Hectich I am interested - how do I get your e-mail please ?

Christie makes me think how we worry about unimportant things.

SWlurker · 19/07/2008 17:57

Oh Christie sorry to hear that

What do you think it wil take to get us all back on track? Maybe we use this thread as an online diary? Or open another thread as a pur diary thread and have this as hints and tips?

I made a lovely pasta bake last night - cooked pasta, passatta, mixed herbs, sweetcorn and rehydrated soya (tesco wholefoods dried soya is free so I have just discovered, and cheaper than quorn mince) - with low fat cheese on top. It was lovely, so good that I ate it all in one evening ... amazingly it was 4 HE of cheese, so I was ok as hadn't had any HEbs that day either!

Contemplating my dinner. I might try making meatballs out of that mince stuff

collette. special offer until the end of july - no joining fee. so you could go to one class and pay £4.50, get the latest book and have a consultant explain it to you and not go back again. £25 on e-bay is taking the piss - I would want liposuction for that!

Tommy · 20/07/2008 19:01

hello all - am back from my weekend away where I have had croissants, biscuits, peanuts, apple crumble and custard among other completely un-SW food as well as copious amounts of wine

Had a great time though

Will weigh myself tomorrow morning and get back on the wagon. I have one stone to go but am not sure if I'll manage it over the holidays

colette · 20/07/2008 20:27

Heavy that is a good idea, don't know if I will mange it as dh going away soon and working really long hours before that .
I feel a bit mean just going once but will try and find a way if possible. As you say £25 is taking the piss !!!
Could be a money spinner at this time of year going to loads of different classes and selling the books on e-bay

bunny3 · 20/07/2008 20:43

Gawd, I've been really crap. I maintained this week (weigh-in thursdays)and have fallen completely off the wagon. Ds is having lots of problems at school and I had a difficult meeting with his teacher and SENCO. Since then I have comfort eaten BIG time - cakes, chocolate, biscuits, puddings plus vast amounts of alcohol last night. Now I have three days to try and undo all the bad stuff. Looks like more quorn for me then!

Furball, you asked about quorn... well, I dont eat much meat so am used to meat subs and quite like them. Quorn mince is fab for chillli, bolognaise, cottage pie type of things. Quorn chicken style pieces are horrible, the beef style ones even worse imo. Sausages and burgers are ok (microwaved burgers are minging though, they go all rubbery.)

SWlurker · 21/07/2008 14:19

Ah y'see I prefer the chicken bits to the mince - I love the taste of quorn though, so I know I'm in the minority for starters!

Have yanked my SW head back on and am back on track. Had puny amounth of cereal and milk for brekkie, a tin of spaghetti for a snack (don't ask I'm weird) and smash and baked beans for lunch, followed by weetabix and milk for a sweet tooth this afternoon.

Still got that sweet tooth though, so might treat myself to an options with a cheeky square of dark chocolate

Hi all just reading all your posts and catching up. It was my mums 50th birthday on Saturday and we went bowling and laser questing it was great, the food was very un-slimming world Burger and chips and somehow I managed to drink around eight pints of cider (from what we can remember! Oh I have been so ill even today!!!!! plus I had a Mcdonalds yesterday (great for hangovers honest) so if I maintain this week I'll be more than happy altho I'm making up with exercising loads and eating superfree food but only tomws weigh in will tell. I will be soooo good next week and get a great loss to make up for this week!

heavy · 22/07/2008 08:46

weigh in tonight for me too. Had a proper blow out on friday (and a little bit saturday too!) but have had hardly any syns the rest of the week so I am hopeful it won't be a complete disaster. Thought I'd had no syns the other day only to realise you have to count avocado.

I am still looking to buy the slimming world books at a reasonable price (not the e-bay £25 ) or get to a class. I have found some info on the internet and just started anyway. I have lost about 2lb in a week which is fine.
However I am a bit stuck on healthy extras .
Would anyone tell me how much wholemeal bread is on the healthy extra b list please ?
I have had 28g of branflakes today from the healthy extras b and hope that I should be able to include some bread as well .

