Happy September Everyone!

We made it through the heatwaves and summer holidays!
I am so ready for the cooler weather, the start of Autumn and to get back into routine!

I wonder how many steps we can all do in September ?
Let's go!!!

8451 today. Working a short shift tomorrow (8 hours 🤣🤣) and pretty sure it’s going to involve a lot of walking so I have my comfy trainers out ready to wear 🤣🤣

Joolly2 · 28/09/2026 23:32

Good evening everyone. Sorry for the radio silence, I've been leaving it too late at night to post. Promising myself to post in the morning, then forgetting. My missing numbers are Friday 10,069, Saturday, a dribble over 10,000, Sunday was a disaster 5,698, tried to make amends today and managed 15,120.

I started the month with a self imposed ban on reading after letting my reading habit get out of control. It made me miserable, so I relented and allowed myself one book a week. How on earth do you choose just 1 book? It's been so hard. The good news is it's nearly October and the ban will be over. 😀
SLOWLY reading my way through a series by S J Bennett, the books centre around the late Queen and her little known ability to solve murders. She allows others to take the credit and so keeps her anonymity. A blend of fiction and historical facts. Easy to read and quite fun.
ToA and the Salt Path are waiting to be read.
@Onegramatatime hope the coming week is easier for you after your difficulties.
Enjoy the last few days of September everyone.

Onegramatatime · 29/09/2026 06:07

Today's steps 7919.

Great steps everyone.
A bit early for me tonight.
Good night.

This was my message at 7:45pm yesterday but i crashed out before I could finish it and send!

Morning, all.
Wishing everyone a lovely day.

10kstepsaday · 29/09/2026 08:28

My final count for yesterday was 12k!
Happy with that. Working from home today and lots to do but hoping to get a lunch time walk in 🤔

It's an easy book to read and I'm enjoying it. I've read some of the controversy about it but hasn't let it stop me enjoying the book.
Today's steps are 10486.

I think as long as you accept it as the work of fiction it actually is and that they have a very negative view of everyone they meet then it’ll be fine. It’s a beautiful part of the world and I am very fortunate to live here. I am an incomer not born and bred but have been welcomed with open arms by locals 💕

10kstepsaday · 29/09/2026 21:11

10.5K today
Finished the last lot of steps by marching around the living room which I haven't done for a long while!

Also how are we nearly in October???

husbandcallsmepickle · 29/09/2026 21:45

@10kstepsadayI've been known to do that a fair few times, although not recently as I'm still doing well. 11282 steps today.

Joolly2 · 29/09/2026 21:54

Evening all, sitting here trying to summon the energy to climb the stairs to bed. My step count for the day is 11,088.
I hope our happy little band stays together for the next month.

Onegramatatime · 30/09/2026 06:19

8011 steps yesterday.

Just trying to do as much walking as I can do within the usual everyday activities. Like walking back and forth to clear the table by taking one plate at a time, one cuttlery at a time etc

Onegramatatime · 30/09/2026 06:25

Oh..and @Joolly2 i made a version of your lentil cottage pie. I used lamb & lentils (tried to disguise the lentils). The mash was potato, carrot and swede (tried to disguise the carrot & swede). I mixed in some mustard (again not mentioned when questioned about ingredients).
It went down a treat.
Some nosy child spent considerable time probing the food investigatingly with her fork after each mouthful but i said nothing. She still had seconds.

WorthySloth · 30/09/2026 07:15

15866 yesterday 😊 had a lovely walk around croyde with work so it was hilly and challenging as well as a decent walk.

pretty sure I’ll have a car day at work today tho.

Clearingaspace · 30/09/2026 08:02

Well done everyone

just over 7000 but happy with that as I didn’t have time for a walk

10kstepsaday · 30/09/2026 18:17

Well done everyone! All smashing it!;
For sure I will sort out the October thread!!

Well done @Onegramatatime I do that sometimes too, I fold all the laundry then put each item back one at a time 🤣

Today I am currently at 10.4K 🥳
My monthly average for Sept 8.9K which is better than August but still room for improvement in October!

@10kstepsaday , that's a great finish to the month.

7679 steps today.
Thank-you for the October thread.

WorthySloth · 30/09/2026 22:10

5321 today. Monthly average of 9474. Lowest for a while but loads of my work shifts have been with someone who really isn’t very mobile. He’s very challenging but I’m one of the people who are pretty ok with him. I mean he doesn’t tend to bite me 🤣🤣 I get hugs and kisses instead.

I can see next month being more of the same but I’ll see if I can up my average to 10k again.

Already know Friday will be shit because I’m driving from Devon to Stoke on Trent then back again on Saturday 😭😭

10kstepsaday · 30/09/2026 22:55

Well done @Onegramatatime😃
@WorthySloth great theres no biting! 😅
You do such a great job!
Driving days are always the worst for me, though that is a very long journey!!

OP posts:
Joolly2 · 30/09/2026 23:57

10,471 steps today. I can't get my watch to talk to my tablet so I can't work out my average. I'll do it manually tomorrow as I would like to know.
@Onegramatatime so pleased the lentil cottage pie was a success, I was that suspicious child growing. I was always checking and re checking my food. Anything not eaten was served up again the next mealtime.🤮 It was the start of a lifetime of veg avoidance.
@10kstepsaday that's a pretty good average you've got there. Thanks for the new thread.
@WorthySloth you also have a pretty good average. We always want more, but sometimes we don't see how good what we have is. Your life is always so crazy busy. Don't envy your drive on Friday/Saturday.
See you all on the new thread.

Clearingaspace · 01/10/2026 19:53

hello everyone my average for the month is 11186, very happy with that. See you all in September October thread!

husbandcallsmepickle · 01/10/2026 20:37

Just home after a 12hr day at work and 16800 steps. Yesterday was 15055.

10kstepsaday · 01/10/2026 23:23

Hey @husbandcallsmepickle well done 😃
We are over on the October thread now 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
