More picnic ideas welcome please! I usually end up with cold quorn sausages (ok with some colmans mustard to dip), hard boiled eggs, laughing cows, quorn scoth eggs (1 syn each and really nice), spanish omlette if I can be ar$ed.

Feeling bloaty today so have had some water retention tablets. Desperate for a loss on Thursday.

hectich1979 · 29/07/2008 19:00

well I've not gone to class tonight very naughty I know! but on my scales I have put on 4lb so you can imagine how far off plan I've been this week eating anything and everything just lost the plot completely. As of tomw I'm back on plan I can't put all the hard work to waste and I'm back at work next week and would love my uniform to fit better. I'm going to step up the exercise (as in start doing it!) and stick to plan 100% and try to make a little loss next week x

heavy · 30/07/2008 08:35

Hello
Went to class last night and have lost 3.5 lbs! Was slimmer of the week
I did drink a ridiculous amount of vodka at the weekend but I have been really good with my speed foods.
Have been using the slimming world website to chart my progress: magic graph shows I can get to my target before christmas - am determined to keep the line going down not up.
Dinner of the week (green day) was shepherds pie made with quorn mince (S), peppers (S)and mushrooms (S) topped with carrot (S) and swede (S) mash served with peas (SS) and broad beans (SS). You could eat the shepherds pie on either day though and just serve it with something different.
There is a big feature on picnics in the slimming world magazine this month.
New password is cress x

Gosh well done Heavy!

You are an inspiration

I need to stay neutral today as I am eating out tonight and don't know what options there will be.

Already struggling, haven't even eaten yet!

Hello

I'm still here too, not much movement on this thread at the moment, is there?

Heavy, you have inspired me for a dinner for next week! My last night's dinner was rather scrumy and very easy. I sliced a load of potatoes and onions, and layered in a deep dish, spraying each layer with fry light and herbs/seasoning, and chucked the whole thing in the oven on a low ish heat for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. last 10 minutes cooking time I added HEa cheese and and tiny sliver of butter, and it was gorgeous, even if I do say so myself!!!

Hiya all

I'm posting just to keep myself in check really. I'm having a few days off.......

I've been feeling quite low recently and had a pregnancy scare thing this week and my head just isn't in it. I start with all good intensions, well you know how it is.

Anyway back on plan Sunday latest. Can't risk putting any of the weight back on!

colette · 01/08/2008 15:47

I tried the butternut squash and lentil curry, found it on the website. It is pretty good did not have any spinach but added peppers and courgettes to bulk it out a bit. Freezes well and you can have it with jacket potatoe as well. I am losing weight very slowly.
Sticktoit can understand why your mind was not on dieting ! Hope you're o.k

bunny3 · 02/08/2008 09:08

I fell off wagon yesterday when unexpectedly ended up in pizza hut for lunch (and it was a bloody buffet, disaster!). Then wine last night and I am going out this evening too so undoubtedly more wine and food. I must must must get back to SW before it all goes completely pear-shaped.

Sticktoit, good luck. I have every sympathy!

KateF · 02/08/2008 09:49

Hi, I'd like to join you please. Have just restarted SW as have put on loads of weight this year. I've done well on it in the past but now need to lose about 4 stone . Have already picked up some good ideas from this thread

wornoutwaitress · 02/08/2008 10:27

I am looking to restart after a 2 month break. can anyone tell me this week's password?

TheRealMrsOsborne · 02/08/2008 15:28

Hello everyone, can you tell me a bit about how the green/red days work?
I'm considering doing SW, have done WW before and i am currently doing the lipotrim diet (On day 3) but it is so hard.

