Hey @10kstepsaday thanks for starting an April thread, I’m signing up again for another month. I will aim for 12k steps a day this month, and see how I get on.

10kstepsaday · 01/04/2026 22:56

Yay hello again @SilenceInside🤩
Glad you are joining again!!

First day done for me 😁
And I am very proud of that because at 8.00pm I was only at 4K! I have driven for 6 hrs in total today and sat in a room non stop for 4 hours so I am so TIRED, and have not had much opportunity for steps. Anyway I put on a podcast and did laps around my house for over an hour 🤣 my DH thinks I'm mental but told him he can get me a walking pad if he's going to carry on laughing!!

It was the Begin Again podcast with Davina McCall, speaking to Deliciously Ella! Recommend a listen 🤩

Just found this thread! Can i join?
I tried doing 10K steps a day last month. My consistency wasn't great.. i did 10K steps mininum for 19 days out if the 31.
I feel a bit worried committing here as i may not be able to do 10k everyday but i would like to try. Is that okay?

leaflikebrew · 02/04/2026 08:25

I did 10k steps a day in January but fluffed on 2 days - getting just under...however I did feel it improved my health and fitness levels.

(got a new smart watch for xmas) so keen to try again for April - only just seen this thread so Day 1 is a fail as only did 5080 steps Grin

So starting from today - will check in throughout the month to keep accountable.

Good luck all; it is possible to do, but not easy if you have a full time job/kids

SilenceInside · 02/04/2026 11:13

@10kstepsaday that's an amazing achievement to get to 10k from being at 4k at 8pm! I have also done loops of the house to tick off steps (with my DP chuckling at me), but usually only when I have a couple of hundred left. I am very glad that I have my running machine available, so I can knock out a run or a fast walk on that if I need to, particularly over the winter when it's dark, cold and wet.

@Onegramatatime please do join in, I think all of us have had issues with consistency as life gets in the way. Illness, children, work, long commutes, terrible weather and so on can all get in the way. I had 4 days in March that I didn't make the 10k, but I looked at my average steps each day for the month and managed to keep that above my target. For me, my aim is to not be as sedentary, so the daily target is a good reminder but I will also look at the overall trend too so individual days are not the only measure.

I got to 13.6k steps yesterday, so happy with that as a start to April. I find it harder to get the steps in during time off work weirdly as I am not doing my usual routine where I know how to get the steps in. It's trickier for me to plan each day when I don't have that routine to work off.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 02/04/2026 13:26

Checking in. Already up to 6k need to walk to post office to drop off some Vinted stuff and it will be job done 😁

Go for a daily average. Some days life gets in the way but others days you will smash it

Welcome @Onegramatatime and @leaflikebrew
You will do great! 😁 I have found this thread very positive and motivating!

Yes @silenceinside a treadmill is definitely on our list to buy and will be easier than doing laps 🤣

Well done @TheSlimmingPumpkin
Your vinted drop off walks are helpful 🤩

I'm logging 11k for today which is thanks to baking a ton of cakes with my DC and walking a million steps around the kitchen cleaning up after them 🤣 good fun though.

Thanks, everyone for the welcome.

Good advice @TheSlimmingPumpkin .

Steps today 8353. Walking to and from errands around the town centre.

SilenceInside · 03/04/2026 00:19

Just a touch under 11k today. Bit annoyed with myself for not getting on with a walk in the morning, and leaving till late in the evening to try to hit the steps. Will try to rectify that tomorrow!

10kstepsaday · 03/04/2026 22:22

Well done @Onegramatatime and @SilenceInside

So many times I leave it till later on in the day and every time I regret it 🤣

10.5K today most of it gained from walking around the town centre with my youngest, shopping for holiday clothes 😎☀️

Good stuff @10kstepsadayshopping steps all count!

15.3k steps today, had a rare day on my own so got out for a decent 2hr solo walk.

TwoProngedFork · 03/04/2026 22:35

Please please can I join starting tomorrow?

Onegramatatime · 03/04/2026 22:57

Welldone, @10kstepsaday . Great committment.
I couldn't move much today but hoping to get my steps in tomorrow.

Yesreallyitsme · 03/04/2026 23:01

Hey, I’d like to join please 😊. I need to move a bit more consistently than I am at present.

Joolly2 · 03/04/2026 23:27

Hello everyone, I am definitely up for the April challenge. I posted on the old thread that I'm just back from a couple of days in the Peak District. Today's total is 7,800 a bit disappointing but spent a lot of the day in the car so can't be helped.
@10kstepsaday thank you for the podcast recommendation, I'll have a listen as soon as I get time. I've been eating rubbish for the last few days so I must knuckle down and get back on track.

10kstepsaday · 04/04/2026 10:50

Of course, welcome @TwoProngedFork and @Yesreallyitsme 🤩

Yay you found us @Joolly2
Hope you had a lovely time in PD! I have never been but always wanted to go.

Good evening everyone, I managed 10,986 steps today. Also batch cooked 3 different soups for the freezer. Mushroom, spicy parsnip and vegetable. I'll try one tomorrow and start my veg count. I'll see if I can get to 20 in a week.
@10kstepsaday PD is beautiful would definitely recommend. Came across The Let Them Theory on Borrow Box, I've downloaded it to listen to in the week.

Forgot to post last night! Was at 9K but had a chilled Saturday so happy with that.

Happy Easter everyone!! Hoping to get out late for a nice Sunday stroll :) and eat choccy of course!!

Big fan of Let Them theory @Joolly2
Haven't read the book but have seen Mel Robbins speak about it on socials and podcasts. Makes so much sense to me!

I managed my 10k yesterday, though it did mean a walk in Storm Dave’s downpour! Will get out for a solo Easter Sunday walk today 🙂

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 05/04/2026 19:50

Covered about 11,400 steps today thanks to family walk after roast dinner but probably not enough to make up for today’s calories 😂

10kstepsaday · 05/04/2026 20:17

Calories don't count at Easter 😉 @TheSlimmingPumpkin

10.5k for me today! Happy with that;

Welldone @10kstepsaday , you are doing well.
Well done @TheSlimmingPumpkin, @Joolly2 and @Yesreallyitsme . Doing really well.

I currently have a deadline and all other things have fallen by the wayside. Hopefully, on Wednesday I could get back to getting my steps in and join you all in doing well.

Yesreallyitsme · 05/04/2026 20:56

Just over 11k for me today, even though I feel like I’ve had a super lazy day. Just shows you what getting outside a couple of times a day can do 😊
