us running late this morning...

Am off the booze during the week though

I woke up at 6am feeling chipper and thought "I'll get up and do some exercise" then promptly fell back to sleep until the alarm went off

Dillinger, sounds rough, poor you . Are you totally against the ad's? I do understand where you are coming from but for me, I found that they helped me pick myself up and dust myself off. I hope your HV can help. Can you find a different GP?

SheikYerbouti · 29/07/2008 11:18

no no no, you are NOT doing badly, TF.

The day is still young. OK you have left your salad behind, but you cans still have it tomorrow (if it hasn't gone limp) you canb buy something hea;thy fromthe shops at lunchtime, maybe a salad with cold meat and some fruit? All is not lost

And you can still do some exercise toady - walk round the block at lunchtime.

Don';t give up

MEASURE myself?

I don't think I can breathe in that hard

TigerFeet · 29/07/2008 11:26

I only get half an hour for lunch which I rarely take so I can get finished and get home - no time for shopping or walking unfortunately. But I will do vigorous ironing tonight followed by a go on my stepper.

I bought some cycling shorts last week, but have not yet progressed to unearthing dh's bike from the darkest recesses of the shed and doing the chain oiling/tyre pumping thang. Must get (substantial) arse in gear.

TigerFeet · 29/07/2008 11:28

MEASURE? I missed that post

Argghhh

Not sure they make tape measures that big

Where are we measuring?

When I did WW we had to measure in about twelve different places so if you lost a teeny tiny amount of weight it amounted to three inches in total off the body (of which none off the arse)

Right done measurements. Last time I did them was 9 pound ago which rather crappily was 21st March so not done very well on the weight loss in 4 months

2 and a half inches off widest part of boobs
2 inches off ribcage under boobs
1 and a half inches off round my belly (needs to be more
Stayed the same round hip bones
1 and a half off the widest part of my bum thighs
1 inch off each thigh
1/4 inch off my knees.

Could do better, need to sort the belly out, better not lose anymore of the boobs

TigerFeet · 29/07/2008 12:00

It's a right bugger and no mistake - you never lose weight from where you want to

I would love to lose some off my boobs but they seem to stay put, no matter what I weigh. My stomach, which comparitively isn't too bad, gets smaller and my bum and boobs just look more out of proprotion with my waist

[wails]

dillinger · 29/07/2008 12:03

Sheik - have emailed you.

Tigerfeet - Im just not keen on going on them again as I was on them for about 4 years and had a hell of a time.

Thanks to everyone for your supportive comments. Means a lot.

Havent been able to measure myself Ive got dd clamped to me lol I'll try later.

QuintessentialShadows · 29/07/2008 12:03

Oh FOUND YOU SHEIK!!!

I have tried to be good. I did not eat after I started feeling full yesterday, and I had NO pudding.

SheikYerbouti · 29/07/2008 12:13

I promise.

Tips for upper arms? Will cross trainer sort them too? Im not far off bingo wings

Fanella · 29/07/2008 12:21

Off to work in a minute so I will measure myself later. I'm never sure where to measure but think I will follow LLL's strategy.

I think I'm doing quite well so far this week. Today I've had 1 slice of toast with honey and a bit of melon, big salad and crackers, and lots of water.

It will all go downhill Saturday night as I've got a 40th to go to - booze and buffet ahoy.

dillinger sorry you're feeling rubbish. FWIW 100 situps after being awoken so early is damn fine achievement I think.

QuintessentialShadows · 29/07/2008 12:22

I am scared of the measurements....
Do we need to post them here?

LisaLessLumpy · 29/07/2008 12:23

I've got a hen weekend this weekend but its at Hoar Cross Hall so I intend doing some gym work and swimming, before the massage and food and drink

dillinger · 29/07/2008 12:25

QS - well I dont think il be!

That sounds lovely LLL. Most exciting thing Im doing this wknd is go to the opticians

SheikYerbouti · 29/07/2008 12:30

No need to post measurements.

Its just for your own use. You can look back at them in a month's time and see how far ou have come

Hobnobfanatic · 29/07/2008 12:43

I've come to this late, but please can I join. I've lost a stone in the last six weeks, but am losing motivation now. This could be just what I need to get the other stone off!

dillinger · 29/07/2008 12:52

Hello hobnobfanatic, wow thats good going! I bought some scales a couple weeks ago and was 10st 12lb. Sunday I weighed 10st 5lb but today Im 10st 8lb... dont know whats happening there lol

All this up and down business is annoying

Jahan · 29/07/2008 15:01

I will measure myself this eve.

So far today, I have eaten porridge, banana, yoghurt, pitta bread, ryvita, salad.

Not too bad. I am going to my pilates class this eve so that'll be my exercise of the day.

I am so tired due to a very disturbed night (thanks dss). Its really hard to not reach for sugar fixes. But I will stay strong.

7lbs by the end of August! Yay!

SheikYerbouti · 29/07/2008 15:24

DO NOT WEIGH MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK

Your weight fluctuates in 7 days, weighing yourself more then once a week is futile and disheartening. I forbid it!

Really, the best way to view weight overall, imho, is to weigh once a month, but I know I can't wait that long - so we will do once a week - no more.

Dillinger, don ;'t get on those bloody scales until you wake up on Saturday.

OP posts:
SheikYerbouti · 29/07/2008 15:26

Weclcome, hobnob btw!

You are not too late, we have only been going since Saturday - besides, you can join in when you like. We are not quichey.
