⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️ LOSE IT! July Jumpstart 2026⭐️

Here we are with our Active August LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone
after having been on the wrong side of 12stone.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Back up to 14 stone 10 Sad

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/08/2026 08:23

I am definitely avoiding the scale until Wednesday. Holiday eating got a bit out of control and ended with a big burger last night, as we got home and couldn’t be bothered to cook on top of unpacking.

Groceries have been delivered, so we’re back to normal eating today!

Fellsbells · 16/08/2026 11:58

I’m 1lb down from last sunday, but have maintained for the rest of this week. I’m hoping that this is my new weight and just need to lock it in now.

Feeling optimistic about maintenance. I’ve got into better habits this summer and genuinely enjoy eating well.

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/08/2026 19:08

Well the good intentions only lasted a couple of hours, as we’ve all come down with a stinking cold. I did cook, but there’s been a load of junk alongside. On the plus side, it has finally cooled down 🙌

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 16/08/2026 19:10

Oh no @LemonDrizzle23 that's rubbish! Hope you're all better soon.

JustOneMoreMargarita · 17/08/2026 06:25

I really need to find my focus. My weight is edging downwards but so slowly that Happy Scale says it will take me until December to reach my next milestone (2kg loss 🙈).

Exercise has been pretty good despite the heat - running three times a week and averaging 17K steps a day for August.

Food, not so much. I have to STOP snacking, But now I’m stressed about impending GCSE results day so this might not be the week that happens.

WearyAuldWumman · 17/08/2026 14:31

I was ill over the weekend. Thought "Oh well. At least the weight will be down."

Reader, I've gone up one pound. throws tantrum

WearyAuldWumman · 17/08/2026 14:34

On the plus side, my size 20 tops are definitely baggy on me. I tried on an old top from the back of the wardrobe and thought "Okay...I can just get away with the stomach. The rest is fine. If I lose a bit more, my size 18s will look better, however."

Then I checked the label. Size 16.

Still have 'orrible flabby belly. I shudder to think what it'll be like if the rest of the weight goes.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/08/2026 18:05

Omad here today. But only because my dinner date cancelled on me (boo). I ate some posh ham and cheese, and a Diet Coke, so not really the model for excellent eating.

Very happy with weight training at the moment; I am seeing actual muscles on occasion.

Aaargh!

BreakingBroken · 17/08/2026 18:09

meanwhile i'm encouraged to see 158.1 on the scale!! might mean 157 soon or at least i hope so.
of course i'm aiming for 140, but happy to loose even if slow.
not much "exercise" but i'm eating well.

JustOneMoreMargarita · 18/08/2026 10:16

First run for a while this morning where I didn’t hate every second, so I’m taking that as a win. I’ve gone back to C25K as I was slipping into some bad run / walk habits but did 3.4K in under 23 minutes so I feel good about that. Hoping now its a bit cooler the running will be better.

Drop on the scales too… Happy Scale has updated to say I should meet first milestone next week rather than in December 😂

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 18/08/2026 10:19

Very very nearly 14 stone 8. Scale definitely hovered.
I keep thinking if I can only get to 14/8 then it'll start coming off properly again. Could be wrong of course.

Bufftailed · 18/08/2026 11:01

Plugging on after a plateau - very nearly under 80kg…training for 10k now which is helping a lot and doing weight. Stopped calorie counting but eating less

We keep going

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/08/2026 13:27

Well I think I can probably trust the scale again post-holiday and post-heat wave and I’m very certain I’ve put on a lb which is annoying!

Not going to be able to do much walking in the next few weeks, so going to have to be quite strict with the diet to see any losses as well 😬 We shall see….

PatienceOfEngels · 18/08/2026 14:43

Had a hot and not very healthy weekend - 2 special occasions/days out so meals out (Mcdonalds and seafood with fries), treat meals (steak and chips, followed by celebration cake and non-alcoholic beer/wine). However, got lots of steps in Sunday and the heat is finally over here! Have woken up to rain 2 mornings in a row.

Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow as I know I've lost the holiday weight I put on. Am doing well with no evening eating and very few snacks. Movement wise have been struggling. Hot and sweaty with the weather the last week, and every time I do something I seem to get another ache and pain! Just trying to focus on staying relaxed and healthy, tidying up the mess that is my house.

Cooking chicken bhuna tonight.

mermadeincornwall · 19/08/2026 06:54

10stone 12lbs exactly.
Goal 10stone.

PatienceOfEngels · 19/08/2026 07:02

Wow: 2kg off today after 9 days of more mindful eating!

SW 79.1kg 10/08/26 (BMI 29.1)
CW 77.1kg (BMI 28.3)
GW1 67.9kg (for a BMI under 25)
GW2 63.5kg (BMI 23.3) - haven't been this since before DC1 was born but I can dream!

I know that after today it'll get a lot harder. And back to work next week as well. Mission is t focus on my mind and the things that are good for relaxation. Then I'm less likely to stress eat.

Sunflowers83 · 19/08/2026 07:12

Good morning, everyone.

Check-in today using my Happy Scale ‘moving average’.
SW (16.06.26): 8st13
Last week: 8st12.6
Current: 8st12.0
Target weight: ??8st?? (Lose tummy fat!)

1 pound in 2 months!! Happy Scale is currently telling me that I’ll reach 8st in December 2029! I’m still not sure if that is my target. I’m focusing on body recomposition and hoping I might lose some tummy fat as I build muscle.

FiveShelties · 19/08/2026 07:18

151.4 Pounds 1st August
150.6 Pounds 5th August
148.8 Pounds 12th August
147.8 Pounds 19th August

Aim 143 Pounds

So 3.6 pounds gone and 4.8 to go. Next week we are away for a few days so would hope to stay the same, probably unlikely as it is my birthday!

It is just too easy to put on pounds and so very difficult to lose them.... moan, moan....😂
Have a great week everyone.

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/08/2026 07:22

Morning WOWers. I weighed again this morning just to confirm my gain, but actually I appear to have lost 0.2lbs in the last two weeks while we were away, rather than gained a pound. So I’ll take that 🤷‍♀️

SW: 15st 8.5
CW: 13 st 5.2
Next goal: 12 st 12 (Overweight BMI)

Keep going everyone. @PatienceOfEngels that’s a great loss!

PatienceOfEngels · 19/08/2026 07:55

That's definitely a win then @LemonDrizzle23 🙂

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 19/08/2026 08:22

14 stone 8 this morning!!

Fellsbells · 19/08/2026 08:35

Well done everyone.
my wow is maintaining on last week which is what I wanted.

Bufftailed · 19/08/2026 09:21

Well done all. After weeks of going up and down, hace crossed the 80 kg barrier - v happy. Eating less, earlier & exercising. V focused on my sleep! Started late May:

SW 84
CW 79.7
GW 72 kg
