Happy September Everyone!

We made it through the heatwaves and summer holidays!
I am so ready for the cooler weather, the start of Autumn and to get back into routine!

I wonder how many steps we can all do in September ?
Let's go!!!

11334 steps today - improvement on yesterday although I did spend most of the afternoon sitting around. Aiming for at least 11500 tomorrow.

Onegramatatime · 04/09/2026 06:49

Welcome, @LunchtimeIllusion . This a great supportive group. You will like it here.

6692 steps yesterday.

So i met my target not to do less than 6400.

Still haven't gotten round to resuming working out but kept my calories in line. Though, protein intake was sub-optimal. Water intake still leaves alot to be desired. Sleep is not great. Not sounding very positive here😆.
@Joolly2 , i have tried the caramel and sea salt one too. Actually, it was the first one i bought when i first came across them.
@Clearingaspace , just checking in..how is it going?
@10kstepsaday , how were the kids with going back to school? Was is a good first day for them?
My lot resumed from 28th August. One started at a new further further further away. So we are waking an hour earlier than usual. But it's been tough, our bodies are not yet adjusted to this new time (after weeks of later relaxed waking up times, late nights etc) so i have had grumpiness, moans etc. Yeah, tough. Should all be good in a couple of weeks time (fingers crossed).

@WorthySloth , love your list of bands. Quite impressive too but more impressed at how you are able to go see different bands quite frequently.

The aim today is to hit 7000 steps minimum.

WorthySloth · 04/09/2026 07:33

@Onegramatatime my kids are grown up now - youngest is 18. They still live at home so someone is always there to look after the cats 🤣🤣 I work full time but do 12 hour days so I only have to work 3 days a week and also I self rota so I can work around my social life 🤣🤣 plus I pick up a lot of overtime to pay for it all 🤣🤣

my manager is very understanding as well and allows me to swop shifts if something comes up after I have done my rota. Which is why I’m doing an overtime shift for her today to take someone on a home visit. Flexibility goes both ways as far as I am concerned.

10kstepsaday · 04/09/2026 08:28

@Joolly2 I love Tonys chocolate 🤤

Also trying to reset my diet over here!! Always around 2pm I start snacking!!

Welcome @LunchtimeIllusion👋🏻

The kids first day back was all good!! And I went for a lunchtime outside walk! So yesterday was 12.1k whoop whoop!!

@Onegramatatime 28th Aug is quite early to go back!!

8k yesterday forgot to update.

WorthySloth · 04/09/2026 08:56

4875 for me yesterday partly because I slept in. Going in at 12 to take someone home for the weekend really hope the trains are ok 😭😭

WorthySloth · 04/09/2026 09:57

Was someone on here talking about losing their reading mojo? I was the same gone from reading constantly to barely at all 😢 however I’ve just downloaded an Agatha Christie collection which was free on kindle and has 50 books and I’m working my way through those. I’ve read most of them before so there is familiarity but I actually can’t remember who dunnit so it’s still exciting and I can’t wait to read the next section. I think I’ve read 3 books in a week and I’m loving it!

LunchtimeIllusion · 04/09/2026 11:25

Ended at around 8700 yesterday, mostly from pottering about the house after the kids had gone to bed. Another day full of meetings today 😭 I’m hoping it’ll be dry enough this evening to get out for a proper walk.

@WorthySloth I dug my very dusty kindle out of a drawer yesterday. Next step is to find the charging cable!

10kstepsaday · 04/09/2026 21:45

8.7k today for me

I have never read Agatha Christie @WorthySloth
Maybe I will give them a try!

Bringmebacktothe90s · 04/09/2026 22:08

10535 today

Joolly2 · 04/09/2026 23:10

Good evening all, was a few steps short so ended up galloping round the room whilst watching Pete Wicks - For Dog's Sake. Need to lie down now 🥱. Final total is 10,195

Onegramatatime · 05/09/2026 02:23

7192 steps.

