Hey all just come across this discussion board and you all look very helpful and friendly! i only joined slimming world 4 weeks ago after having my baby and have lost 12pounds so far so am v chuffed only a little further to go.

i am unable to make the class this week as my little boy is poorly so if anyone could post the new password i would b very grateful. i know last weeks was swede but as my club is on a monday i think it runs out today.

gl all for this weeks weigh in's

3andnomore · 12/08/2008 09:44

mumtokian, my group is on wednesdays, which means that for us swede still counts till then...but not sure if you could still log in with it if your group is on a monday....

Well...the last few days I have been very good...and I have decided to stop drinking (Alcohol)for a while, so hopefully that will have a positive effect on my weightloss....!
Shall see how much I lost tomorrow...hopefully, a tiny bit of chocolate Birthday cake won't have to bad an effect, lol....but surely I got to have a little bit on my youngest sons Birthday (can't believe he is 4 today)

SWlurker · 12/08/2008 11:39

Pretty please can I have the password?

I have managed to lose 8 lbs! in about 3 weeks, although granted I am on a different set of scales so probably some of it is due to that. Has really spurred me on - I'm 3lbs off my next stone barrier!

Lost another 2lb last night! Back later

Tommy · 13/08/2008 09:03

I lost 2lbs this week

I have passed down to the next stone barrier which is a very good place to be. I'm going on holiday next week though so I will probably put it all back on again.

Did a lovely Moroccan chickpea and vegetables thing last night with couscous - need to eat lots of speed foods this week and syn free stuff as we will doing no cooking next week and living on pizzas

heavy and tommy...I join the "lost 2Ibs this week"-club, too
Really pleased, as I reached my first stone now...wohoo....this means only 1Ib to loose to be at the next, lower, stone range and 2 Ibs to club ten....I think....!
Won't be able to go next week, because we will be camping, so, booked next week off as a Holiday...but I am determined that I will have a loss by next way in...would love to reach my Club 10, obviously!

Christie, I think , if you been on a proper Holiday, you should not feel guilty, even if you put some weight back on...Holiday is treat time. Just get back on track and you will get to your goalweight
Omelettes with lots of vegetables (peppers, Mushrooms, Spinach, Courgettes, etc...) are a great way to enjoy completely syn free meals with as many speedfoods added as you like
Or , if you have got the saucy Secret book and forinstance are a Curry liker...you can make the sauces and add lots of vegetables into it during cooking...and then depending if you go for green or original you can add meat/chicken/prawns, etc...and if on a green day plenty of rice and if on original, maybe have some brown rice as a HE.

Must admit, I am glad I got a fair few SW cookbooks and also buy the magazines...the recipe ideas keep me going, keep me trying different things....helps to keep me motivated.

heavy · 13/08/2008 19:06

Well done Lurker and Tommy!

So now we have 3andnomore and stick to it at club 10 - fantastic you SW gurus!

you can't have brown rice as HE2. For one meal probably wouldn't matter, but don't do it regularly.

ooops...furball...I thought you could...I nver do...but I honestly thought you could...seeing that you can have potatoes in skin as HE on red...

Oh, and am not at Club10 just yet...but if I stick to it then I should be next weigh in....sorry if I confused

swiftyknickers · 14/08/2008 14:40

ok hi everyone
am taking the plunge and joined slimming owrld online (the body optomising one) however am finding it very confusing!! how does it all bleeding work?

SWlurker · 14/08/2008 15:28

yep, the rice is always a suprise... I remember one of my consultants (over the years I've had a few ) said apparently it doesn't have enough fibre in it to class as a HEb - brown pasta and skin on new potatoes do.

OP posts:
3andnomore · 14/08/2008 19:23

brown pasta isn't a HE, is it? I am sure I didn't see it when I earlier on checked it out.

I actually send an E-mail earlier to SW website. It was about something that has always irked me. I mean, why can they not bring out a pocket Syn calcualtor....it can't be so difficult, can it? Surely it is some kind of maths formula? Hm...shall see what the answer is...but the way they are doing it right now really does annoy me ...I mean that big syn book is a major pita...not something you can carry about with ya, lol....and well, not everyone accesses the INternet via their mobile phone....so, you could use that on the go, iykwim....!Hohum....!

Swifty, which part do you find confusing? Everything or just specific areas?

SpinningEm · 14/08/2008 20:02

OMG all this sounds so complicated - have just decided to join SW so looked at this thread - yikes is it hard?

3andnomore · 14/08/2008 20:45

not really, but you do have to get your head around it!
At first it is probably best to stick to the original and green day system, i.e. decide for every day if you want to have a day where you go green (as much Pasta, Rice, Potatoes, pulses, etc...) as you like or original, i.e fresh meats and fish are free to your hearts contents.
Then you have your superfreefoods, which you can enjoy as much as you like, no matter which day you do, and your free foods, again eat as much as you like, but they differ, from green and original....and then you also have your Healthy Extras there are two of the dairy kind and 2HE which are grains, cereal and also, depending on the day you are doing, on a original day you could have some potatoes in their skin and on a green day you could have a certain amount of fish, forinstance.
And then theer is syns....which is the funbits...
hopefully I have not confsed you more...but your consultant will be able to explain it better and you also get some booklets where it tells you all you need to know
