⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️ LOSE IT! July Jumpstart 2026⭐️

Here we are with our Active August LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone
after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Morning lovelies. I’m down a tiny bit from last week after rejoining you. I’m struggling to use NutraCheck as consistently as I was a couple of months ago now I share most meals with my 1yo… I really wanna get to 80kg by January 1st (which would put me at a 22kg loss since the start of 2026). 🙏

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 88.4kg
GW: 80kg

ChunkyMonkey36 · 19/08/2026 11:22

In the 14s!! Just 😂

SW: 16st 10lbs (106.14kg)
CW: 14st 13.75lbs (95.14kg)
Total: 24.25lbs (11kg)

socks1107 · 19/08/2026 11:43

Sts this week. Disappointed tbh given I’ve not eaten anything over 1400 calories a day.

SW 13.13
CW 10.8
GW 10.5

so three weeks to my holiday, 3lbs to lose. Won’t happen but I can hope…

DandelionPockets · 19/08/2026 11:52

SW 12st 10lbs (20th July)
CW 12st 1lbs
GW 11st
Height 5ft 7in

1lb down since last Wednesday
Weekend calories were a little high so this week the deficit needs to be stuck to - doing ok so far!

Finished week 5 of C25k and loving that I can run for 20 minutes now (last time I ran would have been at school 2 decades ago...)

WearyAuldWumman · 19/08/2026 13:06

Back to 14 stones. I think I'm going to force myself to throw out two size 20 tops. I can get away with wearing them - just - but in one, the armholes show off the sides of my bras and the darted area sort of hangs round the side (not immediately noticeable because my arms flatten it). I only just noticed how much is hanging there.

The other top has sleeves, but it's not doing anything for me. The neck is now a bit low and not flattering and the front just sort of hangs. It's not awful, but it's a bit more like a sack.

I've been keeping clothes as long as possible rather than buying new since I don't know what my end size will be, but there's no point in hanging onto them, is there?

PatienceOfEngels · 19/08/2026 14:42

Well done everyone!

Have made the most of a loss with a cake and half out (DS didn't like what he ordered, offered him half of mine and he didn't like that much either!) and then lunch out, though did avoid burger and chips.

Day out at a theme park tomorrow and have promised DC a drive-thru on the way home but going to make the most of the last few days of the summer break and stick to my basic food rules:

-no eating after dinner - I'm not hungry, just bored!
-no snacking between meals - see above!
-be mindful of portion size at meals, especially rice/pasta/potato - I do not need as much food as very tall DH and growth spurt teens.

Plus my very easy long-standing habits of: no caffeine after midday, no alcohol.

RoseInAPot · 19/08/2026 14:45

Good morning WOWers

TLDR, I have turned the tanker around, finally seeing a 64 on the scales 😄

I’m using my Happy Scale trend weight, and started on 24th June (8 weeks ago) with a weight of 66.5kg.
I hit my first milestone (65.2kg) on 13th July but went back up to 65.4kg.* Finally getting the trend going down again at 65.3kg* this morning. A tiny amount but in the right direction!

My actual weight this morning was 64.9kg, so I’m now 1.3kg down on my post holiday highest weight and that should start to affect the trend positively in the next few days.

I have been smashing it on the exercise front: an average of 14470 steps over the last 7 days and 5 weight sessions.

Calorie intake remains too high for faster weight loss; 1680 per day on average over the last 7 days, but it is a little better than last week. I’m still struggling to give up a daily Magnum! If I talk myself into a Solero it’s a lot less calories...

Thanks to my exercise I have a deficit of 280 calories a day which is OK but would be better without the Magnum 😛
I am blaming the weather...

According to the trend then I’ve lost 1.2kg in total in 8 weeks which is a very slow loss but a loss nonetheless and I am getting fitter. It was good to break through the 65kg barrier this morning, now to keep it going; I will feel much better when I break the psychological barrier of 10 stone (63.5kg).

