I want to be a size 12 by Chrimbo

And then eventually an 8.

But I need motivating.

I have been farting about on a diet for the last 3 weeks, but I keep cheating. Keep me on the straight and narrow, and in return, I can offer swift kicks up the harris for all of you what need it

i have tried semi skimmed milk in coffee

well yes, I am awake, and I have had coffee

however it was joyless

IShaggedInVictorianSqualor · 20/08/2008 11:43

I'm crap at this. I did really well monday but sunday I had a MASSIVE roast dinner, and apple strudel with ice-cream, and later I had hot chocolate fudge cake with cream, on the plus side I didn't drink.
Monday I had homemade chicken soup for lunch and sausage and mash for dinner, yesterday I started off well, homemade soup again for lunch, pasta in arabiatta sauce(homemade so not full of shit) with tons of salad for dinner, but then downed two bottles of wine.

Jahan · 20/08/2008 11:44

cake. I really really want cake.

Shall we have some virtual cake?

I'd like a huge piece of a strawberry and fresh cream gateau please.

scorpio1 · 20/08/2008 11:45

VS - could you not keep wine in the house? I don't anymore otherwise i would be drinking alot more too.

IShaggedInVictorianSqualor · 20/08/2008 11:55

I don't keep wine in the house, christ, if I did I hate to imagine how much I'd drink!

SheikYerbouti · 20/08/2008 12:56

Hello all.

Feeling more positive today - but we are still waiting to hear the details about my friend's death - not knowing is so hard. There is a picture of him on the local rag's website. That made me howl.

I am very proud of myself that I haven't strayed off my diet this week, even though I have had a tough few days. I went swimming last night, it reallyn helped to clear my head. I am going tonight as well, after tidying my house, which has degenerated into chaos.

My mtate is comeing to stay oin Saturday - inevitable, I will be drinking lager and making a tit of myself, so I need to be as good as poss before that - thje 7lb deadline looms ever closer!

Hi Sheik.... glad to hear you are feeling more positive, and thanks for coming back to kick our collective arses into gear! Well done for not straying off diet, am impressed (stress always sends me towards the Land of Sausage Sandwiches, which can't possibly be part of any diet...). Am looking at my virtuous salad lunch as I type...

Jahan · 20/08/2008 14:11

Well done Sheik. It must be a tough time.

Well, I've just baked an apple cake but am going to include it as part of my 1400 cals today. All that talk of cake got the better of me
(Plus I've got friends coming over this afternoon and a tree full of cooking apples that I've not used yet this year)

Sputnik · 20/08/2008 15:42

Good to hear you're staying strong Sheiky, it must be really awful for you, take care.

Capp, if your coffee was joyless then maybe just enjoy your coffee and shave the calories off somewhere else. I'm a big fan of super fat-filled greek yogurt, I'm happy to skip some bread or salad dressing or something in order to have it.

Cappuccino · 20/08/2008 19:07

no sputnik the full fat has to go

the only other thing that can go is booze

Cappuccino · 20/08/2008 20:57

how do you get fitday to tell you how many calories you can have?

it has told me how many calories i burn but how do you get it to give you a ceiling?

Sputnik · 20/08/2008 21:19

You have to put in your starting weight, then your goal weight for a given date. It'll then give you the daily deficit to aim for.

Go into the "weight goal" bit, then look at "calorie restriction"

Sputnik · 20/08/2008 22:11

This arrived yesterday, and I tried out the drop a size one all the way through. Quite fun in a way, I was actually laughing during the aerobic workout, though mostly at my pathetic inability to follow the moves, it's true I reckon about exercise making you feel good.

Anyway, she's not bad, keeps reminding you to pull your tummy in and explains the exercises. Didn't find it that challenging, but fun and good value for 2 DVDs.

Jahan · 21/08/2008 08:36

That looks good Sputnik. How long is the exercise routine? How often do you need to do it?

You're so right about exercise making you feel better. Healthy eating makes you feel great too.
Its so simple - eat healthy, exercise and you'll feel more energetic and positive and look better. Why is is it so hard in practice???!

Not a bad day yesterday but need to be extra good today and tomorrow if I want to show that 2lb loss on Sat!

Sputnik · 21/08/2008 10:01

I forgot to time it, but there is a stretchy warm up, a lower body workout, an abs workout all about 15 mins each, then 1 just aerobics and another aerobics plus muscle building exercises, both about 20 minutes. Didn't feel that tough but must have done something as my muscles still ache a bit.

You can choose 1 or customise to do in whatever combination or order you want. I'll be trying the 2nd DVD today.

scorpio1 · 21/08/2008 12:15

Same here Jahan, have to be extra good today and tomorrow.

i had 1200ccals yesterday....

and then a kit kat chunky

(in my nestle defence i didnt buy it, ds1 grandma did)

Sputnik · 21/08/2008 14:32

I've noticed a few discrepancies on Fitday too, it seems to assume if you cook things (eg lentils) you automatically add fat, which isn't helpful really. I just cross checked on the chick peas, it reckoned 235 calories per 100g of chick peas with 10g of fat, whereas it's really 134 calories with 1.6g of fat.

However, it does seem to be true that oats contain fat, I never realised that.

I have about 200 cals left for the rest of the day.
What shall I eat for dinner???

scorpio1 · 21/08/2008 16:23

are you counting veg? you could make veg soup and have 2 pieces of bread!

Jahan · 21/08/2008 16:29

I'm trying to count everything. I don't want to do 'heavy' carbs for dinner.
I can add some beans or lentils to a veg soup, I guess.

SheikYerbouti · 21/08/2008 16:41

Been good today

fitday is fabbo isn't it?

However, I have just had the realisation today that my cellulite is tres bad and I look like a pepperpot (in my mind's eye, I am Cindy Crawford-esque)

Good today. after crud day yesterday (a whole trifle and some ben and jerry ice cream )

I'm finding i am not really that hungry a lot of the time now. Its more often about fancying something sweet/ carby, and when I give in I binge. I wonder if I am more in tune with my body's natural appetite? as well as being a greedy old bint.

Sheik, good to seeya. Even if you did call me a ho on another thread. you with yer biffa bins an'all (tut)