Is it worth me trying SW?

me23 · 02/08/2008 15:31

hi there, I did slimming world last jan last 7lbs then stopped, I've put it back on need to lose 2st at least.
want to lost 1 stone by 15th sept (when I start midwifery degree)
weighed myself on weds 11st7

me23 · 02/08/2008 15:32

hi realmsosborne, with a red day you can eat as much meat as you want basically as long as no fat etc... plus fish.

green days you can have unlimited pasta, rice, potatoes.

wornoutwaitress · 02/08/2008 17:10

does anyone know how many syns the asda good for you crispy cracker selection crisps, good for you toffee mousse and the jarred bamboo shoots in lidl are?

also how come the canned apple slices from asda are synned even though they aren't in any juice or syrup?

wornoutwaitress · 02/08/2008 17:26

just to let everyone know the asda ripe and juicy frozen fruits frozen aren't free. they are 4.5 syns for blackberries and 5.5 syns for blueberries. i'm not sure why though...

colette · 03/08/2008 14:41

Hello Me23 - having a date in mind really helps as you can't keep putting it off. Wornoutwaitress - I think I would have a kit kat instead then . Is the fruit cooked ? Doesn't sound like it is . You can look foods up on the website.
I am thinking of doing a mix'n'match and would be grateful for advice . I have had a green lunch- baked potatoes , cheese and beans.
If I have youngs salmon in watercress sauce ( free on original) does that mean I can't have any sort of carbs with it without it being a sin? I would rather spend the sins on wine especially since dcs are diving me mad since dh away.

nappyaddict · 03/08/2008 15:29

i think you could have some as a healthy extra. no the ripe and juicy fruits are just frozen fruits. not sure what makes them have syns as usually frozen fruit is still free.

btw just thought i'd share this with you all.

colette · 03/08/2008 17:36

Thanks nappyaddict I thought because I had already had some potatoes (though free on a green lunch ) that would count as a healthy extra . I should be really good today as I wasn't yesterday - wine then small bag of crisps then more wine then toast and jam the a few of the kids chocolates

nappyaddict · 03/08/2008 18:47

you can have 2 HEb as potatoes so it depends how many you had for lunch i guess.

SWlurker · 04/08/2008 12:22

Oh dear I've been on plan weekdays and off plan weekends - need to pull it together!! I just have too much synful food in the house! Have decided that if I can't control my cheese consumption (I can't!) then I just won't be allowed it, so am not buying in any more cheese and am having milk as my HEAs - just cutting something out alltogether works well for me with chocolate, otherwise I crave it more and more, so hopefully this will work for me, and if I don't have it in the house, I can't eat it..! Not going to say no to the odd portion of it if I go out for a meal though

in fact, I am going to put away all my little synful things like ketchup, mayo etc - I want my syns for a bottle of wine at the weekend, and at the moment its going on silly things.
Hope everyone else is on track!

Just had an omelette with beef in this chilli sauce thing.

2 garlic cloves minced
1 fresh red chilli or 4 dried red chilli's
5 teaspoons sweetener
Juice & pulp of 1/4 lime
4 tablespoons of fish sauce
5 tablespoons of water

Pound garlic, chilli's & sugar in a mortar and pestle.
Stir in the lime juice & pulp, then the fish sauce and water; mix and combine the ingredients well.

KateF · 04/08/2008 19:57

Well, I lost 3lb in my first week back on the plan . SW really does work! Best friend is also slimming but with Rosemary Conley as she likes the exercise class. Wish I could get to a class but no chance with dhs work hours. Friend wants to know if children can do SW as her 8 yr old ds is very overweight-could one of you ask your class leader?

hectich1979 · 04/08/2008 20:04

Hi all

I think you have to be 11 to join the childrens version of slimming world theres a hole section on the sw website.
Well still haven't got my head into gear food wise, but I have joined a new gym it has a circuit of resistance machines and exercise stops that you use for 30 seconds each and do the circuit 3 times equaling 30 minutes of exercise I'm planning on going every day after work to make the most of it whilst the kids are on half term they measure and weigh you every month at the gym to monitor your progress I'll let u know how I get on. I'll still be going to class with my mum and friends sw will keep an eye on my eating the gym will get me to exercise (hopefully)!!

kid · 05/08/2008 09:56

I'm not doing SW at the moment, instead I am doing 2 weeks of slimfast due to my holiday coming up. I don't know if its working yet, today is day 4 and I am sticking to it, just.

After the holiday I can get back to SW and actually cook some healthy meals which is proving to be my downfall.
