lurker. 2 weeks ago i was also the heaviest i have ever been! Tis only one week and one number, will be lower next week and lower again week after that. You WILL have a tiny skinny bum!

SWlurker · 23/07/2008 11:46

Thanks Heavy. (I hope you change your name to something lighter soon, it won't be appropriate when you weigh less! )

Am in a more positive frame of mind today because I've decided to do something about it. Lots of speed foods and not spending my syns on silly things. I am also going to cut chocolate out. I know SW is all about not cutting things out completely, but I'm not sensible and can't stick to a small amount of chocolate, and find that if I cut it out then after a couple of days I don't crave it any more.

By the way has anyone got the password please?

C'mon SW - you can do it girl!!!!

Password is Seafood.

hello.

I am a lurker on the SW threads. I may have contributed a few months ago but did the diet half heartedly for a short period of time. As a result....no weight loss. Anyway, to cut a long story short I need to give myself a good kick up the backside and knuckle down and do. I have about 5 stone to lose...yikes! At the moment I have no interest in clothes and I'm feeling pretty terrible about myself. We are going on holiday early next year and I don't want to look like this. so, please can I join you for some motivation, inspiration and support?

heavy · 23/07/2008 19:57

you're very welcome picture this.

seafood will run out soon - latest password is football

justneedsomesleep · 24/07/2008 09:06

Woo hoo!
5.5lbs off last week so 8.5lbs in total!
Why did no one tell me about this diet before?!
I was soooooo ! Mostly red days, so that obviously works for me. However will treat myself with a green today.

Lots of luck and will power to everyone!

Love

P x

Hey everyone

Welcome to newcommers - we need you!!

I have had a week of 14 syn days so a bit about it but at least I'm back in control. Next week I am going to get serious about keeping weekday syns down so I can enjoy them at the weekends, and eating loads of speed foods.

Bought some salad - amazed myself by being full after a plate of lettuce, tomato, cucumer and cottage cheese, so felt a bit saintly after that! really fancied quiche with the rest of the salad but resisted and had it with cottage cheese again, so even if I did have 14 syns yesterday I consider I was VERY good!

Hi all, I am SW'ler....and am so upset right now....yesterday I went to weigh in and I was extrememly good the whole week, because, well, my goal was to loose 3 1/2 pounds and to get to my first stone....well, when I went onto the scales I had put 2 Ibs on...I mean, come on....tis not fair....! I don't get bothered if I put on and I know it's my own doing....but I written down every morsel that went into my mouth, and I used extreme self discipline, too...because, I had to bake several cakes in that week and I never licked the spoon once etc....!
The only thing I did different this past week, was having a fair few mix2match days....maybe that just doesn't work for me....I don't know....I really don't....sigh!
To rub it in, there were lots of women yesterday that did get their first stone award, etc....that really didn't help at all....! Obviously I am pleased for them...but could I not at least have lost a little?

Oh, and I tried out a recipe from that 100 saucy secrets book, the barbecue sauce...and it is really tasty....what with it being barbecue season, I thought I let ya know...it's synfree, which is a bonus....

SWlurker · 24/07/2008 15:23

3andnomore - did your consultant look over your food diary, and are you 100% sure you did M2M properly, i.e. superfree foods in between meals etc? Keep on track this week and maybe next week you'll have a big loss that makes up for it, I used to find that often my weight gain/loss corresponded to how good or bad I'd been the previous week - maybe I'm just a bit slow is is start week?

Thank you firststar, I always think going up to 15 every day isn't very good but I do need to remember that it is allowed! At least I feel in control again. Interesting point about green or red foods with it, in the "olden days" i.e. 4 years ago we were always told to keep the whole day free on both if we were going out for dinner if we didn't know what the menu was so that we could decide red or green at the meal.