I was in bed by 8pm. Checked my steps it was 4662. I got out and started walking round the house. My target for today was 7k steps minimum, so did that and went back to bed immediately.
@10kstepsaday , yeah i wasn't happy with the 28th August. I thought it's a slippery slope, in a few years it will be 17th August. Whatever happened to the good ol' 6th/7th/8th Sept resumption dates?!
@WorthySloth , yeah, i still haven't been reading much. I am still on 'The retirement plan' by Sue Hincenberg. It's really interesting, i have just been so busy with work.
I love Agatha Christie books & the TV productions, funny enough the one time i like the TV productions even when I have already read the books.
@Joolly2 , that made me smile @ galloping. And you got to 10k steps! Yay! I appreciate a good in-house gallop to ensure the target is hit. On another note, i used to watch Pete Wicks in TOWIE but I do really enjoy watching him on For Dog's Sake. Interesting programme. I also watched him in an ITV quiz show - can't remember the name of the show- where he partnered with someone and they (pete and a whole lot of other celebrities) sat in chairs in a circle and the next contestant came up into the middle of the circle (also seated) from a hole in the ground. He was funny in that show. I would never have expected him to do a quiz show!

grinandslothit · 05/09/2026 02:29

Hello I'm new I want to try this I'm not sure if I can get 10K a day to start with but I will try

Littlegreywolfcub · 05/09/2026 05:02

9680 steps yesterday - nearly there! I'm also trying for 25 mins of 'exercise' on my watch which means for me either super fast walking or a v slow jog. And doing the exercise mins every other day as some days it all days it feels very hard 😂

Theoretically it should be easy for me to get these steps in as I've retired. Hats off to all those working full time and having a go! Keep on keeping on....

husbandcallsmepickle · 05/09/2026 07:54

Yesterday was rubbish and I only got to 10142 because I did a lot of walking on the spot to bump up my total.
However, I have lost a kilogram this week!

LunchtimeIllusion · 05/09/2026 09:42

I got to about 9000 yesterday thanks to an evening dog walk. No work today, so I won’t be able to use that as an excuse not to get to 10k!

WorthySloth · 05/09/2026 12:56

8592 yesterday. Had a trip to London yesterday so spent a chunk of time in the car and on the train.

currently 3 pints in before I hit the dance floor 💃 let’s see how today goes

Bringmebacktothe90s · 05/09/2026 20:46

14,390 today and 7 pound down in 2 weeks

10kstepsaday · 05/09/2026 23:35

Well done everyone!! And welcome along those joining!

10.8K for me today! A quick walking workout this morning, the kids joined in! And an afternoon walk with the kids on scooters this afternoon. I always end up carrying the scooters home 🤣

Wow well done on the weight loss @Bringmebacktothe90s that is impressive!! I am trying to lose the last stone/stone and half to get to my goal weight. I have been trying for about 6 years 🤣

I started a new creative project today, and began painting a wall mural for my kids 🎨👩🏻‍🎨 nice to do something creative instead of scrolling or the like. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Good evening everyone. On a roll at the moment clocked 10,622 today. Perhaps September will be the month I succeed. There, I've said it out loud so my streak will probably break now.😃
@Bringmebacktothe90s very impressive.
@WorthySloth loving your style, enjoy your dancing.
@10kstepsaday your project sounds great. Lucky children to have a creative mum.
@grinandslothit welcome. 10,000 sounds like a mountain to climb at first, but I'm sure you'll get there. Try challenging yourself to do a few more steps than the day before, and you'll be there in no time.
@Onegramatatime I know the programme you mentioned, can't remember the name of it either😀. He seems so genuine on the dog prog. He come across as a lovely caring guy.

LunchtimeIllusion · 06/09/2026 07:53

14035 yesterday. And some banana bread for balance.

husbandcallsmepickle · 06/09/2026 08:05

14044 yesterday, boosted as I was volunteering at a local event

WorthySloth · 06/09/2026 09:05

25846 yesterday 😁 lots of dancing and walking. Currently on almost 4k for today and I haven’t got out of bed yet 🤣🤣 it was a late one last night 🤣🤣

Joolly2 · 06/09/2026 23:36

@WorthySloth your life sounds mad. You must run on adrenaline, do you not need sleep like us mortals. Insane step total as well 👏
@husbandcallsmepickle @LunchtimeIllusion great totals.
@10kstepsaday how is the mural coming along? I painted one once in my first son's nursery. As I am no artist I copied Dick Bruna's style (him of the Miffy fame). Fluffy sheep on rolling hills with a few rabbits. When my second son was born I wallpapered his nursery. 😂
@grinandslothit how are you getting on?

My total for the day is 10,046

husbandcallsmepickle · 07/09/2026 06:40

Yesterday went a bit wrong. Only 6204 for the day and I took my 5yo to a birthday party so I ate way too much. My daily average for the week was over 10k so I guess that's good. Anyway, today is the beginning of a new week and first day of term here.