Thanks all

colette · 22/07/2008 14:13

Hello firstar, I have managed so far to get the kids to eat roughly the same so it has not increased cooking too much.
Dd has said she does not want pasta again though she does not know she is going to be eating loads of quorn soon

sticktoit · 22/07/2008 14:26

Hi all, being OKish at the mo although had 15 syns yesterday. I am on a night out this Friday but hoping to just have vodka and diet coke and eating before I go out so I'm in control. That is the plan, hopefully I will just do it!

Collette, you can have 57g wholemeal roll or two slices wholemeal bread but from a small 400g loaf not a normal 800g load i.e. nimble.

I think I have an old SW book in the back of my kitchen cupboard, would you be interested in that? Bearing in mind it isn't completely up to date??

colette · 22/07/2008 14:32

Sticktoit you have really cheered me up and I can eat a choccie biscuit . I would like the book I will pay you for it. I don't mind if it's old so long as it has the basics in it. How do I contact you?
Keep in control thanks

Tommy · 22/07/2008 16:11

hi eveyyone - put on a pound so not too damage done at the weekend.

Have discovered a really yummy salad dressing. It's Sainsbury's God for You sweet red pepper dressing. It's only about 1/2 syn for 3 tablespoons (you wouldn't have that much anyway) and it is lovely - really livens up a salad or plain rice if you're adding things to it to make a salad or something. I would reccommed it!

HollyandNoah · 22/07/2008 17:27

hey!!

Ive never actually been in the diet trhreads before so.. hello all! I'm Holly.
I joined slimming world and i love it! its easy to follow i think, and although i never seem to feel hungry i am managing to loose weight. I have only been three weeks though, and still have three and a bit stone to go to reach my target of ten stone. I have so far lost 13lbs. yey!xx

sticktoit · 22/07/2008 18:27

Welcome Holly - yes SW is super fab!

Colette - email me emmacapener at ymail dot com with your address etc and I'll bundle it all together.

Don't want any money for it - it's seen better days, the front cover has come off but it's just sat in the cupboard so it's yours!

heavy · 22/07/2008 21:11

Hi everyone. Lost 1.5 lb which is good but I have lost 3lb in the time it's taken Holly to lose 13! well done you. Had a stand in consultant this week as usual one is on hols, she was great and really enthused everyone. She thinks it is important to include speed foods at every meal (aim for 8-10 speed foods a day!) and try not to eat excessive amounts of fruit between meals even though it's free. For example I have been feeling very virtuous having jacket potato with cottage cheese at lunch but jacket potato with baked beans is better and jacket potato with baked beans and side salad is even better than that! I have rushed straight from class to asda to stock up on speed food and will be subjecting hubby to it all this week. Am treating myself to glass of wine tonight though

glitterkitty · 22/07/2008 21:20

Can I join?

Oh Heavy thats useful to know, I have just started (well just got back from my 1st week weigh in) and absolutely gutted only lost 1.5.

I was hoping for a good 1st week, especially as I tried really hard and stuck totally to plan, was so proud of myself until I stood on the scales!

Now I feel really down. Wish your motivational woman had been at our meeting, not keen on the consultant at mine tbh

Think I ate too much potato/beans/bananas and maybe not enough lettuce.

HollyandNoah · 22/07/2008 22:08

I always have lots of fruit between meals, it makes me not eat such big meals i think. baked potato and cottage cheese mmm you are making my mough water!!!x

SWlurker · 22/07/2008 22:53

I am so fed up. Just got on the scales. My worst fears true- I weight the heaviest I have ever been! I have been halfheartedly trying to follow SW for months and not so long ago stopped going to class because my heart wasn't in it. I felt confident and happy even though I knew I was over weight. Its back to earth with a crash- I have a date tomorrow with a bloke I really like and I can't wear my loveliest top, so have settled for a "safe" cover up baggy one instead.

I am going to "last out the week" on the food I have got (SW friendly, apart from the bar of chocolate which will be BINNED!!) and on Friday when I get paid have a SERIOUSLY slimming speed food shop. I can see a lot of salad based meals coming my way!!