OP posts:
3andnomore · 24/07/2008 15:42

swlurker...no she didn't go through my food diary...because we had a taster session we didn't really get into each individual...and also, I don't have a food diary as such, I just write it all down in my personal food diary, iykwim...just to keep on track...
I definately only snacked on superfree foods, though, i.e. fruit and free yoghurts...well, or I snack on Hifi Bar and use an healthy extra....!
My problem is, that we will be going to the Indian on Saturday and I am planning on indulging....we go out so very rarely, so, if we do, I want to enjoy myself proper, iykwim...hohum...!
I must say, normally I loose weight quite easily, when putting my mind to it, not as easily as I can put it on though, sigh....and this time it's all very slow progress, which isn't helpful at all...albeit might mean that I am hopefully more able to stay at goalweight, once I reach my target...

SWlurker · 24/07/2008 17:18

3andnomore, Saturday is fine, you know your options but just in case I'll run through them with you...

  1. Save syns up until then. Check syn values of what you want, plan in advance, and stick to it
  2. Go flexible - plan and work out syns as per point 1, but have them on top of your normal allowance so you're not deprived for the rest of the week. Result is unlikely to be a gain because you stayed in control all the time, and at the end of the day it is only one meal.
  3. Say stuff it and forget yourself for the night, but get back on track the next day. Probably not something your consultant will say to you but I know its an option many of us would take!!

Does it involve alcohol? My top tip would be make sure you've got stuff for the morning after that is both SW friendly and that you're going to fancy!!

hi everyone. I managed to maintain again. Thats 3 weeks I have spent on 12.5 lb loss. I am stuck!! I have had a horrible tummy bug though this weekend and didnt eat for 24 hours, if that doesnt get me my stone award I'll eat my hat!

I am going to try red days now till thursday as I am sure green days bloat me.

sticktoit · 29/07/2008 08:39

hellllooooo

where is everyone??

I've had a bad few days - very bad - but feeling focused today and back on it.

How's everyone doing?

Tommy · 29/07/2008 08:46

lost a pound this week
I tink it is more dofficult over the holidays because of all the picnics etc. Am doing a picninc today for DSs and making yet another rice salad for myself but I'm trying to be good so that when I go on holiday, I'm not going to worry about it all too much.

sticktoit · 29/07/2008 09:10

Well done Tommy!

I have the same prob re. summer holidays hence why I've had 3 bad days. We've been going out and taking the kids places to eat and trying to find something SW friendly is almost imposs!!

I'm on hols on 27 Sept so a while to go yet but I cannot afford to put any on so I'll keep plodding on!

sticktoit - there are some advantages in having children who are so fussy with their food that we can't go anywhere to eat out - we always have to take picnic

SWlurker · 29/07/2008 09:47

Hello

Had 2 bad days - one where I gave up because I had been good all week so had a blow out on sunday (long car journey, I always found that difficult, so boring driving by yourself, but that's no excuse as I managed to stick to it on the way there.)

Other bad day was yesterday, 22 syns but that doesn't mean disaster - am calling it 15 and carrying 7 to today, so will just be careful about what I have syns-wise today. I want a bottle of wine at the weekend so have to save 35 syns throughout the week too!

OP posts:
SWlurker · 29/07/2008 09:58

Tommy - don't get bored with rice salads, will you - if you're like me If I get bored I'll give up and grab crisps etc - do you do any red days? Could you have rolled up slices of ham and extra light laughing cow cheese triangles (6 for 1 HEa)? The kids might like them too?

Or if green then what about pasta salad, or cold pasta bake from the night before (if you're organised!!), loads of fruit, cous cous with salad bits in....? Does that give you any more ideas?

OP posts:
Tommy · 29/07/2008 13:20

thanks swlurker. I only do green as we are veggie. I just need to vary what I put in them really. Today I had tuna (as health ex B) and tomatoes and cucumber with vegetable byriani. Yesterday I had quorn ham. Last week I did a nice couscous one with all the salady bits and half a can of chickpeas and some half fat feta cheese - that was really nice
