Where is everybody? And should we maybe thinnk of opening a new thread?

Tommy · 18/01/2009 22:28

I'm here but have had such a bad (i.e.good ) weekend that I am ashamed to be here - dinner at friends' on Friday including a huge amount of wine, tea party here yesterday (copious amounts of sandwiches and cake) and out for lunch today

A new thread would be good - are you going for it Fairlady?

chloejessmeg · 19/01/2009 19:34

Hello. I am thinking about joining SW as I am pregnant and I know it is one of the few diets you can do while pregnant/BF. BUT I really can't afford to pay for it every week. Does anybody know of a way to get round it? Can you do it without joining? I don't really want to go to classes etc at the moment, maybe after the baby is born etc.
Any ideas? Do you all pay the weekly membership?

Tommy · 19/01/2009 20:01

I don't go to a class but have been in the past so I have all the books and stuff. It is a very good diet in pregnancy - it kept me on the straight and narrow while pg with DS3 - it was after he was born that I put on all the weight

I think there might be some books on ebay - may be worth having a look? If you just want to follow the basic principles then you'd just need one good book to get you started. Have you seen the magazine? Don't oftenget it myself but that might have some good pointers in it

chloejessmeg · 19/01/2009 20:17

No, I haven't seen a magazine. TBH all I have seen is their website with the 7 day meal planner etc. I will be Breastfeeding when DD is born and really want to go at it then as this is when I put on loads last time.

chloejessmeg · 19/01/2009 20:23

I have just had a quick look on ebay any it is about £22 for a starter pack. Does anybody know if this is enough? What about this new easy plan? Don't really know what is what. If I buy the starter pack, am I going to still need to buy the easy plan book? Or can I just do the easy plan thing! Its so confusing!

Tommy · 19/01/2009 22:35

sorry chloejessmeg - I don't really know - not having been to a class for nearly 3 years! I hope someone more helpful will be along soon

loobyt · 20/01/2009 10:08

hello all. i lost 4lbs, yay! also bought a new set of scales and weigh 5lbs less on those!

the magazine is good chloe, loads of recipes and syn values on all kinds of things, worth a look.

FairLadyRantALot · 20/01/2009 12:33

chloe, you'd be better of joining your local class, you will get the books there and the pg/bf advice, as you are pg, and than, well, you can just not go...and you won't have to pay if you don't return!

agree magazine is great, and, as I offered one on here, the dec. issue, so, not the atest but the one before, and no one seems interested, give me your addi via e-mail
realjolie AT yahoo DOT de
and I could send you the magazine, if you like!

looby, well done to you...but I am a bit gree with envy...I wish I would start having bigger losses...it really is getting me down a bit....this time it is just so fecking ssssssssssssssssslllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww sigh!

Well, am weighing in tomorrow and we shall see!

FairLadyRantALot · 20/01/2009 12:37