WearyAuldWumman · 19/08/2026 15:49

Had cornflakes for breakfast.
Held up by life.

At gym cafe. Waiting for lentil soup. Shall get cheese and ham toastie between classes.

No there isn't! I've just got rid of ten bags-for-life full of clothes that are too big. It's very therapeutic.

Well done!

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/08/2026 21:07

You see I can’t bring myself to get rid of my bigger stuff! I’ve been boxing it up and putting it in the loft 😂 I feel like if I put it all on again at least I’ll have comfortable clothes…. But that’s very much the wrong attitude!

WearyAuldWumman · 19/08/2026 21:21

I also have some paint-stained, bigger stuff that I've kept for painting and working in the garden. I'm considering cutting them into rags since - in theory - I'll have other 'bigger' clothes as I lose... Hmmm.

My loft is already full of non-clothing. Well, apart from my wedding dress which is supposedly up there and two of my mum's tea dresses. 1950s. Size 14 (so current 12 at most) and altered to fit someone 5ft 3...So I'll never get into them, but I can't bear to put them out.

socks1107 · 19/08/2026 22:03

Regarding clothes I’ve got rid of everything that’s too big. I’m very gone from 14/16 to a 8/10/12 and as I’ve moved down I’ve sold it, charity shop or binned it. I have more summer stuff to do yet but I’ve not kept anything as I never intend to put it back on

BreakingBroken · 20/08/2026 00:09

late to the closet clean out convo :( and i love a closet clean out plan.

wow 157.3 (which i'm super excited to see)
sw 186.6
gw 140

Fellsbells · 20/08/2026 06:59

I’ve kept everything. Maybe I should have more faith in staying at this weight.

RoseInAPot · 20/08/2026 10:48

I hit my first Happy Scale milestone (65.2kg) on 13th July but went back up to 65.4kg.

Have hit that 65.2kg milestone again this morning but that’s basically 5 weeks of treading water! Holiday clearly did more damage than I thought.

Still, it was good to see. Onwards and downwards….

FridayNighFeeling · 20/08/2026 14:19

Hi all, thought I'd come and check in after just over 2 weeks. We've had guests so who knows what the scales say. I've tried to do some weights and we've done bits of walking, but also lots of eating! I've about 10 days before I'm back in the office, so hopefully I can at least get into a bit of a routine and lose some bloat.

Sounds like you're all doing OK - hope you're not too fed up with all the ABs @TheRealHousewife

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 21/08/2026 09:17

Scale wobbled over 14 stone 7 this morning! And I've just had to shorten the straps on a summer dress because it's getting too big.

LemonDrizzle23 · 21/08/2026 09:20

It makes no sense really, as if it happened, I could always buy new clothes…. My shorts from the last two summers are hanging off me now. There’s no way they’ll fit next year if I lose anything else before then. Maybe I’ll keep them for the satisfaction of them being too big next summer 😂

Completely floored by a cold currently, so all thoughts of calorie counting are out the window. Just survival mode for now!

LemonDrizzle23 · 21/08/2026 21:01

Adding my period, and a mouth ulcer to my stinking cold 😂 I think I made the mistake of relaxing on holiday and my body decided to go on strike since our return…

Oh that's rubbish!! Get some chocolate down you and have an early night?

LemonDrizzle23 · Yesterday 09:51

@DreamingOfGeneHunt yep, carbs and chocolate are going to be the theme of this weekend I think!

WearyAuldWumman · Yesterday 13:05

14 stone 1.

I'm blaming it on continued stress, plus a sore mouth. Hoping it's not permanent, but...I think that's about a month since the impacted wisdom tooth came out and one half of the bottom set of gums/mouth/lips/teeth keeps oscillating from numbness to pain/discomfort and back again.

Hey ho. I was told it was a choice between risking permanent numbness or possibly developing sepsis. I'll survive.

I did go to my senior flex class yesterday.
